It was great. Clean. Excellent service. I started out with chips and puréed habanero salsa that was a mild spiced salsa. They also brought a tomato sea food flavor broth that had a small amount of onion and carrot. Then I had mixed fajitas with corn tortillas. Chicken, beef and shrimp cooked in onion and bell peppers. Fun time with my sister-in-law! The shrimp in a garlic, red sauce or camarines al moja de ajo was good, just a bit too much salt. I added pepper and enjoyed my meal. Sergio was a very helpful and friendly waiter. This dish came with rice and a small salad. Both were good! My sister-in-law had camarones el culichi. I had a bite, and the green sauce and cheese tasted good, too. The atmosphere was fun and inviting! It's a big place! A set up for a band and/or karaoke is ready! Given when I arrived there was only one customer I thought I'd get seated pretty quickly. I hate to wait a while to be seated as the manager and the waitress were at the bar watching a soccer game. When she noticed me, she sat me down and took a while to give me a menu. She was very nice but the service was slow. I ordered the guero roll and it was not worth the price. It was very bland and overstuffed with rice. They will charge you for water, just a heads up. read more

Awesome place to hang out have a few drinks, not really a great place to eat. Sushi is mediocre and that's being nice. Rice has no flavor at all. The style of shrimp cocktail is not to my liking very watery tons of chopped cucumber. When the Mexican Band is there it's gets LOUD, you can't really enjoy the food or the band. Service was terrible the first time I stopped by. Got sat down then moved by our waiter because that was for people who bought a liquor bottle only. While on business in the McAllen area a friend recommended. Not too keen on seafood but this place was great. I enjoyed the Camarónes al Chef as well as the Ceviche de Camarón. Great ambiance if you like relaxed Mexican pop, classic romantic, Tex-mex, cumbia, norteño, and banda genres. Unfortunately, I had to order my tequila twice and both times was wrong. I ordered the seafood tower and while the the ceviche part of it was amazing and you can taste the freshness, the cooked octopus and shrimp were over over done and half the dish was untouched. I picked through the ceviche parts only. The freshness of the avocados is impecable. I wish the dish could blend better as the sauce used does not bind the flavors together and the contrast of cooked with raw is not executed properly. If you are planning on having dinner with drinks, show up early and be patient on the weekend. Had never been to this restaurant and wanted to try something new. Upon arrival the waitress took a while to take our drink order then our food order. The food took about 30mins to get to our table. My husband was able to see into the kitchen and saw that my plate was ready. The waitress brought two plates out and then the other 3 plates after 10 mins and that's because we have to ask her if our food was ready. The waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything else. She would pass by our table and not acknowledge us. We had to Keep asking other waiters to get our waitress. Place is run down. Food was good but couldn't enjoy with the gnats that were flying around our area. Then to make it worse during our meal we suddenly had roaches climbing around the wall and table. Manager was told of the situation and all she did was tell the server to wipe off table. She never came to us to apologize. She just sat ur ass down and continued eating at the next booth from where we were sitting. They didn't even close the section to fully clean like sweep or wipe down properly yet an employee sat at our area and ate! Manager didn't even wash her hands after eating but yet was touching around the bar and kiosk. Even the drinks are on point and inexpensive for the quality of said cocktails. The variety available is sure to please most, if not all, patrons that walk through the door. And please, if you have something bad to say about this place based off one item, make sure to go back and give it a second shot. This place was bad from the very moment we entered the door. Yesterday I went there with my girlfriend and a bunch of her friends to celebrate her 24th birthday. She had made a reservation days prior and apparently they didn't have the reservation for us because a Banda was playing that night. They told us we had to pay 20$ just to be seated when we had a reservation. It took like 15 minutes just for them to decide to seat us with no charge. when we were served our food one of our friends found a dead fly in her food. It killed everyone's appetite. We told management about it and they still charged all of us for the food, which is bull crap. Overall the food and drinks were not that great either and are overpriced for what you get. This restaurant is massive. There are 2 "mariachis" playing at this place because the restaurant is huge. One mariachi is in the "front" section, an open bar concept bar is in the middle, and the other mariachi is at another section of tables is in the back. It's a great place for families because they can easily get tables together and accommodate the customers. The live band is great. They sing a variety of songs and even let some of the customers go up stage and sing. The food is good, but their plates only have shrimp. I only saw two plates that offered fish. If I could make a recommendation to management is to offer more variety of seafood plates and improve their food quality since I feel this might be a weakness. If the food was improved, the restaurant would also be known for their good food. However, the drinks are good and the atmosphere is great! read more

This is the worst restaurant in town! We were waiting for more than an hour and finally when the called us the place was very dirty! They clean the tables but they do not sweep the floor. The music was too loud and you can not even hear or talk to the person next to you. They take too long to bring you the food and it is not cheap at all for the crapy service they give you! Very good food in a beautiful place with great service. A complimentary cup of seafood broth to start, then I had the Culichi Roll, which was unlike anything I've ever had. A sushi roll with green rice (!), shrimp, something almost like cream cheese, avocado, carrots and green onion. But it works. My husband had a shrimp in spicy sauce with cheese that was good. If you want food that is top quality and to enjoy a conversation with your friends and family, go somewhere else. THE MUSIC IS CRAZY LOUD! (Sorry, I'm yelling because I can't hear anything anymore). Now on to the food, I was invited to try this place out and I got to sample all of their happy hour appetizers. Unfortunately, they just weren't very good. You would think fried shrimp on a stick would be great, but alas it was not to be. Their poorly named "cucaracha" shrimp had a very tasty sauce but was so over-cooked that you could not peel them they just tore to pieces. They had sushi covered in melted cheese (weird), which since it tasted like melted cheese was alright. Cane here after it was recommended. The location is nice and clean, old school Mexico with modern touches. First sign I wasnt going to be happy was when I asked the waiter for sugar for my unsweet tea, "let me go to the back to see if we have any" hmm The menu itself is pretty simple with abig emphasis on shrimp, only 3 offerings for variations on fried fish. My wife doesn't like fish so the only options for her were beef or chicken fajitas. I ended up getting the fried huachinanga and my wife choose the chicken fajitas. My fish was, well, fried not much to it, it tasted ok but for a.$20 plate I expected a bit more than some old lettuce, aka a salad, and some poorly seasoned white rice and the fish. My wife's plate was a total disappointment. The chicken appears to have come from a frozen badge and was heated on a microwave. For the chicken ti be fajitas you would expect some seasoning and some grill marks, it was actually pretty tasteless and almost looked uncooked. The waiter was polite enough but anytime we wanted something we had to try to call him over from either the register or the bat where he was involved in various conversations. Overall I don't think I'll be back since there have to be better marisco restraints here in town. read more
