After the service was done I realized that the lady kept starring at my eyebrows as if something wasn't right while she was checking me out on the register. I didn't notice until I got home one of my eyebrows came out way more thinner. I'm so upset I don't understand how this happened I grew out my eyebrows thick enough I only requested to get them cleaned. Mind you I came in at 11 to get started on my nails. Lisa then starts rushing on my nails messes up a FEW polkadots and uses the nail file and messed up another nail. She expected me to pay $100 of rushed work and walk away. She then started to call me names and say I'm very picky and that she doesn't want to do my nails anymore and that no one at the establishment wants to do my nails. I have been going there for over seven years. I've only had about two or three nail techs and they have all left the establishment. She is very rude and will do sloppy work when she is feeling rushed and will tell you that you are too picky. I save lives for a living and all you have to do is do my nails correctly and I'm picky? It's such an insult. Especially after giving these people hundreds /thousands of dollars over the years. I highly suggest you guys start reconsidering coming to this establishment because it has greatly changed over the years. The only person that I trust on the nail side is Natalie. She does amazing pedicures and she will always make sure that it is done to your liking. When I told her I was a welder at a rocket company, she asked if my business/comp works in that company. I'm assuming she thought I made a lot of money, which I don't. And little did she know I'm actually an esthetician myself. Normally you do a consultation and look at my skin. I wrote on paper that my face was dry, flaky, and I have a lot of hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Typically you look through a bright light and feel around my face and throughly check to see what type of skin I have. Joan did not do that. Throughout my facial. She didn't explain what product she's using on my face or asked if I preferred a certain mask. After exfoliation with picking out my comodones on my nose and face she used microdermabrasion which was really dry. There was no hydration or liquid, so while performing microdermabrasion on my skin, I just felt air sucking on my face and I told her my face was dry, but she continued talking about her life tips. The facial took 45 minutes all together. Then when I was getting ready to pay I asked her which facial was performed, she charged me the expensive microdermabrasion which was $125! I was surprised that it cost that much. Then she told me credit card would be 3% charge! I couldn't believe how much I was being charged so I questioned her about the mask, because I didn't feel like she applied the mask , but she said it was a leave in mask. Joan was nice but I wish she would've explained the product more, talked about my skincare instead of giving me life tips, and not assume I had money to spend a facial that should've cost $75. Overall I gave her a nice tip because as an esthetician myself I know what it feels like to work on tips. I honestly had a more professional facial at massage envy or even at Paul Mitchell. Once I got a bikini wax done at a popular waxing salon chain, and the comments made by my esthetician about my amount of body hair made me feel very insecure and almost "dirty". It was incredibly an embarrassing experience for me. For this reason, I'm very picky about where I go to get myself waxed and I do a lot of research beforehand. I was in the Long Beach area for a cruise, and realized the day before that I had forgotten to get my underarms and legs waxed. I tried booking online with Wax Candy but couldn't get an appointment slot so I just called and asked if I could walk in. Wax Candy was very accommodating with the fact that I did a walk-in appointment at the last minute for urgent hair removal for multiple parts of my body. Myisha did my underarms, tummy, and tushy waxes. She was super professional and made me feel comfortable with getting waxed. I really appreciated her not making any comments on my body hair or the fact that I'd literally came in to my appointment almost straight from the airport (so I didn't exactly look the best either). I also worked with Ivy to get my legs waxed. She made me feel really comfortable too and I actually got to learn a lot about the Long Beach area by talking to them both! None of the waxes I got hurt much at all. I was actually really surprised by this, because I get waxed regularly and am used to it being a painful process. Both Myisha and Ivy are very clearly professionals, and it shows in their ability to wax hair so quickly that you barely feel it at all! Overall I had a great experience and if I had to rank all the waxing salons I've been to, this one would be at the top of the list.
