This place has the best seafood chef in town. Tastiest light fresh/mexicali infusion dishes I've ever had, the right balance of spices and a twist of citrus. Everything has the right texture and crunch, salsa's are you're to mix in they have an excellent selection of their own unique creations. The service is most excellent and attentive and the ambiance is laidback like being in a coastal town in Mexicali enjoying a cool breez. They have a great selection of cold beers too.

I recommend the, San Manuel and petrolero tacos! My favorites! If you go on a Wednesday or Tuesday you get 2 of one of those for $13. Also try the Primo taco! Service is friendly, fast, and fantastic! Ms. Edna always makes sure by stopping by to ask.

Food is really fresh and really tasty. The lobster sandwiches are bomb! The tostadas are good as well. Good options for tacos.

Food: The seafood was incredibly fresh, seasoned perfectly, and packed with bold flavor. Every bite tasted like it was prepared with care. The sauces were rich without overpowering the natural flavor of the seafood, and the portions were generous. You definitely leave satisfied. Pro tip: I highly recommend ordering bottled water with your meal -- it pairs perfectly with the seasoning and keeps everything balanced while you enjoy the full flavor experience. Service: Ruby was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server checked on us consistently without being intrusive, and everything came out quickly and hot. Great customer service. Thanks Ruby! Ambiance: The atmosphere is lively, clean, and comfortable. It has that fun seafood-boil energy while still being relaxed enough to enjoy good conversation. It's a great spot for family dinners, friends' night out, or even a casual date night. Overall, Krab Kings delivers on flavor, service, and vibe. We'll definitely be back!

I am familiar with boils and I like the idea of ordering some but once I saw the menu my eyes went straight for the fried oyster poboy, hubby went for the one with shrimp. Oyster Poboy was pretty good! The bread was a bit too toasted and it was a bit hard to chew but the oysters were really good. Fries didn't disappoint. The table tried to order different things but they were out of a lot of things, not even a simple shrimp cocktail could be served. They offer one of my favorites, limenade with mineral water (topochico) but couldn't get it, they were out of mineral water too. Service was not bad but didn't seem to have a lot of interest in supplying something or offering substitutes for the out of stock items. My niece loves the place and she was happy with what she ordered, she had the boil tray. I saw other tables ordering individually bagged boils and they seem to be better served than the trays. The Cajun seasoning on the tray was good although they tend to abuse the garlic a little too much.

No te vas a arrepentir. Gracias.

A Hidden Gem for Mexican Seafood -- Don't Sleep on This Place!…read more As a traveler from California in town for a swim meet, I was on the hunt for good Mexican seafood and stumbled upon La Costa Grill. Based on the reviews, I had decent expectations -- but this place blew them out of the water. The ratings honestly don't do it justice. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was warm and genuine. We were greeted by the hostess and seated right away, even during the lunch rush. Then came a wonderful surprise: our server brought out a mini skillet of the most incredible black refried beans for dipping, alongside four salsas ranging from mild to hot, all served with tostadas -- compliments of the house. Back in California, you're lucky to get one salsa, let alone refried beans as a free starter. It immediately set the tone for the meal. Our server was knowledgeable and genuinely helpful with recommendations. We ended up sharing a lunch portion of paella, an octopus taco, and a fish ceviche tostada -- and every single dish delivered. The octopus taco was a standout; served over a layer of refried beans, it was a flavor combination I didn't know I needed. The ceviche tostada was fresh and bright, and the paella was satisfying and well-seasoned. I also have to give our server extra credit for her transparency -- she mentioned upfront that the paella leans heavier on rice than seafood. That kind of honesty is rare and really appreciated. We ordered it anyway, and we were glad we did. If you're visiting McAllen and want authentic, flavorful Mexican seafood with outstanding service and hospitality, La Costa Grill needs to be on your list. I'll absolutely be returning before I head back home.
