Their "booking an appointment" mechanism on the website is to leave a note with your times of availability and your email address and wait to be contacted. In a week or so they will text you (after your preferred times of availability have passed) and ask you to call them. So I did all that. Booked an appointment for a couple weeks out. I always go. I am not a canceller. But 24 hours before the appointment I not a job interview for almost the exact time. So I called asked if we could *move the appointment. Again, I have been using Wain for years. I go every 6 months. I'm not flaky. I arrive every time on time. But they wanted $100 from me to reschedule my appointment. Not cancel. Reschedule. With 24 hrs notice. What are you? An airline? $100 to reschedule? What, do you have baggage fees too? Will the receipt come with a tip line? Come on! After reading all the positive reviews on Google and Yelp, I am still wondering if I went to the same dentist as everyone else. I go to the dentist every 6 months but recently moved to Seattle from the east coast. The first dentist I went to made sure to max out what he could from my dental insurance (e.g., bitewings, panoramic x-rays, fluoride, the works!) and told me that I needed about 8 fillings, 2 crowns (one of the crowns was because he said I needed a retreatment of my old root canal) and a $400 nightguard: wow. This isn't the first time that this has happened to me, so I knew to get a second opinion: Dr. Waind. My name is Sofia and when the hygienist called me, she did her best to pronounce my name "Soph... so-pha... so-pha-yee?" The hygienist is American and well over 30... but no problem, my name may just be difficult for some. Dr. Waind tried to use this new technology to take photos of my teeth and it took him about 3 minutes for each tooth (the first dentist I went to had the same tech and it took him about 10 seconds for each tooth). He eventually told me I needed 7 fillings, 1 crown and NO nightguard needed, so a slightly better prognosis. I decided to get four of my fillings done since my insurance was about to reset in April (my dental insurance only covers $1500 per insurance cycle, so I wanted to use my allotment for that year before it renewed again in April). Dr. Waind gave me shots on the upper left, lower left, and upper right of my mouth (he was redoing some of my very old fillings). My last dentist in DC also re-did two of my old fillings but he didn't have to numb my mouth... but okay, he knows what's best. Dr. Waind's procedure was the most uncomfortable procedure I have ever had. His assistant, Shawn, piped water into my throat directly instead of on the tooth/the sides of my mouth. I sat up and almost threw up the first time she did it, I was gagging so badly. I did my best not to gag during the procedure, but it happened again a second time where I sat up and started gagging again. When I told her that the water kept going down my throat, rather than being apologetic, she was offended and said that she was doing her best. Throughout the procedure, big drops of fluids dropped on my face and forehead several times, but were not wiped away or were just not noticed: I felt disgusted the whole time because I could not wipe them away. I have also never had this happen in all the times I've had dental procedures. When I finished the procedure, the front desk tried to take my photograph. Since they already scanned a colored copy of my driver's license, I didn't see the need for them to have a photo of my face and said no. The front desk was clearly not happy with this and said they needed the photo to verify my identity. I told them they could use my photo ID that they scanned and she finally said she would let the doctor know. Fast forward to 1.5 months later (today) and I went to a third dentist to get the rest of the work done since I only did half of it. I went to a reputable dentist office way outside of South Lake Union and guess what: I don't need to do the other 3 fillings or the crown. It is sad to see so many dentists that see patients as $$$ rather than as people, which is why trust with dentists have eroded over the years. My advice: be skeptical if a dentist tells you that you need so much work, especially if you go to the dentist regularly! read more

I just moved to Seattle and was in need of a new dentist. I picked them because they were in walking distance from my job but they were a great choice! They were super friendly and very thorough. The dental team was exceptional and they took great care with my teeth cleaning. The hygeniest even tried her best not to pinch my gums when they were taking xrays. I would definitely recommend them to a friend and i will be happy to go back for another check up! read more

However, if you are lucky enough to experience the care and attention to detail of Dr. Waind and his team of super duper dental hygienists, you may have to add great dental care to that list. The lady who answers the phones (Tristin?) and confirms appointments was very rude and extremely unprofessional. She hassled me, and had a bad attitude when I tried to explain my unique situation as I was switching jobs and was waiting for my new insurance to kick in. She got really rude with me when after numerous back and fourth calls between her, myself, and my insurance providers. I was very patient and tried to make the appointment work even though I said we needed to reschedule. Then when I finally found out my benefits wont kick in until next month she got really rude with me and said that "Well usually sir, we would charge you for canceling without a 48 hour advance notice". 1. I never confirmed this appointment. 2. This appointment was not made my myself but a previous employee who no longer works there who said that they would contact me to confirm an appointment as one became available. 3. NEVER CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT. She then proceeded to tell me thats not how any of this works etc... I said the guy set it up and she said he no longer works for the company yet proceeded to tell me that they don't just set up appointments for people. Well ya did. Then when I asked to speak to her boss because I was pretty upset with her and how she was responding to me she said she was her own boss and there was no one to talk to. Unacceptable. So I will leave this horrid review, never go back, and email everyone at that company because I am pretty pissed and need to do this to feel better! Side note: Before they hired this idiot this place was awesome. Everyone was very kind and professional. They person who cleaned my teeth was very gentle and kind. But I wont go back if the front desk lady is still there. She is horrid. read more

I had to go in for a crown today - never a fun thing to do. I've had several done before over the years but this was by far my best experience ever. Dr. Waind used just the right amount of novocaine (didn't leave me numb for hours and hours afterwards - but never felt any pain at all. His assistant Shawn was really good too - friendly and professional. I also liked being able to go in at 7:00 so I could beat the traffic. Great experience and highly recommended. read more

Easily the best dental experience I've ever had. This was my first visit. I was impressed by the entire staff! Everyone I met with including, reception, the dental assistant, hygienist and of course, Dr. Waind was professional and genuine. They even went above and beyond in working around my schedule today. Special kudos to Shilo who was super patient during my dental cleaning. She took the extra time to answer all my questions so I felt informed every step of the way and checked in with me frequently to make sure I wasn't experiencing any discomfort. I'd bet there are rewards but let's face it, it's gotta kind of suck to be a dentist. No one WANTS to come see you, people come to you quaking with fear and phobias, and you spend your skill in the tiny recesses of people's mouths. I'm sure Dr. Waind has all those concerns but his calm demeanor and impressive skill make it worthwhile. He's truly remarkable. He's not too chatty but tells you what you need to know. He just replaced a deteriorating filling for me and for the first time ever, two hours post-novacaine and I'm not so numb that I can't sip a cup of anything. Dr. Waind offers epi-free novacaine, headphones, and gas for those who need a little extra to calm down. While there's no alternative to the singular sound of a drill in your mouth, his work is fast and it is good. His staff will do anything they can to make you comfortable, checking in with your wadded, untalkable mouth frequently but not too often. Dentists are expensive. No way around that. But Dr. Waind is worth it. He'll give you a discount for paying same day and offers free garage parking, not somewhere down the block, but in the building. I feel secure knowing I have a good dentist for life. read more
