On a boat charter personally arranged by a lovely girl called Claire we had an incredible day at sea. We parked on a sand bar as deep as my knees. Aquablue Adventures brought the boat to Islamorada sandbar, the music and most importantly unlimited shots of Fireballs just in case u need a little warm up. The vibe is ... put a bathing suit, get in the water and relax as you will have arrived in Paradise. Oh and if you forget to pack a lunch bag not to worry - there is a floating food truck parked right there with burgers and hot dogs. The boat was spacious and clean which I appreciated. We had were not sure what we wanted to do and Kendall found a way to make every one of our desires come true. We sailed, we snorkeled, we had an off the beaten path experience, we didn't see another tourist the entire time on the water, we had a sail boat picnic, wine and cheese sunset on the harbor, THE REAL KEY WEST TOUR of local spots, live music, back alley gems and characters. One anecdote that only demonstrates Kendall's attention to details and the experience was when he stopped the tour to have palm frond bird woven right in front of us in the middle of our tour. We not only had a great time, we made fast friends and we will most certainly use Kendall for all our future Key experiences. There is so much left to do and he knows all!!! Our 'captain' and 'guide', Bethany, was really good at handling the boat, and all that went with it (including us)!! Maximum number of guests is six, today we were four, we all got along well. The kayaking around the little mangrove island was easy despite the moderate wind. Those easily frightened need not be. Bethany imparted a lot of interesting mangrove facts as we went as well as pointing out the different birds that occupy the island. Not really an island as it's all mangroves and no sand, dirt or rock to stand on. Snorkeling that day wasn't great. It had recently rained and the water was a bit murky but we did see a variety of sponges and a few fish. The sail back to port was relaxing, snacks were put out, pineapple and those chunky pretzel things, and for a bit, all was right in the world.

We settled in and set off for the ride to Looe Coral reserve for snorkeling- 1st stop. We beat the crowds and secured the best tie off spot. We spent about an hour enjoying the below the surface life. We even swam with a sea turtle. The snorkeling was the best I've ever experienced, and I guess that's why Looe Key is one of the top ten worldwide snorkeling places listed in last month's issue of SCUBA. After capturing some kicking videos underwater with the GoPro, we climbed back aboard and headed out to the flats to check out a few sand bars. He picked a great spot, devoid of other fun seekers and after a beat we opted to head out for more touring. We went back into the mangroves and checked out the local sights. Cap'n Clint was so forthcoming with information and he is knowledgeable and so much fun! He has history here, and it shows. I hope to go again and I am definitely booking this for when my family comes to visit. Things spotted while boating: sea turtle diving, sting ray, some type of shark (No dolphins, . this time, but they're out there somewhere!) Things not spotted: other tours .
