Our house is reborn…read more We have a cedar shingle house that was looking significantly worn and the integrity of the siding was starting to fail. We were torn between restoring the shingle siding or ripping it off and fully replacing. We are SO glad that we chose to restore with Marin Wood. Paul and Romy were amazing to work with - true professionals and artisans. They restored our shingles to perfection while resealing interfaces, and the restaining is a serious upgrade to the look of our house. We feel like we were able to maintain the architectural integrity of our home - even improve it - while not sacrificing visually or structurally. And all of this for a fraction of what it would have cost (in contractor woes and money) to re-side the house. We look forward to continuing to work with Marin Wood. 10/10

We can't say enough good things about Marin Wood Restoration and Painting…read more From our very first contact through project completion, Paul and Romy have been friendly, professional, and always there when we had questions. Romy did the estimate and made recommendations as to the type of finish to use (stain vs solid stain vs paint) for our project. He also helped us pick out a great color. The workmen were fantastic - skilled at their jobs and very efficient. They treated our house like it was their own, down to washing window screens after they finished staining around the windows. Romy was out daily to check on their work, which we really appreciated. One section of the wall wasn't taking the stain as well as the rest of the house, so he had them do additional coats until it met with his approval. Our house looks better than it ever has in the 20+ years we've been in it. Marin Wood's prices may be a bit higher than the big companies in the area, but you're not going to get this kind of personalized service from them. We highly recommend them without reservation.

Jeff, the owner, met with us and explained the different types of floors and sent us searching his floor room of samples. We settled on a nice Hickory hardwood. Within a day, Jeff went to the house which was being renovated, measured and had a proposal for us. We placed our order and Jeff was to work in conjunction with painters and sheetrockers to try to complete our job prior to the move-in date. A few weeks into our house project, we were notified by Jeff that there were supply issues from the East Coast for our wood delivery. He made every attempt to rush the now delayed order while keeping us informed of the situation. When most of the wood was finally delivered, Jeff's people worked hard to finish the larger areas, to facilitate our movers. Within a few weeks, Jeff's crew (Marco & guys) was able to complete the job to our immense satisfaction. The detailed trim work was outstanding as well. At my request, Jeff had Marco return a month later to install a newly needed transition piece. Jeff and his crew were extremely efficient and friendly. Prices were very reasonable and the craftsmanship unequalled.

Our Stone Living sales contact was Allie and Victor in operations. If you've ever remodeled a kitchen or anything, nothing seems to move along as scheduled. We actually got out custom cabinets installed early and needed our countertop sooner than planned. Victor and his crew did the counter templates, Allie got the slab in early. We met at Stone Living with Robin, Allie and Victor to select the specific pieces of the slab for each area of the kitchen countertop. Delivery by Victors crew was seamless. Our beautiful Vadara - Bianco Molasa quartz countertop is gorgeous, the kitchen is beautiful, our friends and neighbors, I think, are envious, we love it! Thanks again to Allie, Victor and Stone Living.

I am a certified Project Manager and licensed Mechanical Engineer, so I know what good project execution looks like. MKC is the best residential contractor I have worked with in my 30 years of home ownership. MKC employs a process with heavy emphasis on planning the work up front followed by quality execution by the craftsmen. Scott (owner of MKC) honestly strives to land each project with the highest quality work done at a reasonable price. My project was mainly to remodel a kitchen and master bathroom. Additionally, we removed two walls (one load bearing), replaced 1/2 the house windows, addressed two different legacy structural issues, replaced fireplace, all interior doors, all baseboard and trim, all flooring and about a dozen other upgrades (add ceiling fans, add additional door, replace garage door header, toilet in 2nd bath, etc.). Basically, I received a new house. The work was completed in a little over 4 months as planned adding time for the new scope and structural issues. The cost was as expected. MKC costs were nearly exact to expected. Material costs were higher than planned due to our selection of materials vs assumed. The quality of the work was outstanding whether it was by MKC employees or subcontractors. I highly recommend the MKC team for a kitchen or major home remodel.
