This place has something for everyone (at least in our family). My kids and I spent quite a bit of time looking at all the different anime figures, and mini-figure collections that they had. We also heavily debated which snacks/treats we were going to get. The selection of snacks/drinks was on par with convenience store selections I saw when traveling in the Philippines (and then some). While this type of stuff does not typically appeal to my wife, they also had a wide selection of Asian beauty products, which occupied all of her time. This place is clean, huge, and moderately priced given the distinct products that they offer. I must say, I could spend hours in these types of places looking at all the mini-figures and variety of snacks. If you're looking for hard to get snacks Asian snacks and such, this is definitely a stop for you. CELEBRITY RATING - Donny Yen

He told me they would be happy to provide a small discount, which I greatly appreciated. A few days later, I returned to make the purchase, only to be told by the manager, Jackal, that they had changed their mind. While I understand that policies and decisions can change, the way the message was delivered was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. Because of that experience, I will not be returning.

Who doesn't love high end and designer labels at bargain prices? I've always been a fan of TJ Maxx…read moreso having this one located at the Heights strip mall is a bonus. There is plenty of parking and there are many other stores and restaurants I use, like Kroger, Target, Panera, Starbucks and Applebees, conveniently nearby. They stay open until 9pm most nights which makes it a great place to stop in the evenings after work. The shelves and racks are always well stocked and the selections are great. I shop for apparel, luggage, shoes, housewares and even picked up an amazing baby gift in my last visit. There are so many high end finds for discounted prices! My very favorite thing to browse for are health and beauty products. They carry a range of items from basic to luxe and also many vegan options. :) The fitting rooms are spacious and have tons of large mirrors to give you looks at all angles. One drawback to this store is that help is sort of scarce if you have a question about a product and the cash warp can sometimes be very slow. But other than that, this TJ Maxx location is pretty primo.

On a recent visit to Nordstrom-Twelve Oaks, my friend had an appointment to get a dress altered for…read moreher son's wedding. I was along for moral support. Upon arriving in the women's department, we asked Ann where we should go for alterations. Ann couldn't be bothered to show us where to go, she instead pointed to a nearby fitting room. We then asked Deborah, and she took the dress, found a fitting room for my friend and promptly called the alterations department. Thank you Deborah. After the alterations were complete, it was suggested to my friend that she open a Nordstrom credit card in order to get back the alteration fee in Nordstrom notes. Deborah so kindly started the process. 45 minutes later, after being transferred around to four or five different departments on the phone, Deborah called for a manager. Kurtis, the manager, was finally able to finish the process. Had the alteration fee not been so steep ,we would have walked away. Truly, ridiculous. Kurtis did provide us a free lunch in the Bistro, for all the time wasted. While waiting for the approval process, I wandered into the lingerie department to look for a specific brand of underwear. There was no one working in the department. I had to find someone from another area and of course the sales person immediately said that wasn't their department. What has happened to Nordstrom and their sales team? Nordstrom was always the gold standard for customer service. Perhaps they should take a lesson from Von Maur- There are always plenty of people working and you are always asked if you need help. I am not sure why I would go back to Nordstrom.

Never truly understood how this place stays in business year after year.. it's been a staple of the…read moreMain Street commercial district for years, but I've never figured out why. The clothes are not particularly chic or stylish or unique- it's an overpriced J Jill or Coldwater Creek for the middle aged set. As far as customer service? Meh.. style, uniqueness, variety or quality of stock? Meh.. rye clothes are overpriced and off middling, lackluster style and quality in my book... I could never find anything I'd be willing to buy at even a deep discount other than perhaps a standard issue black tank top, which I can buy anywhere by virtually any design house at any price.. let's be real, a pair of flowy , crinkled rayon loose pants by some random label are not worth $119- and I literally just spotted that very item at that very price. A coordinating tunic/top at a comparable price tag, etc, some boring white tops, a few tank tops, some button down top/tunics that I wouldn't buy and some accessories too middle aged for me are status quo. Price points? It isn't outrageously pricey for the area, yet the prices were too high for what they're offering... As for layout/displays? The boutique definitely is laid out well, but that's about all I can say. The shop is clutter free, clean, well laid out.. If I was a stay at home soccer mom type, who goes to church events and was not into mixing street style with high and low pieces, perhaps this might be my speed, although I doubt it. Even if I was older or had kids, the clothes still wouldn't be upmarket or unique enough for me and I dislike the 'higher end' price tag on items that decidedly are not high end or even mid range luxury. While I did get a quick greeting from a sales associate (some food in the store didn't rate a glance or a hello, so perhaps I should feel impressed), it really wasn't friendly and I could tell by her response that she was totally uninterested if I was browsing or buying. Nothing I saw even looked like something I'd see in a fashion magazine or on a Saks or Macys website. If I want to pay those prices, and I often do, I want style and quality- so I'd rather buy something from Michael Kors and know it's worth the $. Not for me... sorry.. ...
