Marla is wonderful. She is fantastic at electrolysis. I'm very satisfied, she's always been on time with me, and kept our appointments. I've been to other electrologists and Marla is the best and most supportive by far She's very supportive to those struggling with their hair removal journey (for whatever reason they may be on it) and she'll treat you like your family. She's a truly kind hearted person out here in a world of scummy and spiteful people. She is a very sweet older woman that creates a calm and relaxing environment, so you can get your hair gone for good read more

Marla does everything possible to keep me comfortable during electrolysis. She provides numbing gel for a nominal fee. She is the first electrologist that I've gone to who truly provides a pain-free experience, provided that you apply the numbing gel before the session. read more

When you need hair removal, you need an expert. Marla's expertise is exceptional! She is an experienced professional with a caring personality, which makes me feel comfortable and safe having electrolysis with her. She is very ethical and thorough and will not remove more hair than my face can handle in one session. She cares about my skin and the results. I listen to her and feel confident that she knows what is right for me. I have been under her care for eight months. And during this time, I have always felt that I have made the right decision in placing my hair problem in her "hands". She has made a remarkable difference in the way I look and how I feel about myself. I feel so fortunate that I have found her. I would highly recommend Marla. read more

Marla is so great, I've been seeing her for years. She is reasonably priced and has years of experience. Highly recommend!

She is very experienced and low cost. Only $85 an hour for quality work. A very nice lady.

BEFORE READING THIS REVIEW KNOW THAT THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE PERTAINING TO MY PAIN TOLERANCE. EVERYONE HANDLES PAIN DIFFERENTLY SO YOU MIGHT NOT FEEL A THING UNLIKE ME. WITH THAT SAID: READ BELOW WHAT I ORIGINALLY WROTE... Bzzz bzzz OUCH! Bzzzz bzzzz OUCH! That's pretty much how the whole electrolysis experience goes - you don't need me to tell you it's painful. But hey beauty is pain as they say - so if you want to be as smooth as a babies bottom bite your lip and take it. Quite honestly if it wasn't for Marla's calming demeanor and her relaxing voice and out of this world sense of humor I would have run out of the room screaming with the first hair that was zapped. Marlas office is immaculately clean and she really takes her time explaining everything to you before she begins. She also gives you an option to go with the numbing cream or without. The numbing cream has to be applied an hour before the procedure so I decided to be a bad ass and did a whole hour without since I was already there and wanted to move faster towards being hair free. Huge mistake on my part, I recommend purchasing a numbing cream from her for $25 and lathering yourself up in it before coming for your appointment. I don't want to go over in too much detail what electrolysis feels like because quite frankly it's hard to describe, and if you are really that interested you can google it - but this review is about the amazing Marla not the pain factor of electrolysis after all. Marla has been doing this for 30 years, and even though I have never been to an electrologist before I can tell most definitely she has a very soft hand - and when it comes to anything that involves needles you know that's a huge plus. Long review short, if you hate shaving as much as I do come see Marla - you won't be disappointed. She is the Queen of Electrolysis and will have you as smooth as a dolphin before you know it! Kudos Miss Marla :) read more

Marla is amazing! I feel so blessed to have found her. She is not only a professional, incredibly knowledgeable, but also kind and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend getting the numbing cream - you can purchase a less effective one for home use or you can ask her to apply the medical grade numbing cream when you're in her office. My experience with her has been nothing but remarkable. She's a gentle generous soul. Everything you are looking for in a good electrologist :) She has a loyal following with a busy schedule; but give her a call anyway. She may take you if she thinks she can help you :) Reasonable prices and most importantly, she actually cares about your skin and progress. She doesn't overdo it. Patience is a virtue - super important with hair removal. Listen to your skin - don't rush the process. You are in good hands with Marla :) read more

I have been going to Marla for over six months now. She is a very kind, gentle woman who really has perfected the "gentle touch" approach. Since my time going to Marla, she has made a vast improvement of my face with the hair removal. Even my sister can see the difference. Because every hair follicle is different, hair may regrow. This has happened in my case, but with the additional touch-up removal, it doesn't not grow back. Not every person may experience this. I know by this October, Marla will have made my face look better and brighter. I can wait to go to NY and walk down 5th Avenue with a new attitude. Thank you Marla for your work and making me a new "ME". NEW YORK HERE I COME :) read more

Marla is a very experienced electrologist and is fun to chat with while you're getting your hairs zapped!! I'm happy with the work she did within one session. But I also found her very unprofessional regarding multiple things. I met with her 3 times and she was late every time. On our last meeting she seemed unaware that I even had an appointment! Then after a misunderstanding about payment (I was going to pay for 8 hours upfront with her, but she didn't tell me it was cash only) she became rude and aggressive. I got the cash for her and tried to rectify the situation immediately, but she argued and then stopped responding to my texts. Eventually she told me I should find someone else to meet my needs. Overall I would recommend Marla for electrolysis, as long as you are okay with late appointments. My schedule doesn't work with hers so I will be looking for someone else. read more

I just had an electrolysis treatment provided by Marla Mintz, and I have to say that the whole thing went incredibly smoothly, and it looks great! Marla is so skillful and friendly too, the whole thing was such a pleasure! I'll be back! Tom read more

I haven't received any service from this person but I never had such a disrespectful, unprofessional, and rude encounter with a business owner. While I called to make an appointment I was asked if I was fully vaccinated, which I confirmed. Then she asked if I had the booster shot and I told her that I am not due for a booster shot yet since I received my last shot at the end of last year. She became rude and just hung up. Now I don't have anything against each business making their own rules (despite me being probably better protected with my two recent shots than anyone with a booster), but you can communicate it in a professional manner. read more

I found Marla on Yelp and met with her because of her wonderful reviews, and I'm glad I did! I never had electrolysis before and was quite nervous about it. I heard that it was quite painful and I heard that some people get put under with it. I went in thinking it would hurt but it honestly was not painful at all. It hurt less than a teeth cleaning at the dentist. I had laser hair removal, and that was much more painful. Marla was so gentle and I had little to no skin irritation after. I would have started electrolysis so much earlier if I knew it was so painless. Marla did a great job, and I already booked my next appointment. It does take a long time since she is removing each individual hair, but the effects are supposed to be permanent. Marla was very easygoing and fun to talk to. I 100% recommend her to anyone and will send all of my trans friends to her. Parking is on the street and I didn't have any issue finding parking. read more

Marla is great! I'm so glad I decided to see her. After getting lackluster results with laser hair removal, I decided to look into electrolysis. I had heard that it can be quite painful, so I was nervous. I went in for a consultation with Marla and she showed me how the machine works and tested it on me. It does hurt! I recommend using the numbing cream that Marla has! It makes a big difference in how much you feel it. I've been seeing Marla consistently since April and I'm so happy with what she's been able to do. Electrolysis takes longer than laser, but the results are much better! Marla clearly knows her stuff. She answers all my questions and talks me through what she's doing and what I can expect to see after the treatment. Marla is great to chat with during the treatment, which helps distract you from the pain. She's been amazing. Parking is also usually easy! I can always find street parking nearby. Plus I love that she always has some Hershey's Kisses around :) read more

I love Marla! Everything about her and her work is phenomenal. Her professionalism, sensitivity, sense of humor and ability to put a client at ease (through this most intimate experience of hair removal) especially stand out. Add to these an immaculately clean office, rapid hair removal and expert after-care to minimize swelling and/or breakouts, and you've got the best. Oh, and she keeps a nice box of chocolates on hand, too! : ) 5 stars for beautiful Marla and her fine work! I'm so grateful to have found her. read more

She's professional, impressional, friendly and means business! Marla is the sweetest person you'll ever meet who is also dedicated to getting you results! I have been seeing her for some time now and am seeing better results with her electrolysis treatment than I've ever seen with laser hair removal! I highly recommend her services! Plus she's located in a low-key setting where you won't have to worry about being seen (if you're like me and need to cover-up from time to time). read more

I've gotten top tier results from Marla, and her bedside (tableside?) manner is excellent. Now I'm not very sensitive to the inevitable pain that comes with electrolysis, but even so I'd recommend that you ask Marla to apply her numbing cream on you. It does cost a little bit extra, but for me it was worth it. I could literally hear the hairs being zapped and pulled out more than I could feel it happening. I wouldn't have believed such a thing were possible if I weren't lying down staring at it myself. Definitely recommend! read more

Marla is amazing! She took the time and effort to make this an amazing experience. Very good energy.

Marla is an amazing electrolgist! I've been to a few electrologists in the area and none have given me the results quite like Marla has. She has a very personable touch which makes her treatments very comfortable. You will be in good hands with Marla without question and for a great price! read more

Marla knows so much about electrolysis and explains every step of the treatment beforehand and while she's actually removing the hair. She's incredibly friendly and more importantly gentle. Electrolysis can be uncomfortable in certain moments but to say it's painful is an overstatement. Marla also offers numbing cream to all of her clients to apply 1 hour before treatment. I myself don't use the numbing cream and handle the treatments just fine. Keep in mind I've had electrolysis done on most parts of my body at this point. I've been going to Marla for electrolysis for several months and could not be happier with the results. I naturally have thick, black hairs that grow at random and Marla has gotten rid of them. I've also had hair grow in thicker from laser hair removal treatments where there was no hair before and electrolysis is the only way to remove those hair follicles. Her location is easy to find and there's always parking right out front which makes getting to her even better for me. If you're serious about getting rid of hair like myself, I definitely recommend buying her 4-hour package. It's totally worth it, saves you money, and each hour is less expensive compared to other electrologists in the area. Marla is always professional but also very approachable and welcoming which makes getting treatments that easier. She answers any & every question you might have. 5 stars across the board! read more

Have been having electrolysis done for a few years and each time it is very painful and the hair is either still there or grows back. That was until I met Marla Mintz and had her remove unwanted hair for me. She is painless and has thirty years of experience doing this. Her touch is very gentle and she is so nice and calming to me when I am on the table. Makes the time fly by and before you know it I am finished. I will return and refer people to her.who need it I am so pleased you can't even imagine. Having hair removed to me is a very personal thing but now I have found a jewel in a sea of trash.
