We discovered this place online while searching for shrimp tacos since Lent had just started and we…read morewere avoiding meat today. Overall, our experience landed somewhere in the middle, there were definite highlights along with a few areas that could use some improvement. We started with the calamari, which unfortunately seemed a bit overcooked and had a slightly rubbery texture. The chips and salsa, however, were a strong start, the salsa tasted fresh and flavorful. The shrimp tacos were well prepared, juicy, and nicely seasoned. The rice also stood out with really good flavor. On the other hand, the crab in the siete mares soup didn't taste as fresh as expected and had a slightly off note to it. The aguas frescas were refreshing and enjoyable. One small surprise was that refills are not offered (unlike many similar spots), which we only realized when the bill arrived. Service was a highlight of the visit. Our waitress was warm, attentive, and consistently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. She offered helpful suggestions and created a welcoming experience from the moment we walked in. The classic cultural décor and overall ambiance gave the space a pleasant, comfortable vibe. While the food experience was mixed for us this visit, the excellent service and inviting atmosphere made the experience enjoyable overall, and we hope to see some refinements in the future.

My mom and I stopped at Bluewater Grill back in July while we were leaving Phoenix and heading to…read morethe airport, and WOW. What an experience! From the food to the service, everything was chef's kiss! It was our first time there, so we weren't sure what to order. Our server was absolutely AMAZING. She was so kind, patient, and genuinely helpful with her recommendations. I asked if they had raspberry or peach sweet iced tea, and instead of just saying no, she literally came up with her own concoction for me! That little extra touch meant so much. She even took the time to chat with us about where we were headed because we had a flight to catch. She was incredibly friendly, personable, and made us feel like more than just another table. And THE FOOD?! Absolutely delicious. We especially loved the shrimp dish so much that we ordered TWO more plates to go so we could eat them at the gate while waiting for our flight! lol That should tell you everything you need to know. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, but honestly, the customer service is what made this visit unforgettable. This woman deserves ALL the recognition because she was giving A1 service from beginning to end. I actually called the restaurant afterward because I wanted to find out her name, and I was told Ashley. I really hope that's the right girl because that name definitely rings a bell! If it is her, Ashley, THANK YOU! You were so kind to my mom and me and made our experience so special. So if you're in the Phoenix area, ruuuuuuun!!!

My family and I have been coming here for years, today we went to celebrate my sister's graduation,…read morethis is her favorite restaurant. Their house blend is the best sauce I've ever had, that alone is what keeps us coming back, I believe it is a Viet style Cajun sauce. We usually get the build your own combo, with crawfish, snow crab, and a few appetizers like french fries, garlic noodles, and onion rings. I believe they have changed management recently, or in the past few years. Although the sauce remains delicious, the food quality seems to be falling, and I see that they have a few food safety violations listed on their Yelp. The garlic noodles were swimming in the watery sauce, and the Cajun fries were not tossed, just sprinkled on top. The restaurant has never been that busy when we go, and there is usually is only one server doing all the hosting, food running, and waitressing. Ours seemed to be a little stressed today, and did not refill our drinks as much as we would've preferred, and forgot things like our salt and pepper. We will probably still keep coming just for that sauce, but looks like the restaurant has a few things to work out to bring back its former glory.

I picked the garlic and lemon pepper. well unfortunately they use the garlic that is already crushed and cut and not fresh garlic in their food and they overcooked the crab and if you do get the lobster tail, they give you 1 whole lobster tail cut in half for two people and they give you lots of shrimp, I mean a lot of shrimp compared to anything else in that seafood broil bag had they overcooked all the sea food and they used a lot of that crushed already diced garlic. That did not make the food Taste good at all. They put way too much garlic in it, and the food was impossible to eat because it was overcooked and it was rubbery. I was very disappointed on how much money I spent . if I knew in advance that they had a family emergency and was closing 1 hour early I would've waited and come back the next day and maybe the food would've have tasted a lot better. It was the lobster seafood boil for two couples, and I bought two sets for four couples. Just beware that if they're in a hurry, try not to be in a hurry to eat here. You probably get a better experience than what my family did. I've been to crab shacks before that has seafood boil and they were way better and not so stingy for the price they charge you. when I was there, there was only one family sitting at a table. The rest of the restaurant was empty. The waitress she was very friendly and very nice and very accommodating.

Only downside is that…read morefor some reason Apple maps was not accurate to finding the location and parking was a challenge as it is right on Roosevelt Row. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!
