Our boat had been sitting in the yard for four years without being ran. Eric came over to our house and gave a quick diagnostic. The next day he came over, after work, and replaced the battery and nav light. When we got the boat in the water he found it was overheating. He took it back to his shop from our house and did the work. He rode around with us after it was fixed to make sure we were safe. I'm not sure other people would have put that much time and care into their work. He came out to the house numerous times and explained everything very well. I would highly recommend Eric for any type of boat work.

This is a pretty decent marina with facilities...pretty low-key, no frills and although no dock…read morespace, and we were in a 23' 3" fat Cat, nowhere was able to accommodate us at a dock, there were plenty of mooring balls and anchorage space! I think the view is nicer that way anyway! On the way dinghying up to the marina office, we found Brian living on Raggedy Ann who was an all around Mr Fix It guy who was willing to dive the boat and take a look at our engines later in the afternoon since we had to get towed in early that morning by TowBoatUS from 15 miles out (north) due to gobs of sea grass and crab traps eaten by our engines...(a whole 'nother story)... So, before all that could happen, we made our way up to the dinghy docks, which we stayed in the outers, easy access and tie off, because the inner dinghy docks were super tight and difficult to maneuver around in - even saw a couple of bumper boat incidents... I was amused, but that can get rather sticky when you're in that situation... The only sea life we saw here were a few brown little jellyfish. We made our way up to the office, only 2 people inside due to Covid, but let just one check in, no need for more. We were given 2 shower room card keys for use throughout our 24 hour stay and then we went on our way to lunch and run errands....there is no restaurant/food on the premises. I'd say that's one drawback. But Uber was easy - not the quickest to arrive, but once we returned, dinghy'd back and hit the Dockside Bar & Grill across the water for a drink, then back to our boat to wait for Brian to dive the engines... He showed up, cleaned all the stuff out and we were back in business! Later that afternoon, we grabbed our shower stuff and clothes, dinghy'd back up to the marina, got our showers....and me being the female - took a really long time! Although not the best facilities, so glad we had hot water and pressure... there are about 30 shower rooms and you might have them all potentially running at one time... hot and pressure necessary! The boys were waiting for me at the tiki hut/park area and then we dinghy'd back to our boat in time for sunset, cocktails and dinner. Was a lovely evening before taking off to our next destination.....the Bahamas!

My family and I were in Cudjoe Key a few weeks ago and were happy to find a boat rental…read moreestablishment that had a boat available on a two-day notice. The proprietor or employee, unsure which, was very friendly and worked quickly to get us underway. But, I think the negatives outweighed the few positives. First, the place (a small office on the backside of a multi-use building) was difficult to find. When I did find it, no one was there although I was arriving about 30 mins. prior to my agreed upon rental time. The boat came in about 15 mins late and the Poseidon employee worked very hard to clean the boat, drive down the street to fill gas cans in order to fuel up the boat, and then complete the fueling process. We departed about 40 mins after the rental start time. To his credit, he allowed me to come back as late as an hour after the agreed upon rental period. The boat was a typical rental. It showed its years and usage. It also did not have a working marine radio and the tiny anchor struggled to keep us in one place when we stopped to swim. Most frustrating was the return of the boat and the email notification that I owed $60 for fuel. There was no one at the rental office when we returned. Some older gentleman who presumably knew the owner helped me dock the boat. When I later received an email informing me that I owed $60 for a quarter tank of fuel, I wrote back to the owner explaining that I could not understand the use of about 12 gallons of fuel costing $60 ($5 a gallon). At the time, fuel from the Shell station where he went to purchase fuel prior to my trip was about $2.80 a gallon. He sent me a copy of the contract I signed with a note on the bottom advising that gas would cost $60 per quarter tank. I've never paid that much for gas after a boat rental. I was a bit ticked off. Decent place, but wouldn't give it my business again.
