I got some pound cake and some sweet potato pie. Now usually I don't order sweet potato pie from places because I'm almost always disappointed unless it's truly homemade like my grandma used to make. I have to say I was let down by this one. I kept trying to taste more of it to get some more flavor from it but it just was okay. I didn't finish the one slice that I got. The pound cake was okay again. My man loves chicken salad and they give you a nice Hefty portion here but he said it was way too many onions in there and he only ate maybe four or five bites before putting it in the fridge which is where it still is right now. The seafood gumbo was again average. My man says no comment lol but we go to New Orleans a few times a year just to eat. So this was a letdown for me. I didn't have anything great. I heard awesome things about this place. Maybe I'll come back and try the cookies but the desserts I tried here didn't do it for me and I wouldn't go out of my way for them.

Anyways, if you're looking for the finest chocolates, candies, and mints, look no further! Hands down my favorite chocolate shop anywhere. Their dark chocolate buttercream is made with pure bliss and little bits of heaven, I'm sure of it. Whenever I come home to visit family, I always stop by and grab a box of chocolates. They have all sorts of treats for every special occasion and they still gift wrap your purchases for free! Their chocolates are more expensive than your run-of-the-milk candies but 100% worth it for the quality and care they put into each and every piece. The shop is run by friendly staff and even the owner himself! I've been back again and again for of a few reasons. First of all, the donuts were delicious. Moist and chewy, with a good recipe. You can tell when places cut corners or use cheap ingredients. The icing is perfect and the fillings are good. I think they have the best cream filling I've ever had. The staff have always been good to us, too. I appreciate the half off dozens but frankly don't mind paying full price for anything as long as the quality is there.
