Favorite shrimp tacos to grab from San Juan. Simple yet delicious every time . Even better if you grab a michelada with your meal.

Super voice

I have always like the tacos de camarón (love them) from this place, I will give them a 9/10 on the food. I don't really like it that they seat me by the speaker and a lady was singing so loud that I was very upset. I move out to another table away from the speaker but the singing was super loud. I don't like that. I think music and good ambiance is great and super but please, don't let it be so loud. I'm not at the club, they should measure the difference. It was only 3pm. I am giving this restaurant today 4 stars just because of the food and a guy that sign a romantic song. This men was singing very smooth and this change the ambiance, he was a client and he was super.

Ceviche.

I love a good mixture of ceviche and one of my girlfriends recommended this place. San Juan is known for their seafood dishes so my husband and I decided to pay a visit. Everything on the menu is seafood based -- ranging from Shrimp Tacos to Whole Fish plates, and even oysters! I ordered the mixed seafood ceviche which had some crab, octopus, and whole shrimp. It was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of tomatoes and avocado. My husband ordered the whole fish plate (there are two different fishes to choose from) which came with some salad, rice, and tortillas. The fish was extra crispy on the outside and was rich in flavor in the inside. We both agreed our plates were really worth noting for freshness and taste. There's a jukebox for music in which patrons can select their favorite jams. Our server was attentive and very polite. I'm only deducting one star from this review because the corridor walking up to the front door is very filthy and smells horrible (maybe sewage problem?). Aside from that, it's definitely worth checking out if you want a hearty Mexican inspired seafood dish.

Small Plato Mixto(fish ceviche,octopus,shrimp)

Mariscos San Juan 2!! Ive been coming to this location for over 10 years. The building is a but outdated, yet it has a family environment and delicious seafood! To drink I ordered the Agua de Jamaica (one of my favorites) refreshing for this heatwave! I ordered a Small plato mixto , Crispy Shrimp tacos and a Campechana (octopus, shrimp, oysters) the flavors are like no other. The service is quick, the waitress was super nice and served us promptly. The food is freshly made, the seafood has to be one of my personal favorites in San Jose!

Yummy Picante Botanas

Have always loved this spot! Their shrimp tacos are a forever favorite. Love the shrimp with my beer too, nice touch. Recently had their pulpo botanas, OMG this is octopus!?! So delicious. I got it picante yum! FYI "Picante" meaning spicy was way too spicy for my boyfriend, but PERFECTION for me. And i got to eat more myself hehehe. So be careful if you don't have a high tolerance. A bit pricey but it's 100% shrimp and octopus and worth it, just share the deliciousness with a friend. It won't disappoint.

We pulled up around 2:30AM, slightly buzzed and somehow fully committed to a seafood boil in the middle of the night. Honestly? Zero regrets. First of all, the place was surprisingly packed for that hour which immediately made us trust the process. We ordered a huge seafood boil with king crab legs on the side and fried rice, and we completely grubbed out. Everything was buttery, flavorful, messy, spicy, and exactly what you want after a night out. The fried rice was ridiculously good too and somehow became one of the sleeper favorites of the whole meal. Still can't get over the fact they're open until 4AM. We've literally talked about going back multiple times since. Such a clutch late-night spot.

It's so unique and addicting with a perfect sweetness to it that isn't overwhelming with a slight creaminess and not as savory as most other seafood boils. The crawfish they use is amazing as well, it must be a different kind from most others because the meat is more tender and sweet. I have no problem sucking the claw meat out where as other restaurants I have to dig inside the claw to pull out the meat. Soooo good and I visit as often as I can. Friendly service. They offer other food options as well like Bun Bo Hue, Bun Rieu, etc, but the seafood boil is so good that's all I ever get here. It's also open till 4am!!! Club and seafood boil after?

With French and Chinese influences, Bột Chiên is a Viet street food consisting of crispy flour cakes mixed with eggs and served with crack sauce (soy based). Sadly, it doesn't exist in the city (to my knowledge) and the closest thing is at Red Bowl in Daly City. It's alright but not nearly as good as the ones in E Man Jose. It was delicious with the savory, sweet, and tangy crack sauce and đồ chua (pickled carrot + daikon). To nitpick, I wish the flour cakes were hot (seemed like it was cooked ahead). Too bad you can't add to the waitlist beforehand. We ended up getting seated at our table around 7:50pm This location is not as big as the other SJ location but it is slightly less busy than that one since it's further out. They have a white board near the door that lists the seafood that they're out of for the day, which is helpful to note. Menu and pricing is available through the QR code on the table We ordered 2lbs of shrimp and 1 lb of crawfish in medium spice with the whole shabang to share between 2 people. The seafood boil came out hot and within 10 mins but we felt like it wasn't marinaded into the seafood, potato's and corn enough. Portion and spice wise was perfect though. We were hoping to order garlic noodles but was a little disappointed it wasn't on their menu. Our host was attentive though and came by to check on us and give us more gloves

I was really disappointed with our visit. I haven't been to The Boiling Crab in years--probably 7…read moreyears or more. One reason is that I don't live in the San Jose area anymore, and another is that there are now so many seafood boil spots around since Boiling Crab really started the trend. One positive right away: there was no long wait. We arrived around 8pm and were seated immediately, which was great. I remember the days when we'd have to put our name down and walk around Target while waiting for our table. I do wish they offered combo bags like a lot of other seafood boil places do now, since that's always a hit. Instead, we ordered 3 pounds of shrimp with whole-sha-bang sauce in mild. The shrimp themselves were great--nice and big, not the tiny peanut-sized ones you sometimes get. The flavor was also really good. However, the "mild" tasted much spicier than I remembered. From past visits, mild always had a small kick but was still pretty manageable. This honestly tasted closer to medium. My boyfriend politely asked one of the servers if he could get a small side of garlic butter because the sauce was spicier than expected. She immediately responded that it would be $5 for extra sauce, and the way it was said came off pretty rude. We understand that there's an option to make the bag "extra saucy" for an additional charge, but he wasn't asking for extra sauce for the whole bag--just a small side to balance out the spice. Even a simple response like "I'm sorry it came out spicier than expected" would have gone a long way. I've worked in customer service for over 15 years, and I've always believed in "kill them with kindness." We weren't rude at all--we just mentioned that it seemed spicier than mild. In the end, we decided to just skip the extra sauce. Again, the flavor was still good, but to me this definitely tasted more like medium. When we got our check, a different server asked how everything was. My boyfriend mentioned that the sauce was spicier than mild, and she responded with, "Oh no, I'm sorry it wasn't exactly what you wanted." We told her it wasn't her fault since we had already mentioned it earlier, and she just gave us a sympathetic look. Overall, the food itself was good, and I'd probably give it a 4 for taste, but the lack of customer service knocked the experience down for me. I understand it was later in the evening and they still had a full lobby, but a little kindness and attentiveness would have made a big difference.

I'm used to typical straightforward nature at markets, but their attitude is something else. I was constantly berated while looking at mangos near the door. Literally the whole time, an employee was standing right next to me and nagging me as if I was about to topple all the fruit off the stand or completely obstructing the door. I wasn't, and it's absolutely normal to sort through and select fruit? These mangos are EXPENSIVE, I don't want to just blindly pick a box. When I asked if I should pay outside or inside at the cashier (since some grocers will have you pay for outside merchandise, outside), she rudely asked if I was blind and couldn't see the cashier. I asked the cashier about this behavior (in Vietnamese) and was entirely ignored. Literally not a single word said. Not sure why I hadn't just left at this point, but I bought 6 large, rather expensive, boxes. I truly regret it because even THEN, they made me feel like a nuisance for setting them down outside as I carried them 2-by-2 to my car on the other side of the parking lot. There are no carts and I'm not exactly the strongest body builder out there, not sure what they expected of me. I regret spending my money here. There are plenty other stores in the area for tropical fruit, with better prices and better service.
