Seriously one of the cutest bookstores I have ever been to. Outside they painted it to look like books on a shelf. Indoors is small but long with lots of books. They might not have as many books as a Barnes and nobles but they have staff that can help you order books you want. The display were very cute and in their selections I found j book I never heard of but definitely will be reading. Actually I started it then stopped because I am reading another book on my kindle and listening to another on my audibles. They also have several small trinkets. I could spend a long time in here . The books aren't going to have that massive sales price but seriously these small bookstores are gems. We would be supporting them because they feel more like a cozy shop than a huge corporation. read more

What a feast of a book store!!!!! There is space to browse and a great selection of books.

First off it's a very nice bookstore with a lot of selection and decent prices. Seemed great at first until we checked out and the lady was short and seemed like she didn't want to be there. I get people have bad days but no need to be rude especially to people who drove over two hours to visit and made a purchase. All in all decent store, ehhh employee. read more

We stopped in here on a Sunday when we were up in Duluth for the day. Super amazing selection!! I loved the layout of the bookstore and appreciated the recommendations that could be found. They have a really varied selection of books and they flow of the bookstore works well. They have a kids section at the back, some really high quality used books that don't even look used, super cute totes, book lights and puzzles for sale. They also have a nice selection of both hardcover and paperback books. It is a great place to get lost in for an afternoon. Highly recommend stopping here if you are in town! read more

The mural! The outside of the store alone is enough to lure any bookworm inside. My mom and I spent a good hour here browsing the stacks and left with our fair share to add to our own shelves. The owners were friendly and knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Fantastic selection of both used and new books, as well as a few mugs, postcards, etc. with bookish themes. Zenith Bookstore just got a massive facelift this last summer and has now been revamped. This is a nice community bookstore that offers a wide variety of books, from used to new. I enjoy coming in here from time to time to browse what new books they are carrying. The used books a priced very fairly, usually under $10. The building itself is old but clean and up to date. The store front is perhaps the highlight of the store which is a massive mural that is painted to look like several large books. I particularly enjoy the large section they have by local/regional authors or subjects that focus on the region. There are a few small couches and chairs to sit in and enjoy a book. You can sell or donate your lightly used books here and recieve in store credit on used books. Zenith also sells a few local art pieces and other small merch here which gives off a strong sense that they care about their community. Also, I recommend getting on their email list to recieve their newsletters. Very nice to find out about upcoming readings or events at Zenith. Overall, Zenith is a great local bookshop that has recieved a breath of fresh air which hopefully carries it for a while. read more

When I moved to Duluth I was looking for a local bookstore (aka not Fitgers) I moved here about two months after Zenith opened up. What a gem! You guys, come check it out! It's smaller than local bookstores I am used it, but it has everything you need, and it is warm and people are nice. They have a great local book section :) read more

This is a beautiful little bookstore absolutely packed with the most wonderful books. There is all kinds of voices showcased here. The interior is quiet and comfortable with even a couple of comfy chairs. All the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. I love this place! read more

So great to have another local bookstore in town! Worth the drive out to west Duluth. Great store front with painted book covers...so many classics! The store has a good mix of new and used books, enough inventory for some long browsing, a good display of local reads and fiction and nonfiction bestsellers. Also great kids section. Delightful bookstore, contents and staff. New and used, but plenty of used, and a range from depth to distractions. Real literature in the fiction section; real theology in the spirituality section; and Aretha Franklin on the sound system as we entered! Browse, ask Beth for recommendations, buy, then bop NE a bit to the Duluth Grill (the Animals on the sound system; the music gods were with us) and order some smashed potatoes (thanks Bob for the recommendation). read more
