My mom loves it here. She loves spicy mariscos and so do I. When I was visiting Chicago we came here for Mother's Day and it's nice and big in here, can host large parties. The room we were in had a karaoke stage it was fun. The food was delish but be aware that it does take time to prepare. Prices seemed fair for the amount of food provided. read more

The food is pretty good and the portions are a good size. The service is great! And the music is lit! You have the try the quesbrillas ironically, I know it's a marisco spot but they are good! And the michelada ni se diga. read more

Honestly, these past weekend my husband and I decided to take my father to eat locally. They sat us in the other side of the restaurant, which had no heat . (Below temperature outside) It was impossible to enjoy your food while wearing your coat. I also believe it's not best practice to add gratuity on the bill and call it " servicio de mesa" and still have the audacity to ask for additional tips. They don't inform you that the tip is added on before hand. Management didn't even offer any type of discount or apologies for the fact there was no heat! Won't be going back! read more

It's not the best Mariscos but definitely a fun and entertaining restaurant! I would say that this is the restaurant for drinks!! Their drinks are HUGE so come with a group! I appreciate that if you would like Virgin cocktails/mocktails they have those options as well! They also had live entertainment when we went on a Friday night which was fun! The servers were attentive and friendly!! It's a pretty big restaurant with different areas and a good place for all ages as well! read more

See, this is why I always say to try to go to an establishment at least 2 times so that you get the full effect. Haven't been here in a few years but now I returned and am happy to say that I can gladly give them a 4 star. The food was really on point and the serving portions are really adequate for 2. You know, if you feel like sharing your plate with another, that is fine. The shrimp cocktail always has to be on point in order for me to love a place. Freshness and taste is big, and I did get all that here. The portion was actually giant and this was the small. You can taste all of the seafood in the mix and the shrimp was very clean and fresh. I kind of felt I was in a resort and that's how fresh it was. The actual restaurant is nicely done and has a great theme. Although I am not one for musicos (bands playing) I didn't mind it so much as the gentleman would walk around and for a donation they will play a song for your loved ones. I like that they didn't push it too far and were respectful when some patrons said no. Lets get back to the food. I will say that my partner having an actual fish dinner was nice, I am not one for fried fish, but his was very well seasoned and done right. It helped that the beer also was super cold (you know to wash it all down with). What a nice spot to just chill out and talk. And make sure you tip your servers as they have a lot going on here and seemed short staffed this day, but that didn't matter as they were on their game! BRAVO! read more

Lovveeeee, food and service is great. I drove about an hour to get here but it was a great experience. I would come back again, and I will because the food is worth the drive. read more

I can't brag about this place enough , when someone comes to town this is where I take them. The foood is so good and never a miss for me. The servers are always nice and accommodating. I believe on weekend or certain days you can catch a drag show or live music. Drinks are pretty good not really strong but hey the food tops it all . My go to dishes are the fried snapper , and the longostinos Nayarit is my FAVVVVVV. . The garlic sauce and extra Nayarit sauce is a must !! read more

This place has authentic Mexican food so please keep that in mind if you not Mexican! So, don't expect to see refried beans, fresh salsa and chips, rice! It's not that kinda restaurant. If you want that, don't waste your time coming here! However, the drinks are great!!!! read more

I would give zero if I could. We were given ceviche that tasted like old fishy smelling fish hidden behind lime. The advertised sushi and did not have any until later, but sushi made with old fish does not sound right. They did not have beers listed on list even though I asked for a domestic one. The calamari served was two different batches of food, one fresher and crispy, one old and rubbery. 56 dollars for two appetizers and two beers. The food was almost inedible. Paid quickly and left with out really eating all the food. I will never go back. The shrimp empanadas were ok and edible. read more

Amazing!!!! This place was listed on Chicagosbucketlist IG page and let's just say it did not disappoint. The insanely large drinks are what peaked our interest but the seafood boil bags are what had our attention. The snapper it was the largest snapper I have seen outside the Caribbean. Everything taste amazing and was so fresh and not to mention it wasn't expensive at all! Our bartender/server Irmd was truly great and made some bomb drinks. We HIGHLY recommend and will be returning soon. read more

I go here with my family sometimes, it has a small interior and no too much walking room but the food makes up for it. I had fish tacos and wasn't expecting much but the sauce that came with it really made the tacos pop. Service was nice and would recommend it for any time of day. read more

Went to this place to celebrate my cousins birthday and it was such a great time. The ambiance is super chill, the lighting looks nice, they play regional Mexican music. The food was also really good but it was a bit pricey which was expected for a mariscos place. We all got different things and they were all delicious. We got shrimp empanadas, molcajete ranchero, arroz, catre caliente and arrachera. We also got 4 giant mimosas, 2 round of shots, and 2 virgin drinks. We ended up getting charged for one of the glasses because it was accidentally broken, but we were okay with that. The servers were all super nice and attentive. I definitely want to come back to try more of their food and drinks. The also have a small parking lot in the front and more parking on the rear side. read more

Service was horrible! I got a warm ass margarita to start my venture... I asked for water maybe 3 times.. got it once the food was served .. horrible service! El Puerto is one of my favorite places to eat. Pulpo asada and oysters preperada are a must in my opinion. Ceviche never disappoints. My only complaint is I don't like the constant loud music. read more

The food was good but the sushi gave made me feel like I wanna vomit but the other food was wasn't so bad and when I ordered a horchata it was expired and tasted awful and the cucumbers where super dry and tasted like nothing but the service was good but overall it's not that good read more

I really wanted to LOVE this place. Drinks are good and aguachiles were ok! Fish ceviche that's served as a welcome appetizer is good. We ordered a bag boil and it was horrible the shrimp seems like they cook it with dry shrimp and not fresh. Someone at my table ordered a carne asada plate and the meat was dry and hard it was so bad we sent it back 2nd plate was edible. 2nd time there and it disappointed me so much. Bill was 174 plus tip. It was 3 adults and 2 children. 200.00 on a regular Sunday diner and I was not happy with my meal. read more

This was my second time coming here. The first time was for the drag show. Everything was great. The service and the food were great. Now calling in to pick up was horrible. The first time no one answered. It happens. The second time we couldn't hear each other no big deal. I start to order and she cuts me off and she like no no no. I'm like what do you mean no? She like we don't have tacos. I'm like lady this is a seafood place I don't want tacos. Then she said in Spanish I don't understand I'm going to hang up. And before I could even try to respond back in Spanish she hung up on me. I called back got someone who answered in English. I thought that it was very unprofessional and rude for her just to hang up. I understand she doesn't understand English but come on all she had to do was hand the phone over to someone who did. I'm sticking to palapa or Isla Maria. Rant over. read more

I came here because a friend recommended it and it did not disappoint!! Hidden gem and worth the drive! Amazing food , great presentation qand best of all great service which honestly is hard to come by! The drinks are yummy and every alcoholic drink on menu looked amazing! Instead of chips and salsa you get tostadas or crackers with a seafood mix as a appetizer to start off with. We also got oysters which had a magical sauce to it that I almost didn't try till the waitress suggested to use it. A light oil mix. We also had a seafood platter and a big tower of margarita! We left wanting to come back to try other dishes but I will admit I want the oysters again! Also would like to try other alcoholic beverages! Must go! read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. me and my husband waited 20 minutes at a table with no waitress or waiter came up to our table to give us at least water. The staff was standing around talking and laughing with each other. We waited 5 more minutes and a couple we're sat before we left and waiter went up to them right away. Manager seemed like she didn't care when my husband went up to tell her. People pay a lot of money when it comes to sea food this place is not worth it. read more
