Tried this place out yesterday and we loved it! Great and delicious food with good hookah, service was amazing especially the gentleman Rami, we will be coming back soon

Had a wonderful time here! The food portions are huge, so if you get the pre-fixed dinner definitely share it with someone. Loved the lentil soup, eggplant salad was great, tomato and bell pepper salad was good, vegetarian bastilla was very good (though it definitely had a more dessert vibe), and the shrimp tagine was excellent! We also tried to Moroccan wine, which we loved. The belly dancer was awesome, and it was so fun because she got the whole restaurant to dance. Great for a date night or a night out with a group!

I went to this spot for dinner last night (Thursday) in a group of 5. We were expecting the belly dancing show but found out later they only do shows Friday and Saturday night. The place was pretty empty, there was only one or two other tables with people. There was also no music playing for the first half of our dinner so the place was a little quiet. The food overall was pretty good. I shared the 5 course meal with my partner and there was more than enough food and we had leftovers. My favorite dish by far was the first vegetarian course with salads and hummus, and the lentil soup. The bread that came with it was amazing too! We had two chicken entrees that tasted good, but were sweeter than what we're used to with savory dishes. The tea and baklava was excellent. We got the margarita pitcher ($65) which was enough for 4 of us to have 3 drinks each. We also tried the strawberry hookah (my first time!) and it was light and fun to try! Overall I enjoyed the food, drinks and hookah. I was expecting the place to be a little more livelier but maybe we should've gone on a Friday or Saturday night. Will definitely try to come back on one of those days!

A little bit of Morroco in San Francisco is a prefect place to celebrate with family and friends a birthday, anniversary or engagement. We have been to Marrakesh celebrating my wife's birthday a decade early and had fond memories and a great time. This past Friday on Halloween weekend we chose to celebrate our son's 18th birthday and try to embarrass him with dancing with a. Belly dancer! We were a group of 5 and had our own private seating area. My father-in-law usually travels on a scooter or wheelchair, but I called ahead to make sure they could accommodate him. Not a problem. The staff was extremely friendly, hospitable, fun and kind during our evening. My wife ordered "family style" which was more than enough appetizers, entree and desserts for all---very authentic and delicious as we had remembered. We began with Cocktails and then were served hummus, eggplant and other Morrocan items. Our beautiful entree included a feast of chicken kebabs, lamb, beef, turnips, carrots and cocusus platter. The served very fresh crusty bread and baklava. We arrived at 7 pm and watched the belly dancer preform wonderfully. Since the restaurant was accommodating, they served our son's birthday cake and sang "Happy Birthday" with style. Moreover, the staff played some of his favorite rap music and he had a special personal performance with the 2nd belly dancer which made our evening (remember his Mom wanted to embarrass him) and his 18th birthday special. If you are in San Francisco and look for a very special meal and entertainment I highly recommend Marrakesh. It's adjacent to the San Francisco Hilton and garage parking is across the street. Enjoy!

In town from NV and happened to come across this magic show. Thought, why not, something different!! It's just a little intimate room but what an experience! Jay was personable, came out in the lobby to welcome each and every guest. Entertained with a few pre magic tricks and ensured to make each and every guest feel welcome and included. We will return and recommend to all. Fun night out!!

Eggplant Salad and Hummus Platter. So good!! The hookah is very good too!!

Not many people here which was weird it because it had good food. Sure the place is a little dated but the service is nice and the food is good.

We came here for my birthday celebrations. We didn't have a reservation so were asked to wait for 30 minutes for a table. We started with a few tequila shots (extremely expensive -$15/shot). For food we started with the bastilla and hummus platters. Bastilla was too sweet and hummus was decent. Then came the entrees, lamb and chicken couscous and veggie tagine. Food was below average- very dry and no taste at all. Avoid food here if you can. What i liked was the ambience- they had a belly dancing artist who was great. Great music and amazing vibe. Service was a bit slow because it was super crowded that day. I would suggest to go here for a drink and avoid the food at all costs!

Great food in the traditional Morrocan atmosphere. The location is convenient in downtown San Francisco and the service is outstanding.

Are they able to customize dishes with nuts and dairy?

I'm familiar with the restaurant from years ago- but do they have live Middle Eastern music or just a DJ now? Anyone know where there is live Arabic/Middle Eastern Music in the Bay Area any longer? Pasha used to be one but I believe they closed.

They have live music and belly dancing but it doesn't start until about 8pm.

Regardless, it's definitely the watering hole I didn't know I needed until I finally entered their portal. It's dark in here but not in a bad way. With its fanciful back wall mural (Photo 4), it felt a bit like a sultan's harem that seemingly doubles as an Ottoman coffeehouse. I came in around 4PM on a weekday. This proved to be an ideal time because you can tell this compact bar gets packed quickly. I had heard they were famous for their renditions of classic cocktails, in particular, martinis straight up. What an intentional coincidence as I was in the mood for an Espresso Martini. I'm hardly ever not in the mood, so it was a good thing the bartender was seasoned enough to make a silky smooth one (Photo 7). It was more than reasonably priced at $14. While I didn't catch her name, the bartender was cordial and just chatty enough to mitigate my introverted social sensibilities. More customers started to trickle in, an older profile than the other popular Haight bars. I can say that because that's my geriatric DNA. I like The Alembic and The Mad Dog in the Fog, but this one may have just taken the edge. Then the hummus was very clever and perfect....The garlic is in the middle as garnish and I think slightly tamed over the fire. The mutabel I thought they will mess this up....Nope...firey roasted flavor was good. I would only see if I can find a stronger flavor olive oil for these as a finishing oil. Then I had the fried cawliflower....So good! Also the Patata Harra....Tasted great, but not crispy, not sure why. Still very good with great flavor. After all that....I had a nice Arabic coffee and a cigar. I don't mean a Arabic from the gulf regions or Saud. I mean true coffee, like the ones you will have in Etheopia, birth place of coffee. Like in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, maybe even a little piece of Turkey, or Greece....This is Arabic coffee. Not any other. This is a medium to dark roast, and often you crush a fresh pod or 2 of cardamom and thats it. Not milled in and sold with the coffee, fresh pods!(lol...I honestly dont remember that this place did that...lol, but it was still good). When you first walk in, the place looks empty as late night, everyone is out in the patio. So, just walk down the hall way, and you will be greeted. Again...So far I have tried 7 or so Lebanses places. Most are not even Lebanese, and while I don't falt it, but Ismail has managed to hire the right people, and teach the right recipes, so when you eat the food, you realize that the flavors are from that same recipe without cutting corners. I can list the places, and I will soon. Falafel this, Mid Eat that, flavors of here there....So far...this is the spot! Enjoy!! I'll be back!!

The pickled eggplant appetizer was good but a little salty. The zaatar feta tomato flatbread was a little salty and soggy. Wouldn't get that one again. The interior had a cool Arabian theme with arches and paintings on the wall. I wish the tabouleh had more grain and it was a little too citrusy but still overall good. The falafel was good too. I would come back.
