This was the cutest idea for my friend and I for our friends-a-versary hang out day. There's quite a few things.You can choose to decorate seeing that most of the hair accessories would not work with my type of hair. I ended up getting the phone stand (my old one is wobbly) to make my own. I tally had a great time finding charms and piping on the putty. The choices were endless! They also sold cute pre-made items, assorted blind boxes, and individual charms. Very cute.
We had a reservation, but the studio wasn't busy when we arrived. They have a huge selection of charms to choose from to decorate a claw clip, mirror, keychain, etc. I also liked the range of deco-cream they had - I chose a clear glittery one and it dried great!
Sooo many charms to choose from! Many were really unique and niche, which I appreciated! The staff here are so sweet and explain the process very well. They also accept credit card and Apple Pay now :) I came here for a deco hair brush and Croc Jibbitz! Ended up staying here for 1.5 hours just searching for charms and perfecting my creation. It can get busy on the weekends, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you are coming with a group of people! Charms are UNLIMITED (as long as it fits on your item), so bring the creativity and enjoy the options! The staff advise that you prep your items with the charms and find the placement you want BEFORE adding the glue! Also, practice piping the glue before putting it on your item - as it's basically permanent.
What a great way to spend an afternoon! My friend came here a couple months ago, and I saw the phone case she made and fell in love. I've always been an arts and crafts girly, so this was right up my alley. I chose to decorate a phone case (they have both iPhone and Android). The place was pretty busy, but that was expected because it was a weekend. The staff was really helpful in getting me a seat at a table and providing me with instructions. First, I picked out my charms. They gave me a little tray to hold all of them. I was so pleased with their charm selection. They must have thousands of charms overall! There were so many to look through and choose from, it almost felt like a treasure hunt. They also organize them by color, which was super helpful because I wanted to decorate my case with a color theme. Once I had my charms picked out, I sat down at my seat and began designing my case. When I was feeling confident in my design, it was time to pipe the decocream! There are a bunch of different nozzles to choose from, all with different textures and thicknesses. The staff also gives you a demonstration of different piping methods you can use to achieve different looks. That was helpful, because I've never piped before! After I finished piping and setting my charms in, the staff took my case and placed it in a box to dry. They secured it so that it wouldn't shift or slide to the sides and cause the decocream to be ruined. They let me know that it would be 7-10 days before the decocream was fully dried, and I am just counting down the days until I can use it. Literally every time I look at it, I get excited all over again because it's so cute! Would definitely come back with a group of friends or solo again. Perhaps next time I'll decorate some hair clips :)
The space was so well decorated with colorful items everywhere and neatly setup for people. There were wide selections of things we could DIY and the amount of Charms that we can choose from. From multiple shapes to different colors to multi tools to DIY the item that we chose. It wasn't too expensive for the amount of things they provided to us. So I would definitely say this is a fun activity to do with your friends or family. The employees there were quite nice and tried to get to everyone when was needed. Overall, it was good but the only was that it was overly packed even when people made reservations. So when it's packed, we had to wait for our table or wait to grab charms without bumping into people. It was a tad noisy as well with the amount of people in this space. If you aren't a people person, then I recommend to not go on the weekends or Friday.
Small but so so cute! We did have reservations and it was busy when we got there, but it cleared up really quick. Cute way to just relax and also hang out with friends! Everybody was very nice and helpful when you would ask them for questions! I chose the pink heart mirror that came out to be $25, with charms and the glue.
My daughter discovered this place on TikTok and really wanted to go, so we went on Black Friday. We got here at noon, right when they opened as a walk-in with no reservations (second ones there- no wait), and they were also doing a bogo deal, lucky us. The staff were really friendly and helpful, but since there's only 2 of them, they could be overwhelmed by the amount of ppl their trying to help. They offer a huge selection of charms and about 20 DIY items you can choose from as well as paintable plaster dolls, scented candles, and fluid items. My daughter opted for the iPhone case and hair claw clip ($42 for both w/ the bogo promo). You can choose the color(s) of the frosting-like adhesive, which is in a piping bag with tip and it takes 7-10 days to fully dry. Price includes the item and all the charms you pick out that fits on it. It's definitely pricey but worth the experience, especially when you have preteens. They do private/ regular parties too, by appointment only, and can accommodate up to 30 ppl/ Min. 6 ppl. My daughter had a good time here piping and designing her own case & clip. She was so happy & loved all their Sanrio charms. Not sure if the charms will stay on permanently after it's fully dry since some were already coming out in the box, but only time will tell.

Taking arts and crafts to a new level. This is the spot for the creative and artsy crowd. Not only do they offer beading, painting, crafting, there's candle making and custom keychains too. Lots to see and so many options of themed charms. Stickers and canvases are available too, to add to your custom design ideas. This is a cute space for you to "DIY" anything... Even your own cell phone case. Just check in at the desk beforehand so you can pick the item you want. I believe they take reservations so it is suggested if you're going on the weekend. Place gets packed even with such a large space. Price list is just the base price. Be mindful of add-on's which are not labeled but know if it's a figurine, a larger piece or fancier, chances are there could be an upcharge. I don't like that it's not disclosed but I was lucky to be within earshot of another customer there with her two kiddos and they apparently spent well over than planned. Please check with the staff before glueing anything down or be prepared to pay. Zelle and Android pay options available if you don't have cash. There are many character themed items to choose from. Tweezers and embellishments available, just ask. Glitter or colored glue options available too. I was here with three others and we spent about two hours in total. Note: business is located on the second floor. There is no elevator and their hours are noon-9pm. Give yourself extra five - ten minutes to use the hot air dryer after you're done decorating, this is to ensure your goodies are adhered to your items properly. And usually less is more but not here. They suggest using more of the glue to ensure a good stick.
Monster DIY Studio is such a wonderful place to have a great time being creative with friends or a solo date.The space itself is small but very well lit,clean,organized and enough space to move around/ be comfortable.I visited once in December for my birthday and July for a girls day with my 8yr old god daughter.Both times I had a wonderful time the menu varies with different projects the pricing is fair.Two young girls run it and they are very nice,patient and informative.There are sodas & water for purchase which is a nice touch.Id highly recommend it to anyone looking for a chill creative time! 10/10
Cute and fun spot! Great for kids parties :) I personally love the coloring bears! It's so much fun! Highly recommended if you're looking for something to do in flushing, the big bears are $38 for the one I made and the keychains are $10+tax, great activity to do with friends!
I have been seeing Monster DIY on TikTok the last few months. It looked like so much fun! I visit my friend in Bayside when I come to NY so it's super easy to go to Flushing. We made a reservation for 3 on a Saturday. We ended up decorating 2 mirrors, 1 jewelry box, and a hair clip. You decide what you want to decorate, then you pick out charms from a seemingly endless selection, then you get a demo on how to use the glue, and then you get to have the most fun. I loved it. We probably spent about 2-2.5 hours here. My 9 year old friend Scarlett loved it. I loved all the charms especially the Hello Kitty and food charms. It would make a great girls birthday party or girls night out! Highly recommend!
Highly recommend as an activity with friends or with a significant other! It's a really fun way to create something unique and one of a kind that can also potentially be functional (i.e., hair claw, phone case, etc). I chose the hair claw and my friend went with a jewelery box. Both items were reasonable priced, but on the higher end (I think it's worth it for the experience). We spent a good hour browsing through all the charms before gluing them on with the deco cream. You can easily spend a few hours here, so plan accordingly!! The service was also a highlight as the worker there was super helpful and provided instructions and tips on how to make the best product. She showed us which charms would work best with the cream and the piping styles that we could do as well. Both my friend and I were happy with our end products! I will come here again in the future!!

Such an adorable place. Fun had by all. Came here with some of the girls from my book club and creativity was just pouring out of us. Honestly the hardest part was choosing over a wide selection of what to decorate and how. The items were practical. I chose the phone holder and mirror. Coming back for the clock. We went to DIY Monster and it was amazing! The space is so cute and there are so many different things you can make. My children made books, and I made a phone stand this time the first time I came, I made a hand mirror! You can honestly be there for hours decorating it's so fun and relaxing. Their prices prices are reasonable . The staff Mandy and Archer were super nice, and everything is really clean. They also sell lots of cool things like Booboos, squishies, paint, and you can even do bear drips. Definitely one of our favorite spots! read more

Took my niece and sister-in-law here to celebrate my niece's birthday. The staff were very nice and helpful. We loved the selection of materials and things to decorate. After the demonstration given of how to apply the glue, it was very easy and FUN! We will DEFINITELY be returning!! read more

Super cute DIY studio. They are a small studio that prices DIYs by projects. I did the ID holder and it was $28 for the front. I had the option of adding decorations to the back for $10 more. This was so fun and a great activity to do with others. It is a small studio, it gets quite packed on the weekends and recommend reservations slots. I heard that walk ins are fine during the weekdays. Everyone there is super helpful and give you basics on how everything works. They have a wide selection of charms and projects. A unique artsy activity! We booked appointments online and then came here to make key chains. They have plenty of charms you can decorate with and it took us a while to select as they were also so cute. We ended up making 2 keychains each since there were so many designs. I believe they routine switch out their pieces so there will always be something new. A fun and unique experience and I highly recommend checking out this studio! read more

Originally came to Flushing with my girlfriend to do phone decorating at another place. It was closed so I looked up places around the area! Monster DIY was open and I think this was a blessing in disguise. They had way more charms than the other places I've been to and so many decoration options! I think you can even make your own phone charm and decorative photo frame! The employees were also very kind and helpful to my girlfriend and I. Forget all the other DIY places, this is the best one. After watching so many TikTok's on how to do decoden cases and clips, I ran here to see if I could do it too! We walked in with no reservation and we were able to grab a 2 seats and choose our clips and AirPod case to decorate. The attendant was super cute and helpful and encouraging. She made our sticky glue and attached the tip we wanted. You are able to pick an unlimited amount of charms which I think was fair due to the price of the items you choose to decorate. Overall a really cute and unique experience to make something you'll be proud of!!! read more

Hands down the best addition to flushing for anybody who loves adorable and cute things. I have been to another DIY place before, but now Monster DIY will be my official go to place for handmade gifts for myself, friends and family. What made them stand out wasn't only their huge selections of crafts to do, but was their amazing two staff members working that day, Michelle and Aiki. When it wasn't busy they were so helpful and attentive to our group, and even when it got busy and they were helping others, they would come to us straight after they were done whenever we requested for help. So don't be shy to ask for help, because they made the process more fun and easier. I am terrible at frosting so I asked them for help with ideas and if they could do the base for me and it was amazing to work with the experts! Quick tip: Even on weekdays they get super busy. I would say if you have a group of 5-6 go between 12-12:30 to get a table to yourselves, but anytime after that I feel like it would be very hard to get a table with your whole group. If you were like a smaller group(1-3) you would probably end up sharing with other smaller groups if it was super busy, which was definitely full after 1pm on a Thursday (president's week). read more
Came here with my friends for a birthday and had a lot of fun! Made reservations via their Instagram and got a response almost immediately. When we arrived, they had a table ready for us. Just wished the place was bigger. It was extremely overcrowded to the point where you couldn't get out of your chair without touching the person behind you. Also wish they would had better customer service. They didn't explain how we choose an item, what to do, supply tools.... nothing. We had to keep chasing down an employee to give us instructions on what to do and where to get supplies. Other than that, would definitely recommend but perhaps go on a weekday when it's not that overcrowded. read more
Came here during the weekend; owner asked if I made reservations (didn't know I had to), since it was early morning there weren't a lot of occupied tables; staff walked me through the DIY process and selecting the types of pieces for the selected art work. I selected 3x5 picture frame, and a cell phone case ($38 each). The small pieces of arts and crafts were really cute, as I placed into the basket; started wondering whether it will stick on a cell phone case; staff said to select pieces with flat edges so that it will not fall off easily; The glue to hold the pieces together can be mixed with color dye to enhance the artwork, though the glue doesn't really stick too well as small little jewels began falling off; staff gave me extra sticky glue for me to take home just so I can glue it back later. Overall, great time spent with my daughter, she truly enjoyed the arts and crafts. With Yelp check-in owner gave a complimentary hair clip. Nice! read more

We had our daughter's birthday party at Monster DIY Studio yesterday. The young lady who works there is a true professional. She managed the entire day by herself and all of our young guests were taken care of by her. She taught them how to decorate with the decocream and packaged each creation beautifully. She also allowed me to come the night before to set up so that everything would be seamless in the morning. She even gifted my daughter a cute stuffie at the end of the party! This is such a unique place for all ages to do a calm, creative activity for an hour. It took my girls 30 mins to just browse their millions of charms. I had parents telling me they loved it even more than their kid! Highly recommend an afternoon at Monster DIY or hosting a party there! read more

Cute spot. My sister and I took our nieces in celebration of one of their birthday. The girls had a lot of fun creating their craft. I decorated a fan and the quality of the product is great. All the charms are so freakin cute. The hosts are kind. The costs commensurate with the experience. They packaged our products very nicely too in what looks like pastry boxes. We were able to do other activities while carrying out packages without damaging them. Would love to come back with friends or a boo thang. Men, this is a cute date activity. read more

This is nice creative space for people that like to design different type of items. It's called monster studio but I didn't see many different types of monster pieces. The space is the size of classroom so make sure you book your table before it's too crowded in there. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. I made a reservation on Instagram but I feel like you can just walk in if you're coming on a weekday or a Sunday. I think Saturday is probably the busiest day. I picked a medium hair claw ($23) and my friend picked a small hand held mirror ($23). The price included tools, unlimited charms (just don't pick packaged large charms which were extra), glue, paint, glitter, and a cute plastic box to carry it home. Tax was also included since it's cash only (Venmo and Zelle available too). I think it's worth it since there's a large selection of charms, different colored glue piping bags, and large selection of items to make. The staff were nice and helpful but I do wish they would give instructions if it's your first time though. It would be helpful to know to use a lot of glue and that it would take 5 days to completely dry. I would come back, it's a fun activity to do with girlfriends or kids. They also have candle making and painting figurines. read more

I visited this place with my friend but because it was really late at night we only took a quick look around. I was amazed by the selection of charms that they had and by how cute everything was. I decided to get a Shin Chan mystery box and charm. I visited the place again with my sister the next day. I made a Doraemon themed ID holder for my friend and my sister colored a Shin Chan number painting. There's a great selection of things here. You can DIY your own phone cases, AirPod cases, hairbrushes, mirrors, phone stands, keychains, and much more. There are also fluid bears and number paintings. The place is amazing and all the staff members are really nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend spending time here with friends. read more

Would I be able to decorate an airpod max cover? If not would I be able to bring in my own and decorate it?..?
Currently, they don't have cases for the airpod max cover. But, if you would like to decorate it you can try bringing it in and let the staff members check if the material is suitable for the deco-cream or not.
Do we need to make reservations? Or can I just walk in?
Reservations are highly recommended for weekends or holidays (days that children are off from school). It does get quite busy so making a reservation can guarantee you guys to have a spot for it. However, typically weekdays are not as busy so…
