I hadn't been to an Ollie's since I was in Nashville nearly two summers ago. This store has plenty of parking. I had no problem pulling into a spot fairly close to the entrance and walking in. You can score some cool deals here. It depends on what you are looking for and need. I was here before Easter. There was some good deals on candy and chocolate. I'm sure that it would have been even cheaper after the holiday. I spent a lot of time in the housewares sections. Reusable straws. Frying pans. Tongs. Silicone cookie cutters. Pretty much everything was there. The quality is decent for what you are paying for. I liked some of the quirky items like Yummy Can Bacon where you can cook bacon strips in your microwave. I also liked an LED soap dispenser to make washing your hands more enjoyable. You can save a lot on food. Cereal was cheap with brands like General Mills. I saw a lot of canned items, such as soup and peas. There was a spill in an aisle. A female staffer was sweeping a powdered detergent mess. It did smell nice as I walked by it. Staff are everywhere, but they left shoppers alone. Nice! The book section was cool. Phone accessories were next to it. It was cool seeing wireless chargers and phone mounts for your car. I will always have a soft spot for steering wheel covers at Ollie's. I got one at an Ollie's in Nashville and still use it. It was nice seeing a variety of them at this store. If you are on a budget and like deals on pretty much everything under the sun, you want to come here. It's best to sign up for a free Ollie's Army account. For a moment, I thought this could be the new XS Cargo--a Canadian discount chain that closed down several years ago and I have longed for the return of. I was aware that many Amazon products that are returned get sold to liquidators, so I entered the store with expectations of pretty competitive pricing. What I found was a pretty broad collection of cheaper-quality products at, what seemed like retail or near-retail prices. In spite of signage assuring me otherwise, the discounts that I saw just quite didn't rationalize the purchase price for me. After all, some of these products may even be defective Amazon returns and the savings just weren't substantial enough to take that risk. While the products may indeed be acquired through a liquidation sale, or Amazon palette auction model, the price that consumers like me see doesn't quite reflect that. It feels like someone's making a handsome markup here.

The employees are helpful and the self checkout is a great idea....it gives the employees more time to straighten the T-shirts instead of standing at registers. I like that they offer hand sanitizer on your way in or out and while I was there I saw employees wiping down surfaces being diligent on COVID-19 safety practices. 5 Below is a fun store to browse and I bet you find something you just have to have....for $5 or less....it's a deal!

The lighting was bright, the cold cases were spotless and filled. Abundance and assortment was the order of the day. Staff was loading shelves while we shopped, and empty boxes were well under control, not splayed across the floor, which is so common in other discount grocery stores. When trying to browse purses, there were bags all over the floor as well as the tissue paper scattered. The clothes section didn't real me in at all. Obviously I need to update that picture with one when they're actually open, because when they are open it's crazy busy. Nevertheless, there she is in all her glory. Open every Sunday from 9-5pm, the hours of a true Flea Market, and boasting an admission price of only $0.25 I believe. You too can partake in the adventure of a lifetime. This place has it all, and none of that dollar store crap. I've found so many amazing deals here that I actually have to restrain myself from going every week. They usually even have local farmers selling produce outside. There are 3 giants rooms filled with booth after booth and you can easily kill a few hours here. Take your time and look carefully, there's a lot of junk in there and you really have to scan through everything to find the gold. They also have a small restaurant, which doesn't really have much that I can eat other then fries, but it's there if you need it. One quick tip: If you drive around to the back of the building, you should be able to find a decent parking place because no one seems to think there's parking back there, along with a separate entrance.

They've torn the daily prices off the big signs, but it's supposedly 3 dollars on Tuesdays. There's a terms and conditions posted on the front door. No opening things without a team member (if you can find one), no refunds. We maneuvered around a pile of mismatched carts through the cleaner half of the store stocked with higher price kitchen gear and beauty products to the back room bumping radio tunes. There were tables littered with taped up online returns, most from marketplace type vendors based off the labels we tried to decipher off the side. (The internet helps typing in some of these titles to help the guessing game.) I noticed some packages still had the names of the original buyers on them as well. We shuffled through it all, finding mostly junk. I may have been a bit more picky than the others, only getting a dish rack that comes with no assembly instructions. I think it caught the cashier off guard, as I set it on the counter and waited two minutes before he realized I was buying it and that he needed to set his phone down. I paid my 3 cash with a 20 and he struggled to make change for another solid minute, mumbling at us. My mates were able to pay by card, albeit with a convenience fee. When I had excused myself to the bathroom, I found that there was no soap and no towels available. Ended up shaking my hands to dry them off. I'm shaking my head too, that no, we will not be coming back. Maybe it would be different on a restock day at the higher price, but with Goodwill and Savers right up the road, this traffic battle ain't worth it.

This has been true well before Covid. Either way I don't mind. I go on days when I have time. My issue is the staff is always quite short and rude. Very rarely is anyone pleasant. I'm not saying bow at my feet when I walk in but reciprocating a greeting and eye contact when being asked a question goes a long way. I ordered 136 vases and candle holders online for my wedding. I went to pick it up and the cashier was clearly annoyed as she was the only one available. I had no problem waiting. I understand the pressure to get the line down when you're the only one cashing people out. After a short wait another employee came up and was directed to get my order. She went to the back and brought it right up. Now having bought mass quantities before I know I have to present t ID and sign. The cashier was still busy and said I didn't have to sign. Ok, fine. I took the shopping cart and told them I would return it. I unloaded and brought it back in the store. When I came back in. I offered to sign the paper and make sure it was set because I didn't want anyone to get in trouble. The same cashier seemed beyond frustrated with me at that point. So much for doing the right thing huh? Exasperated she said "It's fine if you're fine with it". It was the delivery for sure. I nodded and just walked away. Right now I'm going there for convenience but I'd rather go to other stores.
