A simple looking shop with not so simple flavors. This place has all the mariscos greats and does them well. There is also a large drink menu with good prices (heavy pours) and nonalcoholic options. We loved our ceviche, Cajun crab boil, and shrimp in a creamy sauce dishes and kept looking at what other tables ordered. Everything tasted fresh, well sauced, and well seasoned. Our waiter was kind and helpful. We can't wait to go back and try so much more.

Very casual, small dining room. The tables are very small. We almost could not get all of our food on the table, The drinks are very good!! I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and we shared the seafood tower. Everything was very fresh and tasted great!

This place has been on my list to try for a while, so I was excited when my buddy decided for us to go here after work. The setting is very casual. We started off with a Michelada flight, which was a nice sampler of three different styles. I then ordered a seafood tower (torres). It comes with a good variety of seafood, and the portion is very generous. The only downside is that the server was a little pushy to take our order, when we were trying to have some conversation instead of ordering within the first 2-5 minutes. Trying fresh seafood in the middle of the country can be a gamble, but this place does it well. I will have to come back with the wife and try some of their other options.

Wow! Mariscos offers a variety of food a bev options with kick. Me and a couple of girlfriends came and were pleasantly surprised not only by the quality of the food, but the price of it as well! We each had two cocktails and a crab boil each for under $100! Our server was kind and took excellent care of us! We sat at one of the patio tables outside, but the bar inside was adorable and the place, though small, was gorgeous. The hot is hot! I will be getting the medium seasoning on my boil next time LOL!

If you love seafood and Mexican food this is the place. My son ordered the chicken fajitas they were full of flavor and a huge portion. I had a shrimp cocktail and a ceviche tostada they were the best I've had in KC. The service was also exceptional.

What an unexpected find on our Friday night search for a dinner option. We had some late afternoon errands & were hungry so we decided on finding something near the area we were in and through Yelp found Mariscos KC. Let's just say we are not hesitating to go back. We focused on the Cajun options with my husband getting the Shrimp Boil & I worked hard on the Crawfish Boil. We are not strangers to Seafood Boils and their base is the best we've ever had. The servers were smiling, friendly and efficient; especially Jenny who took great care of us. We like to sit at the bar especially a new place. It's a great to get to know the staff and how well a place runs and she is a great ambassador for the place. She insisted to come back and sit at the bar so she can take of us again Be sure to give this place a try and don't leave without trying their pineapple ice cream! Until next time.

Flavors on the seafood boil was amazing. The seafood itself is good. The potatoes are soft and the corn was sweet. You can tell this is frozen seafood but we will definitely come back!

This review is for the new location in Shawnee, Kansas because they do not have their new location listed yet. My husband and I went for their soft opening several weeks ago. The space is nicely redone and is very clean and bright. We were greeted immediately and sat immediately, but it took a long time for the waitress to come over and take our order, even though there were many servers just standing around the bar. I ordered the fajitas and my husband ordered their shrimp fried rice. The fajitas were just average, the portions were good size. I did appreciate their homemade guacamole. My husband said that his shrimp fried rice was pretty good and he ordered extra shrimp as well. They have an extensive menu and a variety of alcohol alcoholic beverages. The food came out in a decent amount of time from someone from the kitchen. I just feel like their service is lacking and they never checked back upon needing anything except to bring the check.

Ok, so I've been wanting to try Marisocos for a while and we finally were able to make it one Friday night in March. It was a beautiful evening and it was quite crowded inside, so we opted to sit outside...and kinda froze as the evening progressed (would not be remiss if they added heaters outside). Even though it was so crowded, our waitress took the time to help us figure out drinks an food options. I wanted to try their cocktails...sadly I cannot remember what I ordered. I wanted something less sweet and it was what was recommended...unfortunately, I was not a fan. Not because it was a bad, but I freely admit to being a snob when it comes to cocktails. Even though it wasn't as sweet...still waaaaaay too sweet for me. That being said, the food was far and away much better. I loved the calamari strips! Something similar but different to the traditional calamari starters you get...and they came out piping hot!! So YAY! He ordered the chicken tacos (boring LOL) but loved them so of course, always a win! I had the Molcajete Caliente - OMG the broth was delicious (like trying to drink with a straw delicious) and everything was perfectly cooked. My only complaint was that it wasn't spicy enough. Of course that was easily remedied by the hot sauces on the table ;). They also provided tostadas with the Molcajete so I was in a very messy heaven.

Very quaint spot, with not just a comprehensive seafood menu of Mexican dishes but other entrees of Cajun and Asian origins. We sat past finishing our meal enjoying the music genres of The staff was very attentive and if service with a smile was their motto.. they'd get an A+! They were poppin with every table occupied but we felt like the best customer! I relished in the flavors of the Shrimp Cocktail - mounds of shrimp!!

wow! this place was great. we got some oysters (it was my first time) and they were so good!! we also ended up kind of eating family style so we got come mixed Ceviche Tostada and it was great! i just wish they had brought out more limes to go with them as i thought it could've had a little more flavor. we also got the Seafood Boil and it was really good! i wish it had more crab as it barely had any and it was mostly crawfish which we were all upset about because there was only like one piece of crab and some shrimp and had one corn and a couple of potatoes but for the most part it was mostly crawfish. the service was great! our server was very nice and quick and came to check on us quite often and was very nice. it wasn't that busy but it was a good place to eat with friends! they have tvs on around the place and had spanish songs playing so it was a good vibe. their menu offers everything! from seafood, to chicken tenders, wings, and a lot more! i will definitely be coming back. their michelada wasn't the greatest as it needed more lime or more clamato it was just missing something. but they have so many yummy drinks!!! for good prices and they even have good happy hour and daily specials. a must visit for seafood and drinks in the kc area!

They have a huge menu with a lot of variety. We had some spicy shrimp with our heads on. It was good. The people across from us had this giant black cup filled with seafood, it looked better than what we ordered. The drinks looked good, service was quick, and really friendly. read more

Love this place and apparently so do many others as rumor has it that there may be a second location soon. The food is wonderful and the owners try hard to please. It's a small place so it can get very crowded at peak times so I suggest you come early or late, but don't let that keep you from trying this little gem. A good Mexican seafood restaurant is hard to find. read more

What a GREAT Sunday afternoon. Mariscos was packed, met some new people and made some new amigos. The drinks and food was wonderful as always. Took some of the mango cheesecake back to the hotekl for one of my co-workers. And sahe loved it !!. Carlos, Je3nnifer were on top of their games, and, of course, Juan, was running back and forth from the kitchen to the front to TT customers. Everyone is welcome at Mariscos, even Scott, the Gringo !!!! Forget about that other Mex place up the street in Olathe. LOL read more

Loved it, from the food to the service! This was hands down a perfect find. The prices can't be beat and the amount served is wonderful! Their margs were also on point. It is a tad loud but you can still hold a conversation. The place is on the smaller size and had tons of people coming and going. Our wait went by fast for a Saturday evening. Fantastic food! We ordered the Baja Taco lunch special, some of the BEST fish tacos anywhere! We especially liked the mango habanero sauce that our waitress suggested that we try with our shrimp, calamari or fish tacos. We will definitely go again the next time we're in Olathe! read more

Folks, if you happen to be in search of exceptional seafood, incredible service and a great value for the money, I highly recommend you look no further than Mariscos KC Restaurant in Olathe, KS. My sister and I had the pleasure of visiting there today. We ordered the Shrimp Seafood Tower and the Seafood Ceviche, split it, and had plenty of food to take home. The seafood and sauces were fresh and exceptional, our waitress took care of our every need and we found that the food was a great value for the money. Do yourself a favor, run (don't walk) to Mariscos KC whenever you are in the mood for some great seafood. You'll be glad you did! read more

Man.... I saw so many amazing reviews. I was really excited to try this place out. In fairness we went on lunch and I ordered from the lunch menu. We ordered the pasta and it tasted like fettuccine noodles with macaroni and cheese and then hot sauce mixed in. I'm not trying to be rude. But literally that's what it tasted like. I added shrimp and the shrimp seemed like it was steamed, but there was no seasoning on the shrimp. My date had a similar experience with his lunchtime quesadilla. I may have to come back at a later time and eat here for dinner and give it a second chance because I'm not one to give a bad review but this Isn't even a meal that I want to eat. I packaged it up and brought it home and I'm probably just gonna put it in the trash. . Server and atmosphere were great. No problems there. read more

Uhg we wanted to like this place so bad and maybe we just caught them on a bad night. I was very busy when we were seated, our waiter took our drink order quickly. They just revamped their menu and there was so many food options it was a little overwhelming because everything looked so good. We ordered some chips and queso to start (4/10). It took 15 -20 minutes for those to come out and when it did it came with one of our entrees (the carnitas-7/10). Our second entree was the seafood boil but we were brought the fajitas instead. I HATE sending food back. They did get it fixed no problem and very nice about it. Our boil came out 10-15 minutes later and it was initially great! However, some of our crab legs were cold . The bottled beer was a little more expensive than expected at 5$ a bottle. But their mixed drink menu was great! Overall, for the ticket price I was kind of disappointed. read more

We were really looking forward to trying Marisco's because of the Mexican seafood concept that is not easily found in the Midwest. Sadly, it did not live up to expectations. The ceviche appetizer that we had was sadly devoid of flavor, and the shrimp boil was greasy and over cooked, which made the shrimp extremely messy and difficult to peel. The highlight was the mixed drink that I ordered. I was super disappointed, as I enjoy well made ceviche, and sadly this was not that. Oh! And the thing that took the cake was when we got our bill, they had charged me the SAME price for my iced tap water as they did my husband for his fountain drink. I have never been charged for ice water in my life. read more

Went on a busy Saturday and the atmosphere was pleasant as well as an attentive waitress. Now to the bad part...the food was mediocre at best. Warm oysters on the half shell, ceviche made with bagged and obviously frozen assorted seafood, soggy chicken fajita...the likes that you would find at Costco, shrimp Alfredo swimming in sauce, fish tacos made with the smallest fish stick money can buy and to put the cherry on top, overly sugary mixed drinks made with a splash of liquor. Reading the reviews, I was really excited to try this place and had I not read beforehand on other bad reviews, they automatically charge 18% gratuity on parties of 6 or more without mentioning anything beforehand so unsuspecting customers are easily left double tipping. It's an embarrassment that yelpers hyped this place up so much. Needless to say, this is a one and done establishment for me. read more

Fun to try a new place in Olathe! The service was good, friendly, and fast. We tried the shrimp tacos, fish tacos and whole fried tilapia. Loved the mango on each of the dishes! My personal fav was the shrimp tacos. It is a little on the pricier end, but of course it's seafood! Def give this place a try! read more

Worth a try! Husband works in the area and has driven pass almost every day but never tried. He told me about it, so we went this pass Saturday 8/20/22. Party of 4, three adults an one thirteen yr old. Total check $128. So much food with 3 boxes to take home. If you like seafood, you will like this place. We went especially for the ceviche. When you order they ask what kind of sauce you like on your dish. Verde,rojo,habanero, or house sauce. Which house sauce is a secret sauce the owner makes. We were told its dark in color and is very very hot and very spicy. So we went with verde on the ceviche&shrimp plate. Ordered the Ceviche plate with no sauce. The shrimp and fries plate was a bit salty for me but husband an kids enjoyed it. Husband ordered aguachile plate, spicy but enjoyed it. Services was good, very nice people! Seafood Tower was delicious. I would recommend and will be back. read more

Awesome seafood and great atmosphere. Have been here as often as we can since discovering in March and every time we find something new and amazing. Highly recommend the crazy beers appetizer, my favorite in KC! So over the top but the flavor is amazing and the value is unmatched (easily a full meal for 2 people and a very filling appetizer for 4). read more

Super friendly staff and food was amazing. Indoor seating was a little cool and loud but we were able to move to outdoor seating without any issues. We had the shrimp seafood tower, green aguachiles, and dorilocos starters. These were all great but the Mexican candy shooters are what I can't stop thinking of! Ummmm. Per the IG post I had big expectations. But it was basic. I was imagining the juicy spiciness with great flavors......but I was disappointed. To me and to many of us foodies plate and foot presentation makes a big impact on the customer. But that too I was cat fished on. The music was good tho. Our first time at this restaurant and we were delighted. Seated immediately and received immediate attention. Recommend the Baja fish tacos and mixed ceviche. The portions were generous. The ceviche was fresh and delicious; couldn't stop eating it. Served with tostadas and enough to share and some to take home. Background music was too loud, otherwise 5 stars. Take a trip to the Mexican coast and try Mariscos KC. read more

As someone who loves seafood and especially southern boils, i was surprised to see this place open not too far from me. I decided to give it a shot a couple weeks ago, and to say the least this is best place in town to get southern boils! I have already been 5 times in the last 2 weeks. We also got the reel catch which included a lobster tail, a snow crab cluster, 1lb of clams, and 1 lb of shrimp with garlic butter. We wanted the head on but our waiter heard wrong and we got head off which costed a bit more. This one was a bit better than the crawfish since the clams were good. We also ordered the Cajun shrimp Alfredo and that was decent. The waiter was friendly but I don't know if I'll ever comeback here. I was just disappointed and dissatisfied.
