Please give Arielle at the store in bayside, ny a raise! She was very attentive but not overbearing and so so helpful! I found a pair of boots that I loved that were too small but unavailable in a size 10. She found a similar shoe to compare for size which was too big and suggested insoles- I have been shopping at aldo for over 13 years and she is *the first* to suggest it! They fit perfectly with the inserts. This little suggestion completely made my day. I ended up ordering them in a 10 with inserts and cannot wait to get them in the mail. 10/10 for customer service. read more

Girlfriend Calls to see if they have shoes I'm looking for because it said it was available at the store online. The girl on the phone says she can't find it in the system and then hangs up. We decide to Uber there before they close but they already locked the doors and the girl inside said they're they aren't open even if there store hours are until 9pm. I came in tonight looking for a pair of heels for a wedding luncheon that I'm attending tomorrow. The girl that helped me was really friendly, and funny. Sadly, I didn't catch her name, but she was on the more petite side with great makeup and ombré hair. I tried on 2 different pairs of heels. She recommended a pair to me that was in a similar style of what I was looking for, that she said she tried on before and was really comfortable. She was right, the heels were very comfortable and I ended up buying that pair. Also it was on sale so I got it almost 50% off the original price. I'm very happy and satisfied with my purchase, the heels look great on me and are super comfy! read more

The 2 girls working today today were rude and obnoxious, they didn't even smile or greet their customers--Not the first time! The so called manager with dark black hair would not take my return with a receipt from my phone. When asked her name, she refused to say it and when asked for the corporate phone #, she hesitated to do so. They are always looking for excuses not to return the items. The other girl with frosted hair stands there like a statue and has no positive expression or body language. She looks miserable to the point that she doesn't want to be there, I'm sure Aldos can find a spot for her out of customers view and where she may be better suited--customer service is not her thing. This will be the last time I visit this location and I will definitely share my experience with everyone I know. That may explain why this location is never busy, perhaps, they should like at the way customers are being treated!! read more

I went here during the 2018 black Friday sale. Before I walked in the store there were signs everywhere saying everything was 50% off. I found a pair of shoes that I liked and I was told that they had the shoes, so I waited for them to to bring it out. Then they found out that they didn't have the shoes, but as I was walking out the store they determined that they did have them. This took about 20-25 minutes. I asked the girl who works there " these are 50% off right?" She said yes. When I went to the counter to purchase the shoes, it turns out they were only 20% off. Of course the signs that said that were much more smaller. The girl behind the counter said if I wanted to purchase some shoe cleaning spray. I said I wasn't interested unless they were good to clean Timberland style shoes. They assured me they were. When I got home I read the description of the shoe cleaning cream and the girl was wrong. After trying on the shoes with dress pants I decided I wanted to return them. So I went there two days later and they determined that since it was a Black Friday sale somehow I could not get a refund until a week later?!?... I asked to speak to the manager and she said there was nothing that she can do for me. I wanted to return the shoe cleaning spray I bought it since it was not on sale, and of course they said they don't take returns on any kind of cleaning products.... There are a lot of teenagers and young people who seem not to care about taking their job seriously at this place, I'm not trying to bash them because they are young it just seems they hired young people that don't care. Most of the information they gave on their own products are either wrong or they are lying. You would be better off purchasing shoes online and if they don't fit send them back and repeating as many times as it takes to find the right size before going to this joke of a store. read more

Nasty and rude. Asked for a specific shoe and told me these are similar in style try these on. Totally not what I even asked for. She picked them up off the front racks and threw them on the sofa. When I got another shoe I wanted there was only one in the box. Wasn't allowed to try both on. Pretty pathetic. Not sure if this is Aldo's store policy or miss nasty pants in the front. Sorry you work for minimum wage. Maybe if your attitude didn't SUCK you would be able to have a better paying job. Too bad my only option is to give 1 star. I would have chosen ZERO. read more

If I could rate my experience ZERO stars, I absolutely would. I am truly appalled how I was treated in this store. Let's start by saying I have never written a negative review in my life, but this experience inclined me to do so. I walked into Aldo to get a new pair of boots on 2/2/19 at around 6pm. While I was browsing, not one sale representative greeted me. While I found that odd I just browsed the shoes. I found a pair I was interested, so I proceeded to ask a sales rep if they had a size 7. After a quick examination she said this is a size 7, never offering me the other shoe. It was the first time I ever tried on one shoe. I also saw another pair of booties that I was interested in. I looked at the size and saw they were an 8.5, once again I walked to the front to ask for a 7. She scanned it and said this is like the last pair. Never offered to order it, or said what stores possibly had this available. To say I was disappointed with the staff is an understatement! I will be contacting corporate, I have been shopping here for years and NEVER encountered such poor customer service. I understand workers have a bad day, but these three women were in the front laughing and carrying on a loud conversation. It's safe to say these women should not have a job in retail!! read more

I need to write a review for this place because the only one that exists right now just isn't right. First of all, the person is from California so it's possible she is reviewing the wrong Aldo location. Even if she's not and happened to be in NY, my experiences shopping at Aldo have been only positive ones. The Bayside location carries most of what you will find online. Their accessory selection is limited but you may find some cute things. Last winter, I bought a cute gray hat with a knitted flower and a statement necklace, both 50% off. I never really thought about it before but most of my shoes are from here. I have flat sandals, heeled sandals, pumps, flats, wedges, and boots from Aldo. All of them have proven to be comfortable and I find that with most occasions, I wind up wearing shoes I already own from here - or driving over to buy a new pair. They have a nice variety of styles and their prices are reasonable, especially given that the quality has never let me down. Whether you are looking for a classic shoe or a more trendy shoe, Aldo is worth browsing. Their "funky" heels may end up costing about $100 but if you wait, you can buy them on sale online. One thing you need to know is that at Aldo carries only whole sizes. However, they sell an insert that basically transforms the shoe into a half-size, so if you're in-between sizes, there's an option for you. Their sizing is very consistent so after you know your size, you can easily take advantage of their online sales/clearance. The employees at this particular location are helpful but never on top of you. They ask if you want help selecting shoes, leave you to browse and are quick to bring out your size when you request it. If they don't have your size in that particular style, they offer ordering it for you online - free of shipping charges. The shoes can arrive at the store or at your house, at no extra charge. I did this once and they came quickly. If you look Aldo shoes, or are looking to try a new shoe store, this is a great location. read more

I'm always in the bay terrace shopping center so when I received a gift card for Aldo I knew exactly where I was going to go...bayside. I walked in and saw sale signs everywhere which made me a very happy girl!! When I walked in I went straight to the sale boot rack and when I picked a couple of pairs of boots, I had to wait to get help. Right as I picked out more pairs of shoes/ankle boots I finally got help. And let me say the guy that helped me was amazing! They didn't have some of sale boots I wanted but ensured me I could order them and buy at the sale price. I would say once you get your shoes/boots or whatever and have the attention of the sales person on the floor, you literally have their full attention. I love love love Aldo and I will definitely come back to this store to make another purchase. read more

I went in last Thursday to find shoes for my sister in-laws wedding with my friend and I don't even know where to begin!!! Upon walking in we were not greeted, after finding shoes there was three people behind the register, one of which was eating a sandwich.... He proceeds to come over and ask if we needed a size, he seemed pushy, after bringing the shoes he didn't even come to check on us. I feel like I needed some guidance on what type of shoe I should wear or even some suggestions! I got nothing, the store started getting more customers and he proceeds to yell from behind the register if anyone needed any help!i was confused I didn't know if I was in the park or in a shoe store!!!! Later to find out he was the MANAGER!! I've purchased shoes from Aldo's plenty of times but this visit made me question where I spend my money, needles to say I went to Macy's found a really cute pair of Jessica Simpson heels and because I had such a horrible Aldo experience the Macy's sales rep gave me an extra 20% off my purchase to make my day better!!! I called the store yesterday and the young lady assured me that she would put them on hold. My sister went to pick up the boot today, and was told that the manager sold the shoes. Terrible service. Please don't waste your time going to this location. You're better off placing an order online or skip Aldo altogether. The "manager" at this store could not ring up an item for me because there was no barcode on the tag, just the price. So I proceeded to bring every single one of the same item to the cashier's desk in hopes of finding a barcode on one of the tags and none of them had it. After about 15 minutes of waiting while she checked to see if she can find the item number online, I asked the "manager" to just ring me up for the price on the tag and figure out the inventory later. She refused to because she'd get in trouble?! Like what?! Okay so you'd rather lose a paying customer that was very patient with you than put in a little extra effort later to adjust your inventory? And if the barcodes are so important, why wouldn't every single item have it in the first place?
