Let The buyer beware!! I was in need of 2 extra keys for…read moredifferent objects. I went to Burggraf's Ace Hardware to have them made. One of the keys they made worked, the other did not. I used the other original key just before leaving home with no problem. The lock opened (as I expected it would). When I returned home I tried the new key and it would NOT open the lock. To my surprise neither would the original! Returning to the store a different employee said the original key looked bent and he tried to straighten it. He informed me he would speak to the store manager and the owner and that perhaps I would have to go to Minnesota Locksmith. I said in order to save a "house call" I would bring the item to the locksmith. The following day, before going to Minnesota Locksmith, I phoned Burggraf's Ace Hardware and was told the manager and owner declined to help me with this matter. I don't hold the young man that made the keys responsible. Mistakes happen. All I know is the key worked when I brought it to the store and now I'm left without the ability to open the lock! Thank goodness for the owner of Minnesota Locksmith. He did everything in his power to help resolve my dilemma - even reaching out to someone else. Thanks to Burggraf's Ace Hardware the lock is inoperable. So, when you need a key made go to a reputable merchant like Minnesota Locksmith. You'll be glad you did! Patty A.

I had dismissed this as merely a hardware store. I was wrong…read more I had visited the nearby Zup's grocery store for mouse traps (among other things). I didn't like the selection, and decided to try Julie's. I had also visited Zup's Dollars for stationery and a pen, but the selection was poor. Julie's True Value met both my needs. The mouse trap selection was diverse. As for the pens, I was overwhelmed by the options. If that wasn't enough, they have yarn, and embroidery floss. I could tell from a glance that they had the normal hardware stuff, but it is also a craft shop. I was impressed. I know where to go for such materials the next time I'm in the area!

I've tried contacting Home Depot to provide them with this information as it appears that we are not alone in our criticism. This reflects very poorly for Home Depot but with all of the comments and issues, they apparently do not care. Just this morning I called because I had not properly clipped the dipstick in my sander and it blew out causing a big mess. The guys at Denny's did not have a dipstick, so instead of sending me down the road, they actually unboxed a machine that was outside in the cold, stole the dipstick from that engine and ordered themselves another one for that engine. I was able to go to work! It's very difficult to have a business in a town like Duluth and try to serve everybody and still make a living. I think the guys at Denny's do a great job and that's where I buy all my small engine stuff.
