Dave wanted to deliver purchase #2, rather than wait for #3. We were assured that additional fees for delivery and disposal would not be assessed with the 3rd and final delivery Fine, we paid the delivery and disposal fees, on the items delivered in August, then checked in occasionally . At last, the chairs arrived and were delivered October 24. We paid the final bill, and delivery was waived. Again, delays, no problem. But 2 recliners for disposal were not picked up, which we did not initially notice. Flash forward to today, my wife calls Dave, begins to remind him of his promise, and he goes OFF on her, raised voice, rude. I call to deal with him, I introduce myself, describe our situation, and then say to him "this is what I think, Dave.." He interrupts and says '"and I'll hang up on you, too." Then hangs up. I don't give a damn about delivery/disposal fees. I DO care about customer service, and I DO care about a grown man yelling at my wife over a simple negotiation. After spending literally thousands at his store, showing patience, and planning future purchases, THIS is the way he treated us. I recommend that you NEVER become a customer. We're done. I have been in customer service most of my life, and have never experienced anything like this as a customer. We will not be following through on plans to purchase further items.

I will never step into a Slumberland again. We needed a mattress and were anxious to buy, but it…read moretook forever to get someone's attention. The associates were clearly interested in helping customers who were dressed better than we were. We found a mattress we wanted and we were told it was the last one but we could have the floor model. We were fine with that and made the purchase and scheduled delivery. The store called on the day of delivery saying they needed to delay for a couple of days. On the day they did deliver, they arrived late with a completely different mattress than the one we purchased. We called the store immediately and told them we received the wrong mattress (extra firm rather than medium and a different brand). The store said that they were aware of the switch. During the delay in the delivery period, they sold the mattress we already paid for to another customer and delivered it to them. We were told the mattress we received was comparable in price and we should be fine with it. We explained that we didn't want a mattress that firm and and regardless of price it wasn't a suitable substitute. They told us to come in again and choose a different mattress. When we returned to the store we were treated like garbage. They gave us two mattress to choose from that were cheaper than the original. We chose one and it was eventually delivered and the mistake mattress taken away. We wrote to the manager of the store but never received any response. We then wrote to the corporate office and eventually got back a short note saying our concerns were forwarded to the store manager. No one bothered to contact us, no apologies. Management may have changed since this experience, but the execrable customer service was store wide and extends to corporate management. Today we went to a completely different store to purchase a new mattress and had an excellent experience that got us what we wanted and made us feel like valued customers. It was a night and day difference from the experience we got from Slumberland. We will write a positive review for the other business, but the good experience reminded us how Slumberland treated us and encouraged us to warn others away from giving their business to a company that treated us so badly.

The service technician came out and quickly assessed the problem and said that the part to repair the switch would take one to three months to arrive. We went back to the Hermantown location and explained our problem with the love seat to the salesperson and manager. Both individuals were very professional and willing to help us and ultimately provide us with a fair and reasonable accommodation. What could have been an unpleasant experience did not transpire because of their outstanding customer service.
