Dave provided me with a fair quote and was able to fit my project into his busy schedule relatively quickly. He also put up with me waffling with about 10 different project options I asked him to quote before finally settling on one. Dave and his crew were punctual and completed the job on-time and on budget with absolutely no hassle. Dave and his crew did outstanding work. I am very happy with the outcome and my newly refreshed shower. I hired two other contractors to replace flooring and install a shower door during my renovations. Dave's work is the only work with which I have not had issues. I unfortunately went with a cheaper flooring option and installer rather than having Dave tile the floor. I now regret my decision. I should have hired him to retile both my shower and my floor. Lesson learned. I'm also having issues with the shower door I had installed by a different contractor: water is leaking from underneath the door. The fix is very simple, it just requires a small barrier be installed on the shower pan beneath the glass door. The contractor attempted to perform the fix once and somehow did not manage to get it right. That contractor has become unresponsive now that I told him water is still leaking and that I need it fixed asap. What a headache. In conclusion, if you don't want a headache and want a beautiful result then I would absolutely hire Dave. In fact I may ask him to come back and replace the flooring I just installed. Then I told her I was aiming for 1pm and I never got a response back. Even if I did arrive early, I wouldn't have been so upset had she been kind and asked me to wait. Plus there was no other customer in the store. She wasn't kind, she was rude. Her lunch arrived as I was leaving. She was clearly unprepared. He also gracefully handled many unexpected challenges such as manufacturer defects which required a large delayed re-shipment. And they do! Juan Navarro is a great problem-solver. That's one of the reasons I hired him rather than any of the other hardwood installers I interviewed. The others all had lots of experience and good reviews, but Juan immediately saw a solution to a door clearance issue that no one else had figured out. I also needed help designing an extra step into the sunken family room, and he was not only willing to take it on, but did an outstanding job. He was very good at helping me picture and decide about the various options (stain color, baseboards, trim around hearth, etc.). He kept me updated each day about the day's work and what would happen the next day. And they never made a mess! He clearly takes great pride in a job well done, every step of the way. Another contractor couldn't start until two weeks later. Alex made a site visit and was very personable. With the lead time, we chose Alex. Right when we chose him, he wanted to start that day! I said OK. That afternoon the demolition began. In two weeks he completed the job. He will work around your schedule. We had a family incident and needed to push back the work a day. We also had to wait a few days for the faucet to be delivered. The hours are up to you. We were OK with his team working into the late evening to get the job done because we were down a bathroom. Vitali and Alex work really really hard and long hours. There were some up sale items, but we picked which ones we wanted. Our vanity was in bad shape; so we updated the vanity, sink, backsplash and faucet. Alex quoted us a great price and offered to do tile flooring which would have made the bathroom even nicer, but we decided that the flooring would be fine. Maybe save that for the next remodel. Going through any type of remodel or home update is emotional and risky. We did a home remodel years back and that's when we learned you can really only choose two of the three: quality, cost, or speed. With Alex we were able to get close to all three. Obviously your home is very dear, and there are small little things that you can sweat over. Your home will never be perfect. Not a year goes by without some work that needs to be done to my home. Things get old and break down. There are many things that I would do over, but everyday I go into my newly updated bathroom and smile.
