It's a small place so it can get very crowded at peak times so I suggest you come early or late, but don't let that keep you from trying this little gem. What a GREAT Sunday afternoon. Mariscos was packed, met some new people and made some new amigos. The drinks and food was wonderful as always. Man.... I saw so many amazing reviews. I was really excited to try this place out. In fairness we went on lunch and I ordered from the lunch menu. We ordered the pasta and it tasted like fettuccine noodles with macaroni and cheese and then hot sauce mixed in. I'm not trying to be rude. But literally that's what it tasted like. I added shrimp and the shrimp seemed like it was steamed, but there was no seasoning on the shrimp. My date had a similar experience with his lunchtime quesadilla. I may have to come back at a later time and eat here for dinner and give it a second chance because I'm not one to give a bad review but this Isn't even a meal that I want to eat. Uhg we wanted to like this place so bad and maybe we just caught them on a bad night. I was very busy when we were seated, our waiter took our drink order quickly. They just revamped their menu and there was so many food options it was a little overwhelming because everything looked so good. We ordered some chips and queso to start (4/10). It took 15 -20 minutes for those to come out and when it did it came with one of our entrees (the carnitas-7/10). Our second entree was the seafood boil but we were brought the fajitas instead. I HATE sending food back. They did get it fixed no problem and very nice about it. Our boil came out 10-15 minutes later and it was initially great! However, some of our crab legs were cold . The bottled beer was a little more expensive than expected at 5$ a bottle. But their mixed drink menu was great! Overall, for the ticket price I was kind of disappointed. read more

We were really looking forward to trying Marisco's because of the Mexican seafood concept that is not easily found in the Midwest. Sadly, it did not live up to expectations. The ceviche appetizer that we had was sadly devoid of flavor, and the shrimp boil was greasy and over cooked, which made the shrimp extremely messy and difficult to peel. The highlight was the mixed drink that I ordered. I was super disappointed, as I enjoy well made ceviche, and sadly this was not that. Oh! And the thing that took the cake was when we got our bill, they had charged me the SAME price for my iced tap water as they did my husband for his fountain drink. Went on a busy Saturday and the atmosphere was pleasant as well as an attentive waitress. Now to the bad part...the food was mediocre at best. Warm oysters on the half shell, ceviche made with bagged and obviously frozen assorted seafood, soggy chicken fajita...the likes that you would find at Costco, shrimp Alfredo swimming in sauce, fish tacos made with the smallest fish stick money can buy and to put the cherry on top, overly sugary mixed drinks made with a splash of liquor. Reading the reviews, I was really excited to try this place and had I not read beforehand on other bad reviews, they automatically charge 18% gratuity on parties of 6 or more without mentioning anything beforehand so unsuspecting customers are easily left double tipping. It's an embarrassment that yelpers hyped this place up so much. Needless to say, this is a one and done establishment for me. read more

When you order they ask what kind of sauce you like on your dish. Verde,rojo,habanero, or house sauce. Which house sauce is a secret sauce the owner makes. We were told its dark in color and is very very hot and very spicy. So we went with verde on the ceviche&shrimp plate. Ordered the Ceviche plate with no sauce. The shrimp and fries plate was a bit salty for me but husband an kids enjoyed it. Husband ordered aguachile plate, spicy but enjoyed it. Services was good, very nice people!
