A cautionary tale. In late December I ordered a Milwaukee Packout item from ACME Tool and like most I took advantage of the "free shipping". If your not already aware that free shipping DOES NOT require a signature for delivery. So depending on your area and the level of "porch piracy" and or how dimwitted your delivery driver is (in my case FedEx) you are NOT covered if the package goes missing. This stated I contacted ACME Tool and was simply told to contact my local Police Department. I had already called them as was told that it would be very unlikely to recover my item. I also called FedEx and filed a complaint about how the delivery was handled. Driver left package on my front porch right in front of the door. In the wide open for any and all that pass by to see. FedEx gave me a reference number and told me to contact ACME Tool and instruct them to file a claim, the item would be covered. So I called ACME Tool about a week ago and gave them the required information. Fast forward to today, I called them to check up on the matter and was told they did not and will not contact FedEx. That I need to take up the matter with the local police. So please be aware that if you have trouble with your delivery you'll get little to no assistance from ACME Tool. read more

I honestly do not know why Acme gets a bad rap. I have ordered things in the past that were on back-order, and it took a while because they were not available to anyone, yet. Some things can take a little longer to ship depending on how they are stocked and sales but most things have shipped for me within 24-hours. Recently, I ordered a router table kit (table, top, and fence) at a great price. The table box had come open during shipping and about half the hardware was missing. Everything else was pristine. I was worried I would have to ship back the top and fence, which I had already partially assembled. This would have been a mess! I called support and spoke with an English Speaking American. I was able to easily communicate that everything was fine, but I was missing hardware. The representative said he would keep me posted, contact the manufacturer, and see what they could do. Normally, I do not like being left in the cold and trusting representatives to pull through. Not 3 hours later, I had a follow-up. The representative had contacted the manufacturer and replacements would be shipped the following day, and the replacements did, in fact, ship the following day. It has been about a week, and I received another follow-up from Acme to make sure the replacements arrived and everything was okay. I had received the replacements and finished assembly, last night. This could have gone bad in many ways, but instead, everything ended up perfect with minimal effort on my part. Things can go wrong with manufacturers, suppliers, and shippers, but it comes down to how a company handles these problems. Buyer Beware - Acme Tool blatantly lies on their website! I have a dust collector that is down. Figured let's upgrade at the same time. After a lot of research, I selected this machine. Then I shopped on the web. While everyone's price was exactly the same, Acme advertised that this item was in stock and shipped by Acme. It says it would ship the same day and it gave me a delivery date of 9 days from the date of my order. SOLD. A few days have gone by... still waiting to ship. I called Acme and spoke with customer service supervisor Kelly who was very nice... but explained that they do not have these in stock. They never have these in stock. They ship from the manufacturer. It can take them 3-5 days to prepare to ship. No tracking or eta is available until it ships and they provide Acme with an update. I explained my dissatisfaction with this transaction. She explained that "this is how they want us to list this on the website." It's nothing short of false advertising. I explained my frustration and the importance of a short delivery. I asked if she could expedite the shipping. She said that was not possible. I asked if she could get an update from Laguna. She said she would do so when she got a chance... (what does that mean?) and would get back to me when she heard something... She said Laguna is not very responsive and it takes a long time for them to get back to them. I asked if she could adjust the price or adjust the shipping fee. She said that was not possible. I asked her to please follow up and confirm she had the correct contact information for me. She said she would when she could and would get back to me, but no idea when. I am very disappointed in this company and their way of doing business. They did not make a mistake. They purposely advertise themselves as having items in stock that they ship themselves. This is not true. When I expressed my concerns, the support was less than adequate. It's not like I just purchased a set of drill bits for $20. I just spent over $4,000. You would think they would want to help me achieve a positive result. The lackadaisical response certainly didn't make me feel like my business was valued nor was my issue important. We ordered a Kawasaki engine on Sept 9th with the expected delivery date of Sept 12th-Sept 14th. The Engine was delayed at a local Fed Ex Facility for 15 days. Multiple calls were made and a investigation was done with the end result of the package being lost. A Replacement engine was sent out Sept 30th with a delivery date of October 4th. The Engine once again is lost at the same Fed Ex Facility. We called Acme on October 9th, after being placed on hold for a bit Acme states they have issued a refund since the issue has happened twice at that Fed Ex Facility. While I understand Fed ex's ineptitude is not Acmes fault, a better resolution should have been provided. Such as using a different shipping company for this order if Fed Ex is unable to keep track of packages. Basically we spent 32 days waiting on a badly needed engine only to be forcefully refunded. The Customer Support team are respectful and I appreciate their attempted help but this has been truely the worst customer experience I have had in 15 years of owning a business. read more

This is the email I just sent to ACME Tools. I placed an order on November 19th for some Dewalt lithium ion batteries and a "Free" jigsaw tool 20 V X-RAY Max. I paid $200 and received the batteries. NO JIGSAW AS ADVERTISED. I received emails from your company on 11/27/21, 12/4/21, 12/9/21, 1/1/22, 1/16/22 and 1/30/22 stating that I should expect delays. I checked your website on January 16 and you had the jigsaw in stock. Your company replied that this was a promotional jigsaw and you could not use your stock to fulfill my order from your company. That was ridiculous at the time and still is. Don't sell what you don't have! Take care of your customers and don't take their money if you can't provide them with the product. AGAIN, you had this item in stock. It has been TWO months since I have received any email updates from you and FOUR MONTHS SINCE YOU TOOK MY MONEY FOR A PRODUCT YOU SOLD AND DIDN'T DELIVER. Bait and switch. They changed the product web page and will not honor the original order. I pre-ordered the new EGO electric blower kit, which contains the blower, a 5ah battery, 550W fast charger, and a shoulder strap. The one I received does not include the shoulder strap, and the charger is a slow one. The order confirmation email shows the shoulder strap and fast charger. The delivery email shows the shoulder strap and fast charger too, but the webpage that the emails link to has been changed, and the strap and fast charger are gone, replaced with the slow charger. I contacted customer service and they just told me I received what I was promised. This is BS. The difference is worth less than $50 but this is not right. If they just told me in advance that they made a mistake about the webpage, I would have been fine. Instead, they just changed the product webpage without saying a word and send me the lesser kit, expecting me to swallow it because I wouldn't want to pay the return shipping of the big box. I ordered a band saw which represented as back ordered 3-5 weeks. After ordering it became 9-10 weeks. Appears as if they need balance sheet orders. Canceling the order was met with no response. Item is now updated to unavailable, as most likely always was. A claim thru payment had to be made to retrieve my funds as they made irrational statements of processes. They are the worst online retailers. The first purchase was made several months back when I ordered a couple of tools, which their site said was "In Stock" for both tools. I placed the order, then got a receipt that says one of the tools was NOT in stock. So I called to cancelled. Then on Labor day weekend sales, they had a 10% off coupon (comes out to $65 off vs my local hardware store of $25) for an Ego mower I wanted that was "In Stock will ship in 1 business day". Since COVID, I'm more at home now so I cancelled my lawn service and wanted to cut the lawn myself, I placed my order. I got the receipt that says "In Stock. Will ship in 1 business day". Two business days later I still haven't gotten a shipping notification. I called but waited too long. So I emailed them but got no response for a couple of days. Then I went on their site to log into my account and email them there. Two days later a sales rep replied saying they "oversold" their stock and wouldn't be able to ship until 2 months later. REALLY!! IT TOOK YOU ABOUT A WEEK TO LET ME KNOW YOU'RE OUT OF STOCK?!? YOUR SITE LIED!!!! So my lawn can't wait 2 months, I had to make a local purchase. By this time the $25 local coupon had expired. Because they failed to keep their inventory in check, I'm out $25 of savings. I would NEVER attempt to make a purchase through them again. I didn't say "buy" because both purchase attempts didn't go through...so in retrospect it's good that I didn't spend a penny on them. I received an email the order was processed, item in stock and available to ship. 4 days later I receive an email the order cancelled due to security reasons. The compressor was a gift for the 6th. I purchased a Ricon bandsaw from them. It said item was in stock on the website. I received items that I ordered afterwards without even being notified of a delivery time for the bandsaw. After a week I called Acme. They said that the item is shipped from the manufacturer, which means it is not in stock. They supposedly contacted the manufacturer while I was on the phone. When the returned I was told that I would be hearing from the supplier/shipper within the next couple of days. Five days later and I still have had no notice of the status of the delivery so I call Acme back. They again call the manufacturer and tell me it will be shipped tomorrow. When I asked what the delay was, I was told the manufacturer had a paperwork problem. I wasn't satisfied with that answer, so I called the manufacturer. At first, I was confused that they charged a separate fee of $1.00, when they stated on my final receipt $59.00. One dollar or not, you have to tell me you're charging me extra and what for.
