First and foremost, 15 calls were made to the restaurant to place an order to go, and no answer from anyone. Once at the restaurant, I asked the person at the front why they weren't answering and she said the phones were not working. However, the phone was ringing. Once the order was placed, she did tell me it would take anywhere between 40-50 min., which was fine. Approaching the hour, I went up to counter and asked how much longer. The young lady rolled her eyes and asked for my name. I receive my order and I'm missing multiple items, and she laughed it off. I've always been a fan of this restaurant and have never had such bad service. I'm understanding of situations and can see when a place is short handed. I was first introduced to the wonderful food in this place by a good friend and former client who brought a huge order of fish to my law office. Ever since then I've been in love with this place and always try and stop by when I go by the San Juan Shrine. Even after it has been transported from San Juan to McAllen, the food retains its delicious flavor and you can just imagine what it is like fresh at the restaurant. Try the chicharron de pescado! You'll love the crispy fillets and the fresh tortillas. They have good salsa verde to go along with it, or a decent tartar sauce if that is your garnish of choice. Their phone kept going to voicemail so we had to order through GrubHub for pick up. We ordered at 5:30 and the app said it'll be ready for pick up between 6:25 and 6:35. We finally received our food at around 7:20 (we arrived at 6:20) we waited for an hour. The whole time we were there we didn't hear the phone ring once. They made calls to tell people their food was ready but they never answered the phone. We even called their number 30 minutes into our wait and didn't hear a ring. Not only was the wait long but the food was cold. It only took 5 minutes to get home and nothing was warm. It would've been nice if they gave us our food when it was ready and not waited for it to cool down. Food is good but if you're ordering to pick it up don't get anything you'd expect to be warm. read more

This place is your typical Mexican seafood place located in a VERY Mexican area of town. The food is yummy, it's priced right, and the service, for me, has always been friendly. I usually go with a big group of in-laws and we get the seafood platter. It's huge and feeds a group. A nice option for Mexican seafood in the Valley. read more

So, I really wasn't impressed by the food, Service, or managerial customer service. On top of that the Soup Sucked . No flavor at all, and the crawfish was rubbery and nasty. Oh and after the server messed up my order and and delivered my main dish about 15 minutes before my appetizer. I still had to pay for a canceled appetizer. I cannot emphasize enough to people that I'm allergic to celery. I tell the waitress that am allergic and she even suggested dishes without it. Guess what the white rice with vegetables had celery.
