Tacos you're absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed the Marlon, the fish and the shrimp tacos! Service is wonderful, you feel very welcome here, they are so friendly and efficient. Food is ready in minutes and made fresh to order, prices and portions are fair. Very clean restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and easy parking. The free chips and lime brought your table is a nice touch and we're also very tasty as was the salsa. Highly recommend it! read more

Tacos Marlin were the bomb. The rest of the food was meh... the shrimp cocktail had like 4 shrimp, the server asked my partner why he didn't finish the cocktail. We replied with "there was only 5 shrimp" he shrugged it off and walked away. Service was ok.. Mariscos Nice is so far my fave! read more

Mariscos Mocorito - dirty shrimp :( - Mexican Near Me - Orange, California

Lots of mexican people. Packed... like every table. However, I tried the coctales and the fish tacos. I just didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Personally I like Taco Nazo much much more. Still, for a place this popular, it's worth a visit if this is your preference. read more

Currently my favorite Mariscos! Freshness of the shrimp on my shrimp civichi tostada was awesome. Most places add a ton of vegetables with shrimp you can hardly taste the shrimp. At this place the shrimp chunks were large and fresh. Definitely coming back read more

Great food as always and very good customer service. I visit often with my family and will be back soon.

Este lugar es lo mejor en mariscos molcajete tacos lo que tienen es lo mejor en Orange

Def recommend the marlin tacos are I haven't found any other place in OC that can replicate an authentic Marlin tacos

I'm unsure how this spot has so many good reviews. Went here on a Saturday morning and was looking forward to some really good ceviche. I had no idea that the shrimp would be black and 100% raw. It had a slight hue of pink as if they tried to cook it. And it wasn't chopped it was like shredded, so every bite you took was stringy - it was just horrible. I know that some people like things raw but others don't, maybe asking how we like our shrimp cooked could've been an option? Not only that but the flavor was so bland. Usually a traditional dish has so much flavor from the veggies and lime that go into it and I was SO disappointed. If you like raw ceviche this spot may be for you! read more

A popular mariscos location, but overrated if you ask me, a mile north of Chapman University. Solid but somewhat limited mariscos menu. Service can be frustrating and a bit of an issue. It is painstakingly slow and inattentive. Their signature marlin fish taco ($3.20) is worth trying. The meat has a taste and texture similar to tuna but sweeter and slightly stronger flavor. Unquestionably the best item on their menu that includes shrimp taco ($2.50), fish taco ($2.50), in addition to other traditional mariscos items like seafood tostadas, shrimp cocktails and ceviche. The marlin taco is piled on a pan-fried thickly shelled tortilla - along with crema, shredded cabbage and salsa fresca - then folded in half. A novelty item (since it is not located in a seaport city) for sure but well worth the $3.20. Both the fish and shrimp tacos are tasty but nothing too special. They almost seem like an afterthought to me. People generally come here for the marlin taco. Those foolishly hoping to find a non-seafood item do not have many options. The chicken nuggets are a joke - $4.99 for probably store bought (and previously frozen) nuggets along with fries. Service, as I mentioned, is a real turn-off. While certainly not at all contentious, they are unapologetic for making its customers wait. This seems to be an constant issue whether you come at a busy time or not. I cannot jump on the bandwagon of fans here. Not understanding the love affair people have with this place. Aside from the marlin tacos, there are better spots for mariscos. read more

Came here twice in three days...once after a client meeting and second time had to bring hubby back because he'd been craving Mex shrimp cocktail for a few weeks now. This was the perfect place to take him. Both time, service was very friendly and attentive. So far, we have had: - Shrimp taco - Fried shrimp; tasty but lots of batter on shrimp; fried stuff is always tasty - Molcajete - Basically the campechana but with aguachile (raw shrimp) and topped with a giant raw oyster; delicious, eat with crackers or the tostadas - Shrimp cocktail - Very generous service with a crapload of shrimp and avo. - Camarones Culichi - Super decadent; I wish I had soft corn tortillas to eat with this. (Why is it green, btw?) - Aguachile - Probably my favorite thing here. Best version I've had. And I've had a few. - Michelada - Super refreshing; got mine with Modelo Couple other things: - Sodas come in cans (so obviously, no refills for you guzzlers out there) - Tip in cash only - They literally only have 25 things on the menu including dessert; it's picture-heavy and quite clearly shows all the items they serve. - If you're looking to get chicken tacos or whatever, this is not the place for you. - If you're bringing a friend who's looking to get chicken tacos while you chow down on seafood, this is not the place to bring him/her. I know they have rice because it came with the culichis but I don't know if they even serve beans. Enjoy! read more

I don't think is the best seafood place like other reviews. The food is alright but maybe my food was not as great because I order it to go. At the prices, they charge they could add more shrimp to the tostadas. read more

If your looking for great seafood, look no further! This is the best spot in the neighborhood for fresh, amazingly flavored dishes. I highly recommend the shrimp culichis! It's always one of my favorite things to get when I come. And as if the food isn't enough to keep me coming back, they also have the best micheladas in town! read more

I was craving ceviche ..so I looked on Yelp for a restaurant to go to especially with family in town.. we came here and it did not disappoint... service was great. ... the older gentleman (waiter) was super nice ... Food was good .. reasonable price and good micheladas!!! I would definitely return when I'm In Town again.. read more

CEVICHE - YESSSSS I did so much research to find a good ceviche place that wouldn't throw me under the bus. Drove all the way here for that and it was worth it. FRESH, i.e I was worried about the food being fishy, not the case this night. - Fish/pescado ceviche $2.70 - SO great, fresh, just the right amount of spicy + acidity. - - Shrimp/octopus ceviche (they come with the tostada) $4.50 - large serving, shrimp was rightly cooked, not overdone, octopus was soft, not chewy. That's what i wanted! octopus is such a tricky protein. It was not well seasoned, bland. But they come with plenty of limes and tapatio if you like. I personally mixed the ceviche de pescado and this one and it was great. - - - Molcajete $13 - i bought these to go, and it was a big container full of raw and cooked shrimp, octopus, one oyster, abalone, and aguachile. It was great and so healthy. All dishes came with gorgeous, unbruised avocado slices. Comes with the wrapped tostadas so they dont get soggy, a baggie of limes and plenty of tapatio. Cheap, fresh, healthy! definitely need to come back for the infamous marlin taco. Service extremely friendly and fast. I see why they are among the best ceviches in the OC (many articles name them, that's how i found it) Parking easy, it's within a parking lot. Closing times on Saturday was 9pm, not as listed on yelp. So call the same day to check. Bueno provecho indeed read more

I would definitely never order their shrimp and fish tacos ever again. The salsa was salty and the tacos only had 2 pieces of shrimp and a small piece of fish which is not worth the price. Maybe their other dishes are good but I wouldn't recommend getting the tacos. read more

I've never ate here before but I've ordered their Micheladas multiple times. They even have a special when you buy a certain quantity. Their mix is super good. Everyone is very helpful and if you call ahead they'll prepare them and have them ready for you. read more

Great food and service! The food is fresh and drinks are on point. Very friendly staff very accommodating.

I had the popular dish Camarones Culichis. It came with some salad and rice. It tasted pretty good. Creamy and garlicky, but they were skimpy with the shrimp. We also had the shrimp cocktel, a fish taco and fish ceviche. I found all were skimpy on the main ingredient, the shrimp and the fish. Unfortunate because flavor-wise they were spot-on. Maybe I'll go back. Maybe. read more

Some of the most delicious aguachiles I have ever had. For real. The shrimp ceviche is bomb too. My boyfriend was telling me about this place so we finally went. Stopped here after visiting the used book store next door and had a really good lunch. My wife and I split a couple of fish tacos and ceviche tostadas. The staff was working hard to take care of everyone and keep the tables and place clean. Will definitely try again. read more

I come to Mariscos Mocorito everytime I need my ceviche craving satisfied. It never fails. The portions are big and prices are reasonable. My go-to dish is ceviche de camaron. It has a lot of shrimp, finely chopped vegetables and the right amount of lime. I definitely recommend adding some hot sauce for the extra kick. I will definetely be coming back. read more

This place is all Hype!! All these reviews are obviously by Orange County's drunkest. Service was good, food was kind of bad.. Aguachile did have some fresh shrimp but they missed out on the "chile" part as it tasted kind of flavorless and not spicy at all. Michelada taste like a big cup of chamoy, lime, salt, salt and iced water.. if you don't like the taste of beer and you love chamoy and high blood pressure these micheladas are for you. Finally the oysters.. everything was ok until I take the last one down and i realized that it was bad.. really bad. As a restaurant your #1 priority is food safety, food doesn't have to be liked by all but making sure your food is safe so it doesn't hurt somebody is a requirement. I am not the type to complain about food to try and not pay for the dish, you either earn my return business or you don't. I just ate there earlier today hopefully that foul and rotten oyster doesn't kick my ass later. read more

We come here maybe once a month. Today it was pretty busy. We walked in we got seated right away love their promptness. Their food was delicious as always. The one thing that really bugged me there was a waitress seating in front of me. I assumed she was done with her shift because she was drinking a beer. She was sitting with two men. She then proceeded to get up and go in the back clock in and started working. While she was working she dropped a tables food on the floor before handing it to them and then we were leaving and she ran into the fire extinguisher and it fell off the wall and on the floor. Whatever manager was in charge was obviously not watching what was being put in front of the employee. Her name was Brenda. read more

Have been coming here for years... the food to me has always been very good. But I am sorry to say the service has really gone down. In a nutshell, the last few times we have been here, the waitresses will bring food out at random times leaving people in your party almost done with some just getting their food. But today was the worse... my husband and mom ordered tacos and I ordered a ceviche tostada. They got their food and my tostada never came! No waitress came by for me to ask where my food was! But they were quick to serve the table full of guys ordering rounds of beer, that's for sure... I thought this was a restaurant, not a pub? We finally asked for our bill and told them to take my tostada off since they never brought it. No apology, nothing from the waitresses! Ladies, you just lost a long-time customer. read more

4.5 stars! The shrimp cocktail is DELICIOUS and tastes sooo fresh. I love how they had a large assortment of sauces and the waitresses are very kind. I tried the marlin taco because everyone on here has been raving about them but tbh I found them very fishy and couldn't finish the whole thing :(. I will definitely be coming back here for their shrimp cocktail and ceviche! read more

Shrimp is raw in the ceviche it's like they didn't even marinate it with lime. It was black and grey and the Tostadas I ordered of ceviche went to the trash. I went with my wife and I was intrigued by the good reviews and I wanted to experience this first hand. It's a very clean restaurant with ample indoor and outdoor dining. The decor is very clean, simple decor of black and shades of grays. TVs line each wall with games of baseball and soccer. The service was excellent. We were seated immediately and the server was very attentive and helpful. The drinks and food brought to our table quickly. The drinks were micheladas and Mexican beers. The menu is somewhat limited focusing on shrimp cocktail, ceviche, fish tacos, one or two soaps. No beans or rice, chips and salsa. If you're looking for more in fried fish, burrito plates, or fish tostadas, this is not the place. I had a shrimp taco and a fish taco and my wife had the marlin tacos. For some reason they like to burn the tortilla for the marlin tacos. Overall, the tacos were good, not great. The fish was fresh but each table had an array of hot sauces and I think you needed to embellish the tacos with the hot sauces for flavor. This place had quite a few customers but For me, it was a one and done experience. read more

I've been coming here for at least seven years... maybe more !! I love their shrimp cocktail and their ceviche tostadas. my husband loves their shrimp soup , he swears by their soup ! whenever he's sick...He always asked me to get him soup. The shrimp cocktails are full,,, I mean full full of yummy fat shrimps lots of cucumbers and tomatoes and everything else they put in it, the juice is great. it's a little small inside but they have the ability to open up the French doors to add a little bit more space and they also have seating outside and it's very clean in there all the staff are very attentive very kind I speak very limited Spanish but I can get by there. they're very gracious and very helpful every time I go in. read more

This place is known for the ceviche. Good stuff. Cooked not with heat but with lime juice. We had the platter with fish, shrimp and octopus (aguachile con callo de hacha). All very tasty and spicy with the aguachile. Was good to eat with a michelada (a combination of beer, Clamato, sauces and spices). Don't use a straw because you want the spices around the rim. They have all kinds of Mexican beers, too. read more
