First time spur of the moment decision. On our way home from the Citadel Outlets. Craving seafood and found this place on Yelp. Had great reviews. Very busy and people waiting to be seated. Sat in the bar area and served immediately. Our server was amazing. Great service and conversation. Very welcoming and informative. Made some great recommendations. They welcome you with tostadas and salsa. I knew it was going to be a great night. Tostadas were so crunchy and salsa was delicious. Ambiance is fun and festive. Music was good. The manager came to our table to thank us for coming and gave us a card for a free appetizer on our next visit. OMG!!! What a great manager! That's the way to get customers to return and feel so special. The best people work here. Food and service AMAZING!!!

This location does not have parking so look for parking on the street or what other customers did such as myself was parking in the parking lot right next to it at the plaza where Del taco is. When we arrived, the host told us it was gonna be a 30 minute wait at around 7:30 PM on Friday night so she gave us the option to sit at the bar so we did. Right off the bat they serve you chips and salsa, but the chips are tostadas and the salsa was pretty spicy. For an appetizer, we got an order of guacamole which came out to $16.99, which is extremely ridiculous for the price didn't know till afterwards since it didn't have a price on the menu. For the entrée we ordered the Molcajete which also didn't come with a price on the menu, which came out to about to $55 which came with a nice big bone marrow, Asada cooked rare even though we asked for medium, pieces of chicken, three pieces of shrimp wrapped in bacon, nopales, block of cheese, green onions, half an avocado. It also included a side of rice and beans in one order of tortillas we wanted another order of tortillas which came out to an additional $2.99 Overall, the food was flavorful, but the prices were some of these things are ridiculous specifically for the guacamole and the up charge for extra tortillas. The ambiance is nice and modern. They have mostly outdoor seating which looked pretty cozy. Our server was great too and the other staff that attended to us were great as well. If you wanna come somewhere with cool vibes this is the place for you but honestly, I've been to better hole in the walls that offer the same items for fair prices. I would come back to try their other seafood options

Nice restaurant, Friendly Staff, Delicious food!!! The place has a cool vibe, with beach resort style furniture. Came for lunch with a coworker, and we both enjoyed our selections. We had the Tostada Rebelde and the Shrimp tacos. The Nemo drink is a little pricey for what you get but still taste good. Our server Alondra was kind and attentive and the manager Sid was friendly as well and checked on us. Will definitely be back to try out more of the options on the menu.

In the mood for light seafood dinner, thankfully, we got here just in time before it got crazy busy. Seafood tostadas and strawberry margarita were perfect and hit the spot! This is one of our favorite seafood restaurants, which we will always come back to, because the customer service and food are consistent and on point, every time we come!

Mariscos Choix was a good experience overall. The food was flavorful, and just about everything we tried hit the spot. We started with the Aguachile, which had a great balance of lemon and spice, very refreshing and well seasoned. I also ordered the Tacos Sinaloenses, which were simple but good. My favorite taco was the Taco de Mar y Tierra, which really stood out in flavor. The restaurant is pretty big with music playing, giving it a lively vibe. The host and waitstaff were very friendly and welcoming. Parking can be a bit tough, if you can't find street parking nearby, you'll need to park across the street in the shopping center near Del Taco. Overall, a solid spot and a fun atmosphere.

A great birthday celebration I had the fried fish I loved it. My friend had the great idea of asking for gloves! That really made my meal so pleasant nothing worse than fingering a fish. I'll be doing that every time we eat fish now my friends loved the octopus tacos. The fajitas were delicious. There was like eight of us and we were able to all share one order of the churros we had a great time. The service was amazing. Five stars #ValleyDowneyCrewGoVentures.

Finally made it out to this place for a late lunch. Wanting a cold and refreshing meal, mostly ceviche and agua chile type food. No wait for an inside table , multiple outdoor tables but it was still really hot despite fans and open air space. Quick service by waitress, she made sure to ask if it was our first time too; manager came to check on our experience at the end of the meal and made sure to invite us back with a coupon for a complementary agua chile next time. Tried a variety of food: Taco de Marlin and taco mar y tierra (grilled beef and shrimps) - both delicious Agua chile negro is a huge serving of raw peeled and split shrimp over slice cucumbers in a dark marinade that seems soy sauce or Worcestershire based. Very delicious and fresh. I got a camaron ceviche tostada: mixed raw shrimp and cooked shrimp plus lots of onions, crunchy cucumbers in a citrus mix. Complementary whole crisp corn tortillas and salsa, They have a huge size for lemonades and other agua frescas. Live music on evenings.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and lucked out with live music. We were a group of five and expected a long wait, but were seated in about 30 minutes. There's a bar area where you can grab a drink while you wait, which helps. We started with the chicharrones de pescado, crispy and a 10/10 with the dipping sauce. The shrimp empanadas were okay. I ordered the tacos de pulpo zarandeados and loved them, the avocado really brought everything together. My cousin had the camarones al mojo de ajo with rice and beans and said they had a nice spicy kick. Modern space, fun crowd, and people singing along to the live music, it was definitely a vibe. The seating area by the live music is very tight but the atmosphere made up for it. Overall the service was great.

Came in for a late dinner with my friend Ana. She ordered the fajitas mixtas and I ordered the 7 mares. We shared an order of the queso empanadas. The 7 mares was just OK. I don't know what kind of fish they use but it was probably marlin. Not the 7 mares I am used to. Seemed kind of skimpy. The fajitas were asked for medium well and got them medium rare. Empanadas were ok this time around. Nothing special. It was busy for a Friday night. That was expected. The live music was going at what seemed like a privada out back. The service was ok this time. Tried this place out on a Sunday night after seeing all of the reviews on yelp. The ambience was very loud as they had live Banda music, so I couldn't hear conversation with my friend. Our servers name was Andre, he was very friendly and chatty and checked on us a few times and always made sure our water cup was full. We got a Paloma and a lime margarita, the Paloma came out warm after waiting 20 minutes for it. The lime margarita was fake tasting. So I definitely don't recommend the alcoholic beverages here. We ordered two shrimp and steak tacos, and the all seafood tostada. Food was very good. The bill was $83 for two drinks and two entrées. Definitely plan to spend money if you come here. The food was the reason for the four star review because the alcohol was not good.

Nice place, we sat in the front patio, the music wasn't so loud, we actually could have a conversation and the windows were kinda open to get the breeze in. The food was good, although it came in different times, maybe because we had a big group. my fried fish was great. Andre our server was so nice and came by quite often to make sure we were ok. Would definitely come back here, I had not been here since before the remodel.

My first time here. This place was recommended by my bro who has been wanting to try it out. This place did not disappoint. The food is delicious! The drinks are delicious! Fish tacos were excellent. Ceviche is tasty. Shrimp appetizer was full of flavor. I get the feeling that you can order whatever you want and not go wrong with the flavor and quality of the seafood. The service was great! 5 star for aesthetics and that's it. Service was mediocre and food was pretty, but overly salted and overpriced. Alacart tacos for 6 dollars each was way too expensive and we paid 25 dollars for 3 octopus tacos. Ordered aguachiles and campechana along with fajitas. Campechana did not look like the picture on the menu he and EVERYTHING was overly salted and tasted like we were just eating salt licks. Come back if you're a shallow wildebeest that just wants pretty social media postings and overpriced, overly salted finger food. We left home with high blood pressure and a 400 dollar tab. Won't be back. Restaurant is pretty though. read more

A very lively atmosphere to dine in, there was a wait for a table but open seating at the bar. They had a band playing and the mood was very welcoming from the start. The customer service was fast and amazing, they made sure we were taken care of. Also the manager talked to me afterward about the experience and welcome us back. The food was delicious. The Botana Camaron Con Pulpo has a kick to it, so I would probably ask for less sauce because I am weak on my spice tolerance. Other than that it was fresh and delicious. A family member wanted to go eat some good Mexican food with a margarita. I searched yelp for the area we were in and Mariscos Choix popped up. The restaurant is on the busy Firestone street with limited parking. You couldn't tell what it is until you get inside. It's a gorgeous spot hidden on the main corner. Seating and space gives me a mix of Latin/ Cuban vibes inside. We sat in small seating section that was next to a couch. The hand held menu is in Spanish, i tried to use my Spanish knowledge from Duolingo lol Eventually we asked for an English menu which they had available via qr code on the table. I ordered the fajitas mixtas which had steak, shrimp, and fish with bell peppers. It was so tasty. The rice and beans with healthy and light as well. My guest ordered the fried fish fillet with a salad and a side of rice and beans. The fish was delightfullll. It tastes like panko crusted tilapia maybe another fish. We could have ate a whole plate of just that fish. We ordered margaritas and they had good flavor. Unfortunately they were quite expensive for each one, so we savored them as dessert. read more

This place has really upgraded since I was last here. The decor is really nice, like you're in Tulum. The service was great! We got the ceviche mixto tostada, tacos de pulpo zarandeados, taco de pescado, taco de gobernador, and taco de mar y tierra. All the food was good but the mar y tierra was my least favorite. It was dry and a bit bland. There's also no parking for them, but most people seem to park at the parking lot near Del Taco. Good place for mariscos. read more

The aesthetics of the renovated restaurant are really nice! The restrooms were well maintained and clean. Menu variety is ample and lots to choose from. The tostada mixta was delicious and paired well with a delicious michelada. The tacos de pescado baja style were delicious! The chipotle sauce was spicy and the blue tortilla was soft and flavorful. The kids menu options limited as usual in these types of seafood restaurants. We tried the agua de piña which I wasn't a fan of. Don't expect a traditional agua de piña because it is far from that and it was truly disappointing. It tasted awfully sweet -- like a mix of pineapple juice/soda. Definitely not your traditional agua fresca! 1/10. We also tried the caldo de camarón and while the taste was okay, the smell was not. It had a very fishy odor. Yes, I understand it's seafood but no way it should have that fishy smell and slight taste. In addition, the cóctel de camarón and aguachiles were spot on. Overall, good music, great aesthetics, and good service. Not a fan of the caldos and agua fresca though. Maybe next visit will be different. read more

Great atmosphere, marichis on Sunday's during brunch time. This is our second 2nd time dinning here, and so far everything we have tried has been Amazingly good & tasty and fresh. Our top 3 are aguachile negro, tacos de pulpo, empanadas governador, highly recommend those appetizers. Today we tried, the molcajete, with NY steak, chicken, shrimp, bone marrow, chorizo, veggies. It is a good portion, shareable and the NY steak was cooked to perfection. Service has been great, both times we have been here, everyone is welcoming and attentive even when busy. Today our server was Karlen and another server whose name I didn't catch, but you ladies rock. We will be returning, this is our new favorite mariscos. They do accept cc, nearby street parking. Had an "early dinner" at this location on a Wednesday at 5pm. Ambiance was great! Very pathetically pleasing. The patio is beautiful and has heaters for colder days/evenings. The inside is just as beautiful and welcoming. Andre O. was our server and he was so patient and kind. His manners were top notch. The hospitality was great! He consistently checked on us and provided everything we needed. Felt like he was one of our friends. It made the experience much more pleasant because it's hard to find good service nowadays. I order the aguachiles plate (the green chile). Twas delicious! Spicy but not too spicy. Felt like just the right amount! Then I had the fish tacos (Baja style- fried) and they were so gooood. Fresh delicious taste. The food here taste authentic and delicious. It's not like one of those trendy gourmet Mexican spots where you pay a lot and get a lil for bad quality. It's the exact opposite. Laura was our server and I can say she deserved a raise checking on us every 15 mins making sure we are okay. Customer service is amazing!! Manager is also on the floor greeting guest and making sure you're welcomed!! For sure coming back the vibes here are amazing next time we sitting in the patio though! Let's start with the ambiance, the decor and how beautiful and inviting this place is. Walked in and automatically LOVED the look! Came here on a Tuesday on a late lunch time. Between 12-2. It was slow which I love. Came to celebrate my birthday and when I tell you it was a success I mean it!! Our waiter (DANIEL) was TOP TIER! We sat down at the bar and ordered drinks. He recommended one that was not on the menu and he killed it!! So delicious. We then ordered the empanadas which by the way we're our favorite. Also got the aguachiles, fish tacos and ceviche de tostada. We didn't like the tostada. But they took it back and we're amazing about it. To top it off they sang me happy birthday and got a ice cream Sunday and made my birthday AMAZING. I look forward to coming back Definitely for the food but most for our waiter DANIEL! Okay the food was great! We got the campechana and cóctel de camarón y pulpo. Both were delicious and flavorful. They were not stingy with the shrimp in both. The next dish was camarones a la diabla which were also well seasoned. The sauce it is in is full of flavor. The spice level depends on your tolerance it had a slight kick but for me it was like a 4 out of 10. So mild. The last plate we got was the mojara medium well. This allowed the meat to come right off when pulled off the fish. Flavor was great too. What made this visit even better was the quality of the service by our waiter. Andres was really friendly and charismatic. What I appreciated most was that he quickly adapted to our party and communicated in both English and Spanish. The rapport that he was able to build so quickly truly made this a great experience. He checked in consistently with out making us feel like he was hovering. Definitely 5 stars for service! I came in with a party of 4 and was told there was a waitlist to which I didn't mind. A few minutes after my wife asks if we can get some drinks at the bar and they said yes and let me tell you the Nemo was my wife's favorite and Mine was the borracho the presentation and taste is top tier!!! When we finally got the text our table was ready to our surprise Cindy was attending us today and let me tell you she is very genuine. she asked about our engagement and it honestly made us feel like she really cared like if we've been knowing her for years . My brother in law ordered two fish tacos and she asked if we had any peanut allergies (he does) she let us know that the salsa they put on the side contains nuts. What can I say , An overall 10/10 experience! Our server Melissa was adorable and full of personality plus. To start off she recommended some new items/dishes and her personal favorites from the menu and to say the least everything had us at a WOW!! To start we had Pata de Mula. When I heard pata de mula I was in a complete shock!! Pata de mula in Downey????? Not a lot of restaurant do but Mariscos choixs is definitely the best pata the mula in the whole county.. Next we had " Tacos de camarón baja y de Pescado baja" waitress personal favorite! So good that we had to get another round. We also had almejas, oysters prepared and natural ones so fresh and delicious. Last but not least Augachiles Negros The flavor, the taste, the spices! Accompanied with a House lemonade best combo. Definitely going to be coming back no doubt. Staff is so attentive... Melissa had us from the start with how she's speaks on the items and on the restaurant. Outstanding Dining Experience at Mariscos Choix! We had the pleasure of visiting Mariscos Choix a few months ago during our trip from Houston, and it exceeded all our expectations! Our experience was made even more remarkable by the incredible service provided by our waitress, Itzel. She was attentive, friendly, and had excellent recommendations for our meal. To start, we enjoyed the refreshing and flavorful Micheladas. They were the perfect way to kick off our dining experience. As for the main course, we opted for the Molcajete Mixto and the Aguachile, and we were blown away by the quality and taste of both dishes. Mariscos Choix left such a lasting impression on us that we can't wait to return. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mariscos Choix, and I have to highlight the exceptional service provided by Rosalinda. From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm, genuine smile that instantly made us feel welcome. Never a dull moment here. They upgraded the place and menu and every time I come here I have a great experience I went there with a few friends on a Saturday evening. Everything about this place is EXCELLENT! We got seated immediately after our whole party arrived and the service was great! The weather was warm so I was craving a Michelada and a Coctel de campechana(mixed seafood cocktail). Both of the items I ordered suited the occasion refreshingly, service was quick and staff is friendly and attentive, I did have a minor negative critique, I had a couple fries from my nieces left over dish and It was obvious they cook their fries in the same oil as they do their seafood, I personally didn't mind, but I know some folks that would definitely complain about it, so just a heads up folks. All in all we will definitely be going back since they have an extensive list of items on their menu wich look delicious! read more

We recently visited this restaurant after seeing an Instagram video that made the experience look amazing, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to our expectations. The food itself was okay, nothing terrible, and the prices felt higher than what the overall experience justified. One of the biggest disappointments was realizing that what we saw online didn't match what was actually offered when we visited. It seems that certain menu items or presentations highlighted in their social media are only available on weekends, something that wasn't clearly communicated. This made the experience fell a bit misleading and left us whishing we had known ahead of time. The ambiance of the restaurant itself was great, we loved the way the plants were laid out throughout the restaurant and the music was a hit. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience but we may not visit anytime soon. read more

Enjoyed our first time at Mariscos Choix. All staff, especially Andre our server made our celebration for a group of 16 one to remember. We were seated in a timely manner for our reservation at 6:15. Drinks were ordered and enjoyed by all. Andre made sure to ask about food allergies which was great as some of their salsas have nuts in them. My son has nut allergies. The food was great we ordered a variety Baja Fish Tacos, Marlin Fish Tacos, De Pulpo, Tostada de Ceviche, Tostada Mixta, Molcajete, Beef Fajitas, Shrimp and chicken nuggets for the kids and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Given we were a large group drinks and food came out in a very timely manner. After dinner, celebration desserts were brought out by the staff for my brother and parents who we were celebrating. Overall, a positive experience and would recommend a visit to Mariscos Choix. read more

We had such an amazing experience at Mariscos Choix, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Carlos. From the moment we sat down, Carlos was incredibly attentive and welcoming. He took the time to walk us through the menu, gave great recommendations, and made sure we understood all the delicious seafood options. When it came to ordering drinks, Carlos was so helpful in suggesting refreshing cocktails and micheladas that paired perfectly with our food. He checked on us regularly without ever being intrusive and made sure we always had everything we needed. Our food came out perfectly, and Carlos made the whole experience feel special and personal. Woowww!!!! This place keeps getting better and better. I've been coming for some time now, and today was honestly the best. I always get my (tacos mar y Tierra). Let me just tell you.... These juicy ass tacos are bomb! Tortilla is fried, the cheese is fried, shrimp and asada... mmmm La tostada (ceviche de camarón con jaiva) is my favorite. The reason I keep coming back. Don't forget to ask for Chile chiltepin ( you might die) jk. Anyway, this place is honestly the best. As a client of about 4 years, this place is the best. Oh but wait...... there is more..... Itzel Is the added reason I have come the past 3 Thursday's in a row. Please come and ask for her. Talk about a whole all welcoming. Ok so I been craving for a Botana choix that I saw a couple time on friends Snapchat. It looks super yummy avocado good presentation. So I went with hubb to take food to go. I order my Botana Choix. ERROR!! They give me 2 boxes, I open one it was only 3 slides of avocado and the other box was the Botana. Omg it was like one tostada serving. We paid almost $28dls which is ok for a Botana but serving was so poor. Flavor was delicious. have nothing to said about the kitchen really good. But never again I'll take botanas to go. They serve so poor portions. If you want a good Botana Mariscos for same price go to La Barca Grill and Cantina. read more

Was very surprised with the wait time which was none. Came here around 1pm on a Saturday and my family and I were seated right away. Have to mention that the food here is very delicious compared to other similar restaurants around the area. Micheladas are buy 1 and second half off! We had a mojara a la diabla ( super delicious ) and chicken fajitas. Our waiter was Guadalupe and she was very sweet and genuinely attentive. Amid the pandemic, things have changed every where and everyone one is trying their best to make things work. A five star review for great service provided by Guadalupe and for a delicious meal. read more

I had such a wonderful experience at Mariscos Choix The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely delicious -- everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We celebrated my step dad's birthday and they made it extra special. A special shoutout to our waitress, Rosalinda (aka Rosy) who made the evening even better. She was attentive , friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu She made great recommendations and made us feel genuinely welcome. I was really hoping for a great experience at this place, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The food was mostly mediocre. The Aguachile was alright, but nothing special. The "fresh guacamole made to order" looked more like an old spread -- definitely not what I was expecting. The Tacos Gobernador were fine, but it's disappointing that they charge extra for the chipotle sauce, which is usually included at other places. The chicken fajitas were also underwhelming, lacking the flavor and sizzle I was hoping for. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but I won't be rushing back. read more
