We recently completed a full exterior painting project with Mark Bellingham Painting and are very pleased with the results. Before selecting a contractor, we obtained three estimates and spent considerable time evaluating the proposals, references, and overall approach. We ultimately chose Mark Bellingham Painting because of their reputation, experienced employees, and confidence in their preparation process. Preparation was extensive and professionally done. Throughout the project, Enrique, the project manager, and Miguel were on site daily. Both were knowledgeable, courteous, and took great pride in their work. Enrique was especially helpful in answering our questions and guiding us through color selection and project decisions. The workmanship and attention to detail were excellent, and the crew treated our home with care and respect. It's clear they take pride in doing quality work rather than simply finishing the job. Every project has a few questions and decisions along the way, but Mark and his team were responsive and committed to delivering a quality result. We are very happy with the finished appearance of our home and would confidently recommend Mark Bellingham Painting to anyone looking for a professional exterior painting contractor. read more

Mark and his team are very professional, thorough and helpful. They recently re-stained by deck. They did incredible prep, fixed some loose boards and helped me pick the stain. They were patient with my request for more and more samples! They also noticed and fixed some roof sections that were damaged. Their prices are reasonable and the work is excellent. read more

Mark and his capable crew of artisan painters provided us with superb exterior painting and waterproofing of our one-hundred-and-seventeen year old Edwardian in San Francisco. Three stories in height and a combination of wood and stucco over wood, they prepared, caulked, primed and painted as if it were their own beloved home. Access was extremely challenging in places they managed to work with exceptional service from their preferred scaffold contractor. Mark and his employees used our choice of super-premium paint even though it costs a bit more than other paints on the market (Cheap isn't good and good isn't cheap!). We expect the job to last and Mark Bellingham Painting guarantees the job! There were a few places with wood that needed replacement and his painter/carpenter replaced those with alacrity. After the job our garden is still intact! read more

We've used them for multiple jobs since we moved here in 2022, from whole-house exterior/interior painting to minor patching and carpentry repairs. They are incredibly responsive, reasonable, and conscientious. They even came in and fixed a bad paint job left by a sub-contractor for a kitchen reno we did. I continue to always be impressed. Highly recommend! read more

We hired Mark Bellingham Painting to paint our house and replace all of our roof vents with fire-resistant ones. They did an excellent job and we are very happy with the quality of their work. They aren't the cheapest, but we wanted a paint job that would last for many years. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for any painting project. read more

We loved the job Rene and Douglas did painting our guest bedroom and our garage door. The prep work was meticulously done and very detailed. The end result was amazing! Mark Bellingham Painting is the best. We will definitely use them again when needed! read more

Mark's painter, Saul, was absolutely fabulous! El es un artista! He came on time every day (4days) and meticulously prepped/primered our front entry, taking the new door completely down to primer it. He cleaned up very well every day before he left, always asking if there was anything else he could do. I've seen Mark's trucks around Lamorinda lately and thought the work looked great. I will definitely call Mark when we decide to paint our house within the next year! read more

Mark Bellingham Painting - New front door - Painters Near Me - Lafayette, California

We recently hired Mark Bellingham Painting to paint the exterior of our home. We have lived here for over 37 years and have had the exterior painted several times, but never have we had the quality of work that Bellingham provided. The prep work alone was amazing, in many cases they removed old paint down to the bare wood. We had extensive dry rot that was expertly repaired and treated to prevent future damage. The final result was flawless! The crew arrived promptly each day and cleaned up immaculately prior to leaving each night. Every question we had was met with a smile and a remedy. While they were the most expensive bid we received, we whole heartedly agreed it was worth every penny in the end. i would hire them again in a heartbeat and plan to do just that when I am ready to paint the interior. read more

A painter named Enrique helped my disabled mother after she had a tire pop. He was kind and helpful and wouldn't take any form of payment back! Thank you Enrique you are truly an amazing man! read more

Paulette F. 9/22/2023 This is the second time we have used Mark. His workers are very professional and their work is top quality. His painter, Reginaldo, came on time for 4 days, moved and covered all the furniture and rugs in the kitchen and den area, cleaned up every day before he left, and always made sure to ask if we had any questions. The other painter, Saul, was with him for one day and did excellent work as well. Reginaldo also power washed our patio and walkway and they look like new! Mark stands by his warranty - we had a few very minor touch up areas on the outside, and Reginaldo fixed them without charge. I highly recommend Mark for his professional staff, high quality of work, and ease of working with him and his crews. read more

Mark Bellingham Painting did the most amazing work painting the exterior of my house! Mark and his crew were delightful to work with, did excellent and careful prep and painting work, and were thoughtful and tidy throughout the process. In addition, I had one step which needed to be repainted four years after they completed the job because the paint bubbled up (as a result of a product the previous owners used on it), which they took care of cheerfully and at no cost. Simply the best :-) read more

After the recent winter storms, the exterior of our house needed both repairs and new paint. We contacted Mark and arranged to meet with him to assess the work that was needed to be done. Mark was courteous and professional, and conducted a very thorough inspection of our home. After we came to agreement on his proposal, his team went to work. All team members were polite, competent, and like Mark, very professional. All the work was done in a reasonable time, and the result has exceeded our expectations. Having used different painting companies over the years, I want to say that Mark and his team really raised the bar for us. Kudos to Mark Bellingham Painting! read more

Mark's team just completed a large project for our home. They did a fantastic job and paid attention to every detail. His team was highly professional and skilled in their craft. Their carpentry work, repair and painting skills are excellent and the results of the job are outstanding. His crew was on-time daily, checked in on a regular basis to make sure all of our expectations were met and were a pleasure to deal with in every way. They completed the project on schedule and kept us apprised every step of the way. I highly recommend Mark Bellingham Painting! read more

We interviewed a number of painters for our Edwardian house that was badly in need of a new paint job. Mark was the first to give us a quote. Sometimes the first is the best! His workers (whom quickly became friends) have been with Mark for years. That was very important to me because it shows that if he treats them well, our house would be treated well also. The work was done in exactly the amount of time he specified, everything was neat, clean and orderly every day and we were never disturbed. Sometimes you do get what you pay for and in this case I would not hesitate to recommend Mark Bellingham again. They also do interiors and I have no doubt it will be done to perfection. read more

In September, Mark's team (Saul and Enrique) painted the exterior of our house and the next door rental, and made minor repairs. The painting was excellent, we were really thrilled with the quality and final result. In addition, they spotted minor repairs that were needed. They were always on time or early and left the premises clean. We'd call them first in the future. We found them through their ad in the Lafayette Weekly. Carol read more

We have used Mark's services many times over the years. We don't even get an estimate from anyone else, because we know his team will do the work beautifully and on time. Their attention to detail and timely completion of the work is always top notch. Mark listens to what we want and involves his team in giving us suggestions on how to achieve our goals for each project. In April we had his team paint our downstairs interior. There was some handyman/carpentry-type work that needed to be done and Mark's team was able to handle that too, so we didn't have to find someone else to do it. We wanted to switch out all the door knobs including the front door (which was tricky), and one of the men on the team did a great job on that. In the past Mark's team has repaired our exterior damage from sun and dry rot and painted it to look like new. Can't say enough about how great these guys are!! read more

Mark's team replaced some of our wood siding and repainted our house in Moraga in March. They did an outstanding job all the way around. They were professional, on-time daily, thorough, clean, and precise. They are all great people and have been working with Mark for many years. The carpentry work was great. They repaired, replaced, and renewed the siding and facia in several places. The painting work was great too. They spent lots of time on preparation and then used multiple coats of paint. I couldn't be happier. We had some other, unrelated work done on the house concurrently by other contractors and the difference in the professionalism and communication was impressive. Mark and his team were on top of everything, kept me in the loop, showed up daily, on-time, ready to go to work. They worked the hours they said they would work, finished and cleaned up at the end of the day at the times they told me they would, and completed the project on schedule. I highly recommend Mark Bellingham Painting! read more

We just had a couple of rooms repainted by Mark and team. The work was excellent and they were great at communication. Mark was checking in every step of the way, and it really made for a good process. The pricing was fair, and I love that Mark really cares about his team enough to employ them full time with benefits. Definitely using them for our next painting project. read more

Mark and his team are wonderful -- very professional and detail oriented. We have used them for interior walls, kitchen cabinets and most recently for the exterior of the house. Our hillside home was a challenging job and included a fair amount of repair work for water damage. It was all done extremely well and went smoothly. I highly recommend them. read more

I recommend Mark Bellingham and his crew, when you consider your next residential paint job. We found Mark's service from a neighbor who had used him for painting their house. We interviewed Mark and another service from Berkeley, both based upon recommendations. Both prices were similar. Mark was able to identify rooms and features that did not require painting, which I felt would offset the inevitable add-on's one encounters in any house project. Tito is the crew chief, and he did a masterful job with his workers, materials, and communication with us. The paint matching took some time in a couple areas. This can happen due to lighting, etc. Definitely ask for more samples. Tito was very good at this. In the end, we found exact matches. Our home is a 1667 square foot, 3-bedroom single story rancher in Lafayette. There were nails pops and other drywall repairs needed, due to seasonal movement of the soil and foundation supports. Normal. The project was originally something like an 8-day job, and with a bit extra work, we were done in something like 10-days. I always felt safe with the crew. There was a professional, yet friendly atmosphere. After they were through, of course, it felt great to have the house back to ourselves. It is a bit disruptive, but that goes with the project. So, yes, ask them to bid on your job. Then compare the details. read more

A large second story window was leaking during these winter storms and our handyman suggested we contact Mark Bellingham Painting to come to caulk the exterior. The team arrived promptly on schedule and after evaluating the window and taking photos, Manuel and Ramiro showed me that the trim had rotted and needed replacement. On a subsequent trip with foreman Tito, the wood trim was replaced, caulked, and painted. All three workmen were courteous, caring, and left the premises clean. I appreciated the fact that they came when they said they were coming and completed the job in a timely manner. We thought we only needed caulking and with these heavy rains, I'm glad the Bellingham team caught the leak before it caused any damage. Thank you Tito, Manuel, and Ramiro for doing such a professional job and being great to work with! read more

Mark and his painting crew are fantastic. They did a perfect job with painting both the interior and exterior of my house. Also, there was a wooden post for a deck that his carpenter replaced and the finished product was just perfect. His crew reports on time and completed the project quickly. Highly recommend Mark's company and will use them again in the future! read more

I recently bought a condo in Rossmoor and had the entire inside painted by Mark's team prior to moving in. This included all walls with 12 ft. ceilings, crown moldings, baseboards, doors, closets and a kitchen island. Mark and his team were professional, detail oriented and flexible from start to finish. Mark estimated the job would take a couple of weeks and brought his foreman, Ramiro, to our consultation prior to painting. From the first day, this "dream team" took care with my window shutters, washed down the walls and patched up areas that needed attention before they began to paint. Ramiro gave me their work schedule so I knew exactly when they would be working. He also painted small patches of a wall for me to approve before they painted the entire area in case I changed my mind! Every painter was friendly, polite and they all showed a true esprit de corps while working, clearly taking pride in their work. Needless to say, my place looks beautiful and I could not be more happy with the results. Thank you Mark, and to your team, for making this big project such a pleasure to complete! read more

Mark and his team did a great job for us. They painted the exterior and did some minor carpentry repairs, with excellent prep and attention to detail. The deck needed more work than anticipated, and we felt that Mark's carpentry crew showed real expertise in restoring and repairing areas that were rotted or needed new and better support. The finished product looks terrific! read more

We have a duplex Victorian in San Francisco. We have used Mark Bellingham Painting for years. We are always very pleased. First, Mark comes to our home and discusses all of our painting needs -- area to be painted, how to select colors, what needs to be done in advance, approximately how long it will take, the cost, etc. His crew of painters are very professional, very friendly, and they move any furniture in the way, cover it up, and totally clean up when the job is done. All of this makes for the least inconvenience possible. Every job they've done for us has been excellent! We recommend them highly. read more

We've been customers of Mark's for many years, utilizing his skill painting the inside/outside of our home, as well as staining our fences. He responded quickly and took care of the problem in just a few days. We couldn't be happier! We recommend Mark Bellingham Painting for all your needs. read more

Mark Bellingham Painting has painted/stained three of our homes in the past few years. He is our "go to guy". All the workers are ethical, polite and talented. They do a careful, complete job and in less time than was estimated. Always on time, neat and the cleanup is always great. They can get to certain areas that other companies cannot and without the extra cost of scaffolding, etc. We really appreciated that. We love all his employees and they must love the company, as they are all long time employees. Thank you again for the fantastic jobs. read more

From the estimate to completion of the job was a great experience. Management was on top of everything, thank you Tito! Cruz the day to day Foreman was just awesome. It's not often that you receive this kind of service and I found so refreshing to get quality service and a quality job without hassle. Hire these guys if you need painting! read more

Mark's team of painters just finished painting the interior of my house in the Inner Richmond. They had painted my neighbor's home several times and I saw the professional quality work that they performed. Not only did they do a top-notch job on my kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room but they were a great team of people to work with. They were on-time, clean and communicated clearly about the steps in the process, how long it was going to take and what they were going to do. They were receptive to my feedback and opinions. You could tell that Mark takes good care of the workers as they all had a great attitude. I can highly recommend this team of professionals to anyone looking for high quality work. read more

They did a beautiful job on our indoor walls, mantle, and three red exterior semi gloss doors. From the time Mark came for our estimate appointment with official documents including proof of insurance and contractors license, through the end of the job, everything was punctual and exceeded expectations. We brought in Mark and his crew to paint an entire floor in our condo and to do some carpentry work, including a significant expansion of a small bedroom closet. They were as good as advertised! Mark was very responsive and easy to work with in the consultation/estimate phase, and the crew that he sent out to do the work were all very friendly and efficient. We tried to make things difficult for them by adding/adjusting a few things as the project went on, but they absorbed all of this with zero complaints and lots of helpful feedback/ideas. They also took the time to get little all the little details right (e.g., searching for trim that very nearly mirrored the very old trim in our bedroom, searching for closet windows that precisely matched our vague descriptions, etc.). We'll definitely use Mark and his crew in the future for this type of project, and will unreservedly recommend him to our friends. read more

I'm a residential property manager in the city. We met with several of the top painting companies before deciding to go with Mark and his crew to paint the interior of our 3-story Pac. Hts. building. His estimate was on par with others but I liked that he made a point of paying his workers a higher wage for quality work. Even so, his bid came in slightly below the others. Plus, these guys are his crew - no journeymen or day laborers you have to worry about. From day one the guys were on time, polite, professional and communicative. Enrique, the crew leader, was excellent in every respect. He paid attention to every detail and would seek me out to make sure things were being done to my satisfaction. They went above and beyond my expectations with their work. I'm happy, my tenants are thrilled, and our building has an elegance it never had before. Then there's this: Our front door has sidelights and windows above, wood-finished on the interior and painted on the exterior. We discussed the cost of refinishing the wood interior but agreed it would be costly due to the time required and decided to have it painted. But, when the guys stripped the old varnish off down to bare wood, we had beautiful mahogany that screamed for refinishing. They refinished it alright. It turned out so nice I now consider the guys to be skilled wood refinishers, too. They did such a good job I had them refinish the entire exterior door area which had many many years of paint to be stripped. The result was simply fantastic and gave the front of the building a grand appearance. And the best part? All that extra work added just a slight bit to the final cost. Hiring Mark and his crew was a great decision and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. As a matter of fact, we're waiting on his bid to do the exterior of the building so we can make the entire building a true showplace. read more
