Marissa's studio is so beautiful! My partner and I were gifted/given heirloom wedding and engagement rings from her family, but the settings were old and didn't fit our fingers. We brought in the rings to Marissa and she helped take the diamond and emerald stones and give them new life in beautiful, classic settings. Fast, quick and reasonably priced, which is a rare trifecta that she masters. A few months later, we came back to get one of the settings resized, as it had turned out to be a bit too tight and she did it for us no problem. I'll start with the pros: I ordered a beautiful ring from Marissa and was happy with how it looked. It needed to be resized, so I mailed it back to her, which is where things started to go south. FedEx said that package was delivered, but Marissa didn't receive it. I understand packages get stolen-- but shouldn't a jeweler have a mail slot at the very least, or a sign saying not to leave packages at the door? It was unfortunately difficult to communicate with Marissa from that point onwards and she did not offer any kind of compensation, even in the form of a future discount. I really regret having to leave this review and avoided doing so for quite some time, but I would have wanted to know this information before making such a large purchase as it might have affected my decision. read more

Phenomenal experience working with Marissa to design two custom rings. I don't usually write reviews, but since I found Marissa on Yelp I want to make sure that anyone else searching for a high-quality independent jeweler knows to come straight to her. I really wanted to work with someone local, someone I could meet face-to-face and truly collaborate with for such an important and expensive purchase. I looked at some larger more well-known jewelers in Manhattan and Brooklyn, but found their style to be really impersonal (didn't hear back for 3-5 days after submitting an inquiry for custom work, and often talking with an assistant rather than the jeweler themselves). By contrast, Marissa was a dream to work with. Incredibly responsive over email, warm and welcoming personality, and a flexible and collaborative working style. She invited us to stop by her (extremely cute) BK Heights studio whenever we needed to check out stones or touch base on the design. It truly felt like we were co-creating the rings together -- I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted for one of them, and she respected that while also providing stone suggestions and design adjustments that took it to the next level. She never once pressured us into more expensive options, respected our sometimes unconventional desires, and was able to complete our rings in an incredibly short time frame while delivering stunning, high-quality work. On top of that, Marissa was incredibly high-integrity, transparent, and trustworthy throughout the process. For novice jewelry buyers like me, it's such a relief to work with someone who clearly just wants the best for you and wants to deliver that at an honest and fair price. Marissa was able to recreate my special piece for a fraction of the designer cost. She used the finest gems and the best quality material which made it totally bling bling! I was referred to Marissa by her middle(Lindsay) school classmate. I needed my engagement rings center stone removed( I needed it appraised and a new GIA certificate because I lost the original.)I was divorced and wanted to do something different with the ring. Marissa was AMAZING! She offered to take the center diamond (over 3 carats )to get it appraised and get a new GIA certificate. I would never agree to this but tbere's something about Marissa I automatically trusted her. Then I asked can you make me earrings out of the side stones, she was like sure.
