What great place to eat. This a old style restaurant. It's a lil small and parking is limited. But the food is very good. I had barbacoa plate which was very delicious. My wifey had buffet that had barbacoa included which was a great deal. 9.99 and kids buffet was 5.99.. Barbacoa was very soft and yummy with hardly any fat to it. We came after church and it was packed. But we still found a table... I came off the recommendation of my fellow yelpers (diana). Great info. I really like this spot and will come again to try different items off there menu. Oh ya they have breakfast all day.

Love this place! Authentic Mexican food! Everything they make is home-made, delicious & a lot of it reminds me of my Grandma's cooking (especially the mole & nopales). They have breakfast & lunch buffet daily including the weekend but, you can order from the menu. They also make capirotada & arroz con leche which I don't know of any other places that make this regularly. I don't eat dessert but, I know these are definitely favorite Mexican classics. My pictures don't do the food justice but, you can visit their FB page for more & it'll have your mouth watering. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! The only downside I would say is the location & parking.

Delicious food, clean atmosphere, friendly staff and cute decorations!

The service is great here. Servers are very attentive. You can order food off the menu or if you there for lunch they do have a buffet.

Very tasty. They stop serving the buffet at 2:30 so head there early. $10.99 a person and very worth it.

I've tasted several plates...the menudo (my fave!), barbacoa, enchiladas, carne guisada....all have been tasty and you always get the "just like my mother made it" taste. They always start you off with chips and salsa...the chips have never been stale and the salsa is usually warm and tastes fresh. The corn and flour tortillas appear to be freshly made which is how they should always be made at any respectable Mexican restaurant. I won't give it the full 5 stars because the food is good...but there's a few places out there with say, better chilaquiles or menudo. But it's still a good place to take your family on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy a nice meal...

This is a great place to have some real homemade corn tortillas! That was my highlight of this…read morerestaurant. Food was also great, don't get me wrong. This place is a very authentic taste of what Mexican cuisine should be like. We came in for a quick lunch during our break and had two of their lunch specials. They had the Pachucos and the Caldo Tlalpeño on sale for lunch. I believe the pachucos were $5.99 and the Caldo Tlalpeño was $6.49. Both had good taste. The portion of the Caldo was good but the pachucos were a bit of a small portion size. Good thing my wife chose those and not me.....quite frankly I wouldn't have had enough with 3 pachucos, rice and salad. Other than that the place is clean, tasty and fair in price. Come give it a try, you'll be well satisfied.

Guadalajara Express - Birria tacos

Guadalajara Express is a pleasant surprise and something unique in Mexican cuisine…read more As there is limited signage, and the establishment is small (cozy), it is easy to miss if you're not alert. It's located just west of Raul Longoria in a strip mall, on the south side of Nolana Loop, next to Magnolia Events. To get into the parking you need to approach it from the west (as if you're coming from the expressway I-69-C), because dividers in the road do not allow a left turn if you're coming from the east. But it is well worth the visit! Guadalajara Express specializes in regional Mexican food from the Guadalajara, Jalisco area. I spent my teen years living in Guadalajara so when I heard about them it got my attention! I love the regional cuisine from Guadalajara and there are several things on their menu you cannot find anywhere else in the Valley. Yet I have often been sorely disappointed with Mexican restaurants as most here "americanize" their food. I am thrilled to say that my worries were needless. Guadalajara Express has authentic regional jaliciense food and do it well. I have been twice. The first time I ordered the "carne en su jugo" and the second time I had the torta ahogada. Both were wonderful! I was especially impressed since I knew it takes a special kind of birote (bread) to make the torta ahogada; the usual "bolillo" does not work. The birote is denser so it won't fall apart when they cover it with salsa. The owners / operators are from Guadalajara (once I tasted their food I could have guessed that). They found a bakery that special bakes the birote for their torta ahogadas. The torta ahogada has a dense, toasted birote, filled with carnitas, then covered with a sauce. Back in the 1970's they used to dunk the torta into the salsa, but nowadays it is ladled on. They ladle on a mild salsa, but provide a cruse filled with super hot salsa made with chile de arbol, use with caution, but it IS authentic! The ambience and decor is beautiful, lots of traditional Mexican "artesanias" many made in Tlaquepaque or Tonala, from the Guadalajara metropolitan area. It is a little cluttered, but pleasant. Both times I went it was very clean, service was exceptional, the food was heavenly. Prices seem a tad high, but considering you won't find their specialty offerings anywhere else, I thought it reasonable. I really enjoyed it and think you will too.
