I paid it up front and the very next day we received a call that the items were ready. My wife was appalled that he'd taken priority of the items and assured he would perform his best work to get them cleaned and looking brand new and that he did. I believe that we need to support small businesses like this because he's absolutely skilled in his craft and this is a dying art. When we arrived, we were fortunate to meet Raul again. He had helped my niece before, and once again he was so patient, helpful, and friendly. He really knows his products and immediately understood the type of rocker shoe I was looking for. He took his time with us, answered all our questions, and made sure I felt comfortable with the choices. Raul was just as attentive and helpful with my niece as well, which we truly appreciated. Mr Kim wanted to see my feet and size me. He asked me to take off my shoes and socks. He looked at my feet and said size 7w. I told him no I'm an 8.5 double wide. He asks me to try at least the 7.5w. I said yes. I put them on. ( sneakers). He told me to walk take my time. I could not believe the more I walked the better I felt. I said yes I want them. He told me to wait walk more. Same with mom except for her it was a bigger size instead. Mom says she has never had such comfy shoes in years. I told him I wanted to buy another pair. He said no. Take the one. Wear it a month. Then come back. I did. When I went back in a month I told him I was very happy ( ecstatic) and I wanted another pair. He said to humor him and put on the 7W now. I said yes. I loved it even more. Then he said let me out a different insert in. He did. I walked around. I couldn't believe it was even better. I am now in the 7W that he initially told me was my true size. I have more balance my back is better and my pain is much less in my feet. I am getting better. HE KNOWS ABOUT FEET TRUST HIM!! I will not go anywhere else. He has my complete loyalty. He explained everything from the beginning he cares about his clients. You just have to listen and have patience. This review is after 4 months and I'm so happy and so is my mom.

I then held up 9 fingers and asked if that was their hours and she proceeded to look at me- ignore me- then walk to the back of the store to continue what she was doing. She then came back to the register and refused to make eye contact. Really? The courteous thing to do would approach the door and just say "I'm sorry, we are closed." I looked at the hours after this exchange to see that they indeed closed at 8pm. (Thanks Yelp) Moral of the story. Be nice. I don't care that it's the end of your work day - just pay customers with respect.

It is bright and clean and easy to peruse the inventory. You simply pick out what you like and there are usually one or two people to get your size, make alternative suggestions and help you through the checkout process. My wonderful boyfriend is currently on a shoe kick so he asked me to come in to take a look at a beautiful pair of deep, dark brown suede boots with the toe and heel scuffed (the current trend---I don't know why the heck they had to scuff 'em! Makes them look used!), retailing at $200. The store is nicely decorated with that old money, Upper East Side vibe--on one side is women's and on the other, men's. Red suede chairs allow you to sit and try on shoes. But the store isn't solely shoes---they do have clothes for both sexes, not to mention some very nice accessories. And while Johnston & Murphy seems to be for those who work in the financial services area (and almost on par with Cole Haan's merchandise), there were a few more funky pieces---the boots my boyfriend was eyeing, as well as a red patent leather handbag. We sat and waited a good while for someone to help us with shoes. There were 2 or 3 other customers and only one salesperson. I thought perhaps this was a symptom of the economy---stores cutting back on staff. So we sat and waited until the salesperson, Gus, could help us. In between helping another customer, he asked for the shoe size needed, and brought us one--I said ONE--shoe to try on. Um, who buys shoes by trying on ONE? Well the one didn't fit. So we waited to get his attention and asked for a different size. Again, we were given ONE shoe to try on. Is this some kind of trick to get us to buy---again, economy related? Gus was now running around the store, ringing up customers, answering others' questions. I sat there and thought, "Okay. He's busy. He's the only one here. (I see one is a common theme.) We'll just wait." Well, this was a mistake. As if we hadn't had enough nonsense, Gus now gives us his full attention. He measures my boyfriend's foot---and since my boyfriend's a drummer, he has foot issues and usually gets his shoes a size bigger to accomodate. Aggressively, Gus starts going on about how he's sold shoes for 28 years and how my boyfriend doesn't need a size bigger; he needs a wide. Since we know which size is too small and too big, Gus says to buy the shoe the size in between from him today without trying it on because its out of stock--they have it in wide, but not in store. He'll order it for us and have it shipped to us and if we don't like it, we can return it to the store. "If you don't like it, I'll take the blame," he said. Dear reader, this went on for about 5 minutes straight with him telling us to buy it from him today. Absolutely ridiculous! I even offered that since we had to come back next week "to pick up a frame I was having engraved" (wink, wink), if he got the shoe in, we would come in and try it on! But as I mentioned earlier, this incident was economy related. :/ When we left, my boyfriend got on his iPhone, checked the Johnston & Murphy website and called their locations for the shoe in a wide in his size. Turns out the shoe DOESN'T COME IN A WIDE!!! Now I don't want to call anyone a liar, but if you go in and see a guy named Gus, don't say I didn't warn ya! Store is accessible, but around the clothes, it's a bit tight. I'm giving the store 3 stars based on quality and product. Minus 2 stars for Gus and the nonsense!

It takes at least 6 weeks to get a customized cheongsam. The quality of her pieces and the fabric used are well made compared to the store on Mott Street in Chinatown. They are way overpriced for cheap material premade cheongsam which you can buy online. Customized ones cost over $1500. That's too much to spend for only one night for a wedding. Go with Sylvia... hopefully she won't retire too soon.

The hanbok jacket was also way too short. It almost didn't cover the part of the skirt that covered my mother's chest. Having to pay extra money and not get what you ordered and it be dirty is extremely unacceptable and disappointing. When my husband and I told her about what happened she didn't say anything but "okay" and laughed a little. I definitely don't recommend this hanbok place.
