Upon meeting Bill Powell, we ended our search for a company to install hardwood floors in our townhome. Bill was sincere, honest and enthusiastic about the work of 1-2-3 Floor Inc. He offered a number of quality flooring options, brought all to our home for consideration and promised first-rate service at each step along the journey to installation - and delivered! Our hardwood floors were meticulously installed, the two-men assigned to install our floors were genuinely nice guys, highly skilled and went "above and beyond" in ensuring that our floors were installed to perfection - every detail was completed with care. This week 123-Floor repaired 4 "holes" in my laminate floors - areas where laminate had been laid around large objects (counter peninsula, wet bar, built-in hutch) that were later torn out. They did a marvelous job from start to finish! The first challenge was that my laminate model had been discontinued, but Bill found some remaining product when he did the original estimate, and managed to secure it for me. The second challenge was in matching up old and new boards so slight color variations would be unnoticeable, and Pete did a wonderful job! I can't tell where the work was done at all. It looks as if the missing items never existed and the floor was laid continuously from day one! Finally, Pete investigated an area of spongy sub-floor and let me know about an issue of which I was previously unaware. Kudos to 123-Floor all the way around! I know just who I will call if I have flooring needs in the future. And besides, they have a pretty cool name, right? read more

123-Floor did our floor in June of 2015. We have an Eichler in San Rafael, CA and had some floor issues (think asbestos and cracked concrete...) After everything was cleared we decided on a great vinyl product. We are extremely happy with our choice and 123-floor did excellent work. It was a big job for us since we decided to do the entire house. The owner Bill was always present - from the initial contact, the estimate, during remodel and at completion - he was very knowledgeable, always approachable and came by several times. His crew that installed the flooring was super efficient, professional, clean and friendly (including to my 6 year old). We couldn't be happier and can highly recommend 123-Floor. read more

123-Floor stripped away seven coats of paint to reveal a beautiful hardwood floor in my 1895 Victorian. My gleaming new floor gets rave reviews and when I'm ready for carpet upstairs I'll call them again. read more

Competitive prices and excellent, reliable work. We have very old wood floors that had not been refinished in 30 years and we wondered how well they would turn out. Bill assured us that they would sand out just fine and spent time going over all of the finish options - we ended up choosing one coat of a light oil stain to deepend the grain slightly, then three coats of flat water-based poly finish. It turned out great and the work was done within the timeframe promised. I would not hesitate to use Bill and his team in the future and would recommend their work to any of my friends. read more

Refinished my hardwood floors and did a fantastic job. Very helpful in helping me pick the color and workmanship was just superb. Always arrived on time, took time to prep and protect the work area. Completed the work on time per our original schedule. Compared rates and found him very competitive and would highly recommend. He also was able to source sisal and stairway carpet and did a great job with the binding and install. Bill is a pleasure to work with. Nicki T. San Francisco read more

What a pleasure it was to have Bill Powell and his team install my new kitchen floor recently (10/2021)! I started investigating my alternatives for my kitchen in mid-2020 and Bill was available to answer questions and provide insight every step of the way. I decided on wood flooring to match as closely as possible the existing wood floors throughout the house. Bill helped me choose the right floor color and installation method to match what I already had. His team, Pete and Jose, were WONDERFUL: they arrived on time, got right to work and continued working hard throughout each day, removing 3 layers of vinyl floor in the process and putting in over 5,000 nails. They were careful to leave my kitchen tidy and clean at the end of each work day too! I couldn't have been happier with the entire process, from start to finish. I highly recommend Bill and 123-Floor. Oh and by the way, I'm a Realtor, so I see a lot of tradespeople. Bill is a standout for his knowledge and professionalism and I refer my clients to him all the time! read more

After a frustrating search for the right carpet provider I turned to Facebook for recommendations, and it turns out that the answer was on my wall the whole time. 123-Floor was referred to me by a mutual friend and I can't say enough great things about our experience. Innovative business model, great carpet selection that they bring to YOU, super professional customer service, industry knowledge, and flawless execution. Also...I solicited about 3 bids for the process and they by far were most competitive. Highly recommended. We love our new carpet...a gorgeous, soft wool berber...and will enjoy it for years to come. read more

Great experience with 123-Floors. I recently completed the renovation of a master bedroom and hired 123-Floors to replace carpet with pre-fab hardwood floors, and was delighted with the customer service and the final product. I first found 123-Floors right here on Yelp along with a few other flooring companies. I interviewed a few companies and selected 123-Floors based on the variety of materials to choose from, the sensible pricing and the service from Bill, the owner. The process was seamless. Once we selected the wood, Bill ordered it, then the wood arrived in the house and was her for 1 week to acclimate. Installation took a bit over a day. The first day the floor was installed and the second day, in a few hours, the trim and the final details were taken care of. The installers were accurate in their work, and most importantly for me, they left the room extremely clean. They even assisted me in moving some furniture out of the room into other parts of the house, which I appreciated. Bill gave me additional pointers to protect and clean the floor going forward, which were helpful to protect this investment. Overall, I am extremely pleased. I love the wood that we chose, it is installed perfectly and everything was left clean and orderly. I wish I had more projects to do! :) I will use them again as soon as I do and I certainly highly recommend them to anyone looking for clean, excellent flooring work. read more

Bill and his crew are first rate and first class. We've had him install carpeting, pergo and beautifully refinish hardwood floors in 3 of our homes now. When we had him do our first home, we had several bids and his was not the highest or the lowest, but it was in our ball park and we knew by his demeanor and reputation we were making the right decision. Obviously, we felt great about his first job continued to count on him for all or our flooring needs. Replaced carpeting & vinyl in living, dining, kitchen, & halls with wood laminate in June 2016. Bill really knows his stuff! He was punctual, reasonable, patient & accessible. He had to come back to nail the baseboards in the kitchen (they'd been glued) & did it promptly & graciously. He even demonstrated how to clean & spiff up the laminate. The wood planks were left in the house prior to installing to get them used to the rooms' temperature . He gave us several planks for the future "just in case". The whole project was completed in one day & his workers were polite, neat & efficient. Bill stuck to the schedule & oversaw the whole thing We couldn't be happier or more pleased with our new floors & Bill! read more

I am SO pleased to have learned about 123- Floor. We have had a floor that has needed to be redone for years and finally sought out three contractors (through YELP). The first came, gave an estimate and was gone. The second wouldn't even come to my home and just gave an (exorbitant) estimate via phone. And then, there was Bill. He came into our home, was so easy to talk to and ready with information we needed and didn't even know we needed. And when he left, I turned to my husband and said "this is the guy to work with, with or without our estimate". Good thing is, we got super-Bill and we got a great estimate. Bill even ordered our flooring based on the sample we had seen and loved at another flooring outlet. And now, we have a lovely floor- easy day and a half install (thanks to Pete!). Now I can't wait to paint the walls a new color to set off our new flooring. You can't go wrong with 123-Floor! read more

I absolutely LOVE our new carpet! It doesn't get better than working with Bill Powell...he goes the extra mile to make sure we're 100% happy! He showed us multiple samples until we were sure we selected the perfect carpet for us. He even drove to Modesto to pick up our carpet so we could have it done in time for a last minute occasion...now that's service! His installers are super nice and professional. They are detail-oriented, fast and efficient! Two days and our house was completely carpeted and furniture put back. Our carpet is gorgeous and so luxurious...my only question is why didn't we do this a long time ago. I fell back in love with our home! Thank you 123-Floor! You ROCK!!! read more

We've had Bill and his team complete two jobs in the past two years. Once putting in new hardwood floors in a bedroom and closet, the second time sanding and refinishing some water damaged floors. Both times the work was top quality and service was excellent. Highly recommend. read more

Bill and his team installed new wood floors in our home. He was always very professional, knowledgeable, fair and honest with us. Bill has very high quality standards as well. When the wood we picked out was delivered for installation, Bill inspected it and sent it back because there were imperfections in the wood that were barely visible, but still not acceptable to his standards. Bill will bend over backwards to ensure that you get a good product. The installation was not easy in our home for various reasons, but Bill's team was able to work out all the kinks and we ended up with a beautiful new floor that we are very happy with. 123 floor is the most reliable flooring contractor I've ever worked with. We hired 123 floor to upgrade flooring in a North Bay vacation rental. Bill provided us with all of the details necessary to make decisions. His estimate of our costs turned out to be exactly what we paid. His team was able to handle flooring challenges where other contractors would cut corners. His crew showed up on time and worked efficiently. We highly recommend 123 flooring. read more

Bill was so wonderful to work with. He was extremely responsive both when I initially contacted him and throughout the process. We purchased a new home and were doing renovations on it prior to moving in, and he was flexible to my availability -meeting me at the house early in the morning or on the weekends to show me samples and talk through options. Bill and I had selected a hardwood after talking through the type of wood I wanted, the quality of wood he recommended, and my budget. Unfortunately when Bill went to place the order the wood was on backorder and wouldn't arrive on time for our tight timeline. Bill quickly provided me with multiple other options and sourced the same type of wood from a vendor he doesn't typically use and ended up eating the difference in price from what he had quoted me to the flooring we ended up using. Additionally, when the work started, his crew discovered a fairly significant issue - the old molding installed by the old owner was nailed into a pipe in the kitchen and when it was removed it sprung a leak and Bill took charge of finding a plumber to fix the pipe the next day and directed his team to work on another part of the house so we didn't lose any time. Overall, my experience with Bill was excellent and when we get around to laying new floors or refinishing the wood (in 20 years) we will definitely use Bill again. read more

123-Floor surpasses my expectations each and every time I use them or refer them to clients, friends and family. They install carpet, of course, but they also install hardwood, from elegant high finish to intentionally distressed. They refinish floors for an economical approach. Turnaround time is often just days! The installation is always perfect. I use them in my own home, and homes I'm marketing for sale. 123-Floor is my go to for any type of flooring need. Bill and 1-2-3-Floor are simply the best. Moving to a new place can be stressful but Bill took a lot of the stress away for me. He came over on very short notice and help me chose a wonderful floor covering for the kitchen. Before the arrival of his crew, I had an ugly faked-wood kind of linoleum. Bill's crew worked while I was gone. What a pleasant surprise when I came back. Not only did the floor look fabulous, but everything was in its place, without dirt or debris. Just like magic. And the new floor is great: nice to look at and wonderful to step on first thing in the morning. Thanks Bill read more

We recently had the wooden floors in our kitchen replaced (due to damage from a sudden water leak) and the remaining wooden floors in our house refinished by 123-Floor. Both the new and refinished existing floors are beautiful! We knew Bill at 123-Floor was the right guy for the job when he came to our house and looked lovingly at the floors appreciating both the wood and finish. Bill was very nice, highly professional, patiently answered all of our questions, and was very helpful in selecting the finish and in matching the wood in the kitchen floor to that in the rest of the house (its an excellent match). He also provided us with care instructions which were greatly appreciated. It didn't feel like we were just one more job for him to check off his list, but rather he wanted to make sure our floors could look as good as possible and that we were pleased with the final product. We wouldn't hesitate to use 123-Floor and work with Bill again. read more
