So I gave them a call and I am so glad that the other place was booked up because this is by far the best charter I've ever been on. We snorkeled, had snacks, learned how to sail (a bit) and it was just amazing. My ten year old twins want me to book again tomorrow. Captain Scott and skipper Brody are outstanding. They made our day! Fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels and great sailing. What more can you ask for! Book with these guys! You won't regret it! Cannot beat the experience of the service. Don't go anywhere else! I'll be booking another tour, hopefully before we leave to return home, my husband had to miss it and after he heard about it from us, he wants to go :). Had an absolute blast on the marathon lady today for their morning charter from 8:30 am until 12:30…read morepm. Captain Craig and the two Jakes were amazing. They helped with baiting the hooks, unhooking the catches, cleaning the fish, and providing unparalleled entertainment. We couldn't have asked for a better day on the water, the fish were biting and the weather was absolutely perfect. The captain kept putting us right on the fish and we ended the trip with plenty to bring to a restaurant for a hook and cook dinner. I can't recommend this place enough, the price is right and the people running it and keeping it going are great. The captain even let us know when a pod of dolphins were nearby so we could enjoy seeing them! Such an unexpected and great bonus to the day! It is BYOB if you want, but onboard they do have some beverages and snacks for purchase (cash only on board), but we brought our own which worked out well. Tickets can be purchased with debit or credit cards, but cash on board is king for drinks/snacks, tips, and fish cleaning so make sure to bring some cash for your day on the water! If you're in the middle keys and want a great value for a fishing trip without a full charter, this is the best there is and totally worth it.

There is no party fishing boat that is better than the Marathon Lady, I know because I have tried them all. It's a family run business, and all of the crew always recognized me and my cousin. The Marathon Lady is the only Fishing boat that I recommend to everybody.

On a boat charter personally arranged by a lovely girl called Claire we had an incredible day at sea. We parked on a sand bar as deep as my knees. Aquablue Adventures brought the boat to Islamorada sandbar, the music and most importantly unlimited shots of Fireballs just in case u need a little warm up. The vibe is ... put a bathing suit, get in the water and relax as you will have arrived in Paradise. Oh and if you forget to pack a lunch bag not to worry - there is a floating food truck parked right there with burgers and hot dogs. The boat was spacious and clean which I appreciated. Mark and I…read morechartered a 30 foot bareboat but Gdub upgraded us for free to a beautiful 33 foot Hunter "Spirit wind". Mark and I are certified and experienced sailors but this was our first voyage alone as Captain and first mate. Gdub was always available, responsive, and helpful when we needed him. He helped us with everything from making our sailing plan to clearing seaweed from our prop and even offered some marriage counseling pro-bono ;) It was also our one year wedding anniversary and Spiritwind gave us an amazing experience. The boat was well equipped with we everything we needed, from spare lines to galley supplies. If you want to talk to Gdub about how your boat will be outfitted, give him a call. While he responds to emails promptly, you will get more information from a phone call. We suggest you visit the boat first then go provision (there are several grocery stores nearby). There were lots of leftovers on our boat already. Spend the night on the boat the night before you leave and have dinner at the fish market. The food is amazing.

This school is like no other! I had very little sailing experience and was so nervous to start but…read morecaptain GW helped push me outside my comfort zone and sail in ways I NEVER would have thought I could do. I spent a week under his training with my husband and we both left feeling ready to sail and bare boat charter with confidence. The problem solving experience and hands on training we received was second to none. It was a challenging course and we both studied really hard for the exam, but GW was so great at getting us prepared that we passed with very high marks. The experience was a great confidence booster in more ways than one. This was one of the most memorable and exciting weeks I have spent in a very long time and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from GW.

Our 'captain' and 'guide', Bethany, was really good at handling the boat, and all that went with it (including us)!! Maximum number of guests is six, today we were four, we all got along well. The kayaking around the little mangrove island was easy despite the moderate wind. Those easily frightened need not be. Bethany imparted a lot of interesting mangrove facts as we went as well as pointing out the different birds that occupy the island. Not really an island as it's all mangroves and no sand, dirt or rock to stand on. Snorkeling that day wasn't great. It had recently rained and the water was a bit murky but we did see a variety of sponges and a few fish. The sail back to port was relaxing, snacks were put out, pineapple and those chunky pretzel things, and for a bit, all was right in the world.
