    Final verdict: disaster. My experience with this company was so horrendous that even almost 3 weeks out from my move, I've barely recovered my faith in humanity. To put things into perspective: when I moved from Massachusetts to North Carolina 1 year ago, a moving company did significant packing, stopped in Virginia to get more furniture, then provided a timely and efficient delivery for $4.5k. Marrins charged me 3.5k for a move that was approximately 5 miles away from original destination. And there was some sexual harassment. Packing: they packed only one of the 2 apartments they told me hey would pack or "it would take too long." My parents kindly obliged- and still, I was charged for all the exorbitant packing costs. As if that wasn't a poor enough business practice, it strikes me as rather unscrupulous that I opened boxes where there might have been one or two items and then A MOUNTAIN of packing paper. And the packing paper was used in places where it made no sense whatsoever- my toddler's rubber toys were wrapped with packing paper! This is how they get their packing material cost so high since they charge per box. For the packing material alone for two living rooms, three bedrooms worth of material, Marrins charged me $1,728. If this was for full packing, I would have understood. Since these men did not even touch the 1 bedroom apartment to pack it, this pricing is unacceptable. When you google the cost of moving material: "For 1-bedroom apartment renters, buying moving boxes will cost about $61 to $85." As for the moving day itself: the head of the team said there wasn't enough space in the truck to move everything and asked if they could leave behind all my house plants, all the stuff under my bathroom sinks, etc. The men scrambled to finish packing my apartment and though the hours spent packing is not supposed to factor into cost (the labor cost goes into the cost of the boxes)- I was double charged since they arrived at 8:30 am to pack but didn't officially move me until about 1 pm (moving cost was supposed to be $145 per hour- they counted their packing hours as well). In the afternoon, I ordered the men lunch and was trying to get my toddler to take her afternoon nap and my sister in law was in the living room with one of the crew. Earlier that day, he asked her to climb onto his shoulders to reach some water bottles and made a comment about how her weight against him felt like a nice shoulder massage.That in itself is creepy, but could perhaps seem innocuous. Once I was out of the room and she was by herself, though, he told her that when she was on his shoulders earlier it felt so good and requested that she do it again. She didn't want to think more of it and obliged... and then he requested that she move her legs back and forth against him. How could this unprofessionalism and harassment happen? Fast forward: As they unloaded the truck, I saw that they actually had space to fit what they said could not fit. It took my husband three back and forth runs to our apartment to transport all of that himself. In my kitchen, they totally neglected to empty out an entire drawer of tea material, which I later brought over myself. The unpacking process: the packing was so flimsy that I have several broken items (the first box I opened was a 3 cu box that they literally put only two items into before they stuffed with paper - without appropriate support, my magnifying two way mirror broke, since it had a lamp to bang up against during transport). You're charged for "packing insurance," to get back money for anything harmed in the move... but the unfortunate thing is that the form they've since forwarded me states that you have to keep the box and the packing material so they can inspect it to confirm fault. Who keeps all their packing boxes and paper? In order to keep my house manageable, as I unpacked each box, I collapsed it and recycled the paper... so it doesn't even seem like I have true recourse for the several items the movers damaged in this move. I of course contacted the company to express my concerns and to say that since I wasn't provided full packing as their costs factor in, there should be some adjustment of pricing. The person I spoke to on the phone assured me that they would be able to issue a partial refund and a GM would be in contact. More than 1 week later and resounding silence. I would not recommend this company to anyone in the RDU.

    This company is HORRIBLE. We moved back in August and we are STILL waiting for our reimbursement check for our damaged items. We get excuse after excuse and they say it's in the mail. Customer service employees are rude and they send incompetent movers. They came unprepared with a truck that wasn't big enough so we had to wait for them to deliver our remaining items. They packed our items poorly so that we had damage to at least 6 items including our dryer and a glass dresser. Upon arriving to unload our items, there was one competent mover and 2 young boys who could barely lift anything so our entire family had to assist to prevent further damage to our items and our new home. I filled out all of the necessary claims forms for our damaged items and they still have not mailed our check.. HORRIBLE... if you use them, you better be prepared to move yourself and have broken things. GET THE FULL INSURANCE but you'll probably have to wait 6 months or more to receive reimbursement.

    I just moved from a townhouse to a larger house and have only good things to say about my movers…read more They showed up right in the middle of the time window they provided, were very friendly, had me show them around the house to give them information about what specifically needed to be moved, and worked very quickly. Add on working while moving and other additional stressors, and I was bracing for the worst case scenario. I went in expecting a nightmarish move like our last experience (with another company), only to be surprised by how smoothly everything went in comparison to all our previous moves. Only a few minor things were damaged - nothing we can't live without or get replaced. The 3 man crew who completed our move were cordial, and were very careful and respectful of the furniture and properties. Their team leader was experienced and imparted some helpful advice on how to fix the legs of my old upright piano that had been damaged in a previous move. While this job certainly went overtime, the cost was reasonable for our shoestring budget. These young men worked hard, and my family and I really appreciate their efforts and due diligence. Thank you for making an incredibly stressful day so much more bearable for us.
