She went over a few things relating to my medical history dealing with my vision, and then she performed the eye tests and thankfully, my vision is stable and on my left eye, it actually improved by about 1.5%. On the phone, when I called, I was instructed to bring my recent prescription which is dated January 2026 (this was relayed to the associate I spoke with), and I was assured I would be paying no more than $80 for my test and would walk out with sample lenses to try for a week, and a prescription that would follow. However, when I came in, my cost was increased to $185 because they now needed to give me a new eye exam. That rubbed me a little the wrong way, I don't like when businesses do that, especially when it was confirmed on the phone that my cost would not exceed $80. Okay, moving on... My Dr was Nguyen. It felt wonderful to have the lenses in my eyes and be free of wearing frames on my face. I told the Dr. I was interested in daily lenses, however, there was a new brand he was aggressively pushing that was a monthly wear. I had to tell him four times that I wanted daily samples, and I was interested in daily wear, not 30-day lenses. I would have received only the brand he was pushing, not samples of other brands, which didn't matter because I was unsuccessful in getting my lenses out during their training. The girl had me look in a mirror and pinch and squeeze my eyeball to remove the lens. It hurt my eye, and I'm still in pain. I left without lenses and was told to come back and try again. I made an appointment the following day and spent more than 90 minutes in the office during "training". This time, with another office worker who was friendlier and more knowledgeable in her craft, however, it was still unsuccessful. I made it clear that I didn't believe contact lenses were for me. She understood and said I was still in the time frame of receiving a full refund. However, it was at this time that I was then presented with daily contacts, which were much thinner and easier to insert, and more comfortable. I was clear I didn't think I was a good candidate for contacts anymore but would try these. I was then made aware that because of the eye exam I had done (the additional $100 that appeared after I was in the store), I would not qualify for a refund. All together, I lost $185 going to this business. I should have just gone to my eye doctor, America's Best, but I made the appointment on Sunday and was excited to get the glasses off my face and wear contacts, and they were open. Lesson learned: I was not impressed with their services and would not recommend them. My eyes hurt, and I'm still wearing my glasses. read more

I've always had excellent care at this office. Dr. Tracy Wong is the best! She is so friendly, kind and knowledgeable and makes you feel like family. Making appointments is easily done online or via phone call, but almost always within a few days. The costs are very reasonable as well. I happen to have a Costco card, but you don't need a membership to receive care. Definitely recommend for quality vision care :) read more

I'm scared to make this review, because I want Marsha all to myself! Marsha has been my ophthalmologist for years. I was sent to her after years of poorly prescribed lenses that hurt my eyes and made wearing glasses a misery. After sometime and me venting with a specialist, he said- I think you should go to Marsha Howard. She's located inside Costco. At first I was like, "why? I always just say I'll see whoever is available next, because honestly every eye doctor I've been with under Marsha Howard is really nice, helpful, and knows what they're talking about. The front personnel have been great too. Some interactions have been just pleasant and professional, but I also was able to have a friendly conversation with another about a video game. So whatever you prefer, it's just nice there. They gave me a kind of long wait time, because I was a bit late to my appointment, but actually they still saw me within minutes. Located inside of the Signal Costco, the optometry department consists of two parts: the optometrist office with its own set of employees and the vision center where they sell eye glasses and contacts (which is staffed by Costco employees). In most cases, they operate independently. They will send a reminder via text and email when its time for your annual check. Often times, they are not able to answer the phone, but an automated system will automatically record your number via caller id and initiate a text conversation. You can then schedule your appointment through that channel. Costco does accept most vision insurance plans (including VSP and Superior), which was the original reason why we went to this office. But we've come to really like Dr. Howard's 'bedside' manner, and the prices for glasses and contacts at the Costco vision center can't be beat. I'm guessing that you don't have to be a Costco member to get an eye exam (and can use all forms of digital payment), but definitely need to be a member to buy frames and contacts (and thus can only use Visa as digital payment). And their selection of frames is good, even for someone like me who has a pretty wide lens width. A standard eye exam is $79, without any of the add-ons, and will get you a prescription for both glasses and contacts. The initial battery of tests (including the dreaded 'puff-of-air' to test for glaucoma) is done by a tech using pretty modern equipment. The final step is a 1:1 with Dr. Howard where she will take the time to make sure everything is ok. The appointment for the both of us was right on-time. read more
