Even if you could stumble upon deals, I have avoided this site for quite some time for a number of reasons, and I have had my fair share of the horrid experiences just as other reviewers of one or two stars did. The store was always in disarray and in the state of being ransacked just now, but most of the time I stepped in, so this was their quasi second nature, I concluded. On top of it, this site is notorious for the long line with very limited number of cashiers so what to make of it? Do they still turn a blind eye to the problem, which repelled many shoppers?
More than a few times, I observed suboptimal merchandises blatantly sold in the states as below:
1) designer brand markdowns with obvious defects as
a) a 'burnt' kind of hole ?!
b) ripped or torn
c) a pair of brand name shoes sold mismatched in size and color/tone (!??). (Especially selling c) seemed scandalous atrocity in retail. This made me wonder if this was a result of careless mistakes of overwhelmed staff in stocking OR their store policy knowingly arranges deals based on their defects as if how far their customers would tolerate? Quite racketeering, isn't it? And their follow-up (a.k.a. after shopping disputes) seemed to suck as hell and you might as well expect your point not coming through their reluctant reps. Their staff/clerks seemed either mindless stockers, who are not equipped with verbal communication, or those who would say and do anything to evade customers, who seem to be wildly unruly bargain hunters themselves as well. But that is another reason their customers' hasty decisions to end up with defected items. Hope this would one day dawn on the store management or training or HR or... All in all, not too great an environment to shop 'confidently', or so I surmised and did not step in for a while until I gave it another go the other day. That the premise stayed open unusually late and i was tempted to look supplemental gift stock and beyond.
And..wow! The line was so long that I could not wait until my turn would finally come after looking around and picked the items I was down with finally. This was the agonizing time waster in the holiday season, and I would hold it against them at the end of the night. Especially I had to abort the shopping. I was exasperated while I was in line but eventually, it dawned on me that I would probably not to get out of here within any reasonable amount of time. Come to think of it, though, this was not the first time I had to give up on this troubled operation and left (without completing shopping feeling both distraught and indignant) and that was exactly why I had not come back here for years. The question is why the store hadn't improved this long persisted and known issue in this premise while they were seemingly conscious of changing the floor layout and organizing? Just another suck-y location of the suck-y chain so go somewhere else if you can. I am sure you'd be better off. My mind is now firm that I would not even try to look in here because this would well be another timewaster and the source of exasperation, indignation, even, especially in this time of a year. Also, their clerks over all are the result of the HR disaster? Or could not this be helped because this was after all, Queens? You tell me, locals and most of all, the store yourself if you ever care what is happening in your chain and how you are really doing. read more
