Came here for a few items. I was pleased with the selection. They have their holiday theme gifts and decor out which is perfect. I will say, I did find it harder to find the girls pajamas. Also it would be nice if they carried more women's size 5 shoes. read more

Love being followed in store as a pregnant person by a xenophobic and bigoted security guard in a pretty busy store, and then repeatedly being asked if I would like to open a Marshall's credit card after repeatedly telling the cashier that I'm not interested as soon as I pull out my personal credit card. If you're not being discriminated against, they try to exploit you. Both happen when I'm shopping alone and never with my spouse. POS store. read more

I should start by saying I have NOT actually bought anything here yet. It's hard to window-shop because the store is on the upper level in the condo/Whole Foods complex at 51st and Lake Park. My sister has been there a few times, and after going to terrible Ross on 47th for a simple pair of small gloves and finding none, this was a GOOD alternative (51st street is about a half mile away, people!). It was on a weeknight 5:30 or so and there was lots of merchandise out. I will head in soon to try on clothes to see if the smell and customer service has improved. read more

I enjoy shopping at the Marshall's location. Several of their team members recognize me from my frequent visits and always greet me with a warm and friendly hello or welcome back or happy to see you again. One of their valued team members, Stephanie, is always personable, patient and greets each customer with a smile. I recommend this store and love to give them all of my money. LOL!!! read more

I'm a big fan of Marshall's and the fact that it is so close is dangerous when you just moved and you know they have great deals everyday. They do have a head count when you enter and leave the store. They have someone to wipe down the cart when you enter. You have to wear a mask and so do the employees. They have the arrows on the floor but many people including myself forget about them. They wipe down the register area after each customer. For now this is our new normal and although I can't share my apartment with friends and family right now with all the deals I've found I look forward to sharing my space with them again. So, get out safely when you can and get yourself and your place ready for friends and family with some great deals. As always folks Enjoy! read more

This is a nice store in the Hyde Park community. They have a parking lot in the same building where you can get free parking is validated or street parking. It's not far from the metra or bus stop ( the number 2, 6, and 15) The store is pretty clean. This Marshall's doesn't seem to be as big as some of there other stores or locations, but they do have some pretty good deals. I had an opportunity to use the dressing room briefly which smells like hot onions mixed with corn chips (star lost). A fan or air freshener....anything to assist with the smell will be nice. The staff seem friendly and are willing to help. read more

I've reviewed this Marshalls before but my review got deleted. Me and my girlfriend have visited this place various times for home goods, lotions and other various things. Prior to this I've never really gone to a Marshalls because they didn't seem appealing. The store is great. It's definitely has plenty of things you wouldn't expect from a store the associates are definitely nice as well. Definitely recommend to check it out. read more

Customer service? What's that? From the day the store opened, I've wondered if there was an on boarding process or if the job app had one question: "When can you start?" There's never anyone on the floor to assist customers. The associate I did find barely answered my question and walked away. I went to the dressing room to see if that associate could answer my question (since she's the only visible person on the floor.) She tells me to ask a cashier in the front--which means I'll be standing in line to ask the question... I did that... and wouldn't you know, the cashier not only doesn't know the answer, but makes no attempt to find one. I'll stick to shopping online. read more

Great service! Greeted upon entry and by every employee I passed. Asked about buying chairs and the young lady, Latarra went and got a flatbed and took the chairs to the front. She also brought them down to the garage. Very helpful. read more

It's great to finally have a place in Hyde Park where you can buy basics like bras and capris, without having to trek it on a train or bus. Pretty good selection, and everything gets picked through enough that they keep bringing in new stuff. Fairly typical of a Marshalls, and you can find some gems if you look long enough. My big complaint, though, is the white woman in charge of the dressing/fitting room. She's clearly extremely uncomfortable with black and brown people and treats us like children who need to be scrutinised extra carefully and has a hard time not being gruff. I figured she was just dealing with the stress of a job that's fairly thankless, and a new one as well -- until I noticed how different she was with a white customer -- it was all friendly chattiness with her, honey this and honey that (and no, she clearly did not know the woman), and a completely different set of manners. I was about to give this four or five stars until my experience with the dressing room attendant. Hyde Park is a majority black/brown area -- if this woman cannot deal with people like me, she needs to be transferred to a different part of the store and duties or maybe migrate northwards where her discomfort with brown and black people will be less visible, perhaps. Until then, Marshalls, I'm quite uncomfortable buying clothes here -- fix this. Everyone else on your staff is friendly and inviting, and this woman just ruins the experience. read more

Their customer service was terrible. My 2 year old son found a truck at the toys department. He really wanted to have it but there was no tag and code. I asked them finding the way to buy that truck. But they said "no". That was why there was no tag. First, they needed to remove products which have no tags. Second, they had responsibility to find the way that the customer wants to buy some products in the store (finding similar products to check the price, etc.) they did nothing. My boy was so upset and crying a lot. I was upset because of their attitude. I don't want to go there again. Not recommended anyone. read more

This used to be my favorite go-to retailer for linens. But this particular site is really a disappointment. I've been watching for the last couple of years and the supply of sheets, pillow cases and towels is growing slimmer by the month. Today there were 2 face clothes, no towels. They haven't carried duvet covers or pillow shams in years. Today I noticed the section that used to have glasses and dishes has been replaced with a wall of dish clothes and oven mitts. No more glasses and plates. It makes me wonder if they're going out of business. read more

This store has very, very poor customer service. I have only been successful shopping in the Men's Dept. for casual tops. You have to literally hunt (with no help whatsoever from staff). When they pretend to find someone to help, they page someone that is always "On A Break". The only time I make an attempt to shop here is when I have worked up "A Shield of Patience". The prices are good, but the stock and customer service don't exist. read more

This Marshall's location is has a decent selection home decor and apparel. I was able to go in and locate a few essential tops that I like pretty quickly. The store women's section was well maintained and organized. I wasn't searching the racks for the correct size. The staff were friendly and very helpful. They even provide proof for parking. It is a convenient location from where I work. So this is another plus. read more

I love Marshall's and have shopped with this retailer since high school. You can always find anything from house hold items, personal grooming, the latest fashion trends all for an affordable price. I'm glad we finally get a location in Hyde Park. I was also surprised at the fact there was free street parking right in front of the store. Those are two words you don't hear often in Chicago anymore "Free parking" is almost non existent. They also have garage parking and when shopping in the store can be validated upon exit. I came here on a whim not looking for anything specific and honestly didn't think I'd find anything. I wound up finding a pair of Air Force Ones that recently retailed at $180 for $34. STEAL! There were only 2 left and as I was trying them on a woman noticed and complimented me on them so at this point I had to get them. I love when I find new pieces to add to my wardrobe and feel as if I got away with something free. The store was clean and organized and let's just say I hope it stays this way. I noticed one of the staff members working diligently and was almost hesitant as I didn't want to stop her flow of work. There was no other staff around And when I asked her about a certain item; instead of her pointing me in that direction she actually walked over to help me look for what I needed. read more

Good customer service and very clean however, when I got to the register the cashier tried to sign me up for a credit card and I clearly stated I was not interested in a credit card. I'll do a rewards card all day long but currently I am about to make a large purchase and I don't need anymore inquiries on my credit. So either the cashier didn't know the difference or was trying to pull the wool over my eyes. I'm not going! Needless to say I went home and signed up online. read more

Because of the parking in Hyde Park, I have always avoided shopping in that area. Now we have those damned parking meter fiasco to contend with and Marshalls is only going to provide 90 minutes of free parking. It takes a woman 90 minutes just to decide to buy a purse. NO THANKS!!!! That goes for Target as well who is offering only 1 hour (60 minutes). HELL NO to those stores without free parking. read more

Have been here numerous times since it opened. Always great service. They staff well and the lines move fast which I appreciate. I've found mostly home and kids stuff. Some great light furniture options too. read more
