This place is a well oiled machine. Wow--everyone hustles here. We stopped in on a Friday and had fish: one haddock fry and the other broiled. Everything was on point. The broiled fish was cooked perfectly to temp and well seasoned. The fried fish--loved the batter and that it's not greasy. It really was a great fry and please don't ever remove the crinkle fries from the menu. They are these best.

Fantastic dinner at Marks East side. Some places are just classic, and this is one of them. The ambiance is classic supper club and it's an experience. Food was fantastic. We had the jaegerschnitzle and the eisbein (pork hock) with Bavarian Scotch eggs. It was a great meal. Our server was so friendly, while working like two people with the full house. Marks is a bucket list item you need to try.

We went for corn beef & cabbage on St. Patrick's Day. It was excellent! And they had draught Guinness to boot! Service was quick. We sat in a section of high top tables in the bar. The bar is quite cosy and comfortable. It was a good time.

Another great visit to Mark's East Side. We had 6:30 reservations, but they were able to seat us about 6:10. We had a group of 6 tonight. The bar was very crowded when we arrived, but we did not have to wait long for a beverage. The Mahi-mahi was quite delicious. It was served in a bed of wild rice with mango salsa and fresh asparagus. This paired so very nicely. Even with the large group, our food came out in a timely manner. Our server, Carly was very attentive. She did a great job making sure beverages from the bar were kept fresh. Dessert for myself was a grasshopper. It was a bit larger than I expected. Unfortunately, after such an amazing dinner, I could not finish mine. My husband brought home a wonderful German chocolate cheesecake. I would have never been able to eat it all....but in my refrigerator, I feel I may fit in a bite or two. The dessert menu is quite extensive, so leave room for the tasty treats.

Love Marks East Side. As a person who can't eat wheat, I truly appreciate their gluten-free options and dedicated fryer.

The best supper club in the Appleton area. The menu is diverse enough to accommodate all tastes and the German fare is spot on.

Just go with the flow, you're at a Bavarian themed super club! Waitress will take your order and call you to your table when ready. The bartender who was working the bar side came to take my drink order when she noticed the dining room bartender was busy. I haven't had an OF in years but she made a great one. Our server, Nikki(?) was very attentive without hovering. Very pleasant even when it started to get busy. My friend & I both ordered hand breaded perch for dinner & Nikki told us to help ourselves to the salad bar. Oh my! How many days had they put out the lettuce mix & other salads?? The lettuce was very limp & wilty. The macaroni & pea salad just tasted "off" and the fluff salad had no taste at all. After that, I was grateful I didn't try any other salads items. Thankfully our fish came out and it was delicious! The breading was crunchy & served very hot. Fries & broasted potatoes were good also. My suggestion is to offer a traditional perch dinner with potato, rye bread, and cole slaw like most other area restaurants. If this had been offered I'd have been very happy with Al & Al's, but that salad bar was such an unappetizing turn off that we won't return for a good while.

They had a great salad bar included with every dinner, bread, and a good choice of sides. My wife ordered the blackberry blue cheese pork loin. She was disappointed with her meal, as the pork wasn't seasoned, and the freezer blackberries (not a sauce, as advertised), were overpowered by the large amount of blue cheese. My prime rib special was great! It was advertised as a 12 ounce, but this must have been a full pound. Perfectly cooked medium rare with a seasoned edge, and swimming in a delicious au jus. I also had horseradish on top. The onion rings I ordered as a side also went well as a topping. The Old Fashioneds were good, but not great. If you're going to charge $7, might as well muddle some cherries instead of using a mix. Not a major conlmplaint, but that little extra touch is nice. Their lack of business concerns me- hopefully they do more weekend/fish fry business, but this is a nice place you should check out if you're nearby.
