F1 made a special effort to lay my new floors in spite of multiple setbacks from my insurance company. They were willing to work with a set of tough circumstances and the results are everything I hoped for. I'm sure many Marinites want to support small local businesses -this is one of the best. It was wonderful to work with Monica and Hikmet. We wanted to remove the carpets from our bedrooms and replace with hardwood floors. They were attentive and responsive. We had such a wonderful experience with this family run company. Hikmet and Monica were amazing - did not rush us in making any decisions, supported us as we tried to figure out what would be best for us and had very competitive, reasonable pricing. Installation was seamless - fabulous team, very professional and took great care of our furniture as they moved it in and out to put in the new carpeting and dispose of the old. We love our new carpets and highly recommend them! read more

Absolutely phenomenal hardwood floor installers -- truly the best experience we've had with any home project. Their communication was outstanding from start to finish, they showed up exactly when they said they would, and everything was handled with professionalism and care. What really sets them apart is how much they care about quality. They don't just do the work to get it done -- they do it to make sure it looks amazing. The craftsmanship is flawless and the attention to detail is exceptional. I'm generally very picky -- there's almost always something I'd change -- but in this case, I have nothing but rave reviews. We are beyond happy with the results. Highly, highly recommend. We would absolutely use them again without hesitation. read more

We recently used FI Flooring and Design to install laminate flooring in our home and were extremely satisfied. Both Monica and Hikmet took a lot of time and care to help make sure it was the right flooring, without any pressure or sales tactics. The cost was reasonable and the result (also major, major kudos to their talented and professional installation crew!) was above all expectations. Highly recommend! read more

I've used Hikmet with FI Flooring twice in the last few years to replace wood flooring in my house in Marin and a project for my boss in San Francisco. Hikmet and Monica are very knowledgeable, have an amazing store with lots of samples in stock, quoted an unbelievable price for the work and most of all completed with work with every detail crafted with care. Hikmet is a true genius and most of all takes pride in his work. They got the jobs done fast and under budget. Highly recommend FI Flooring to everyone, no matter your project size, type of flooring or budget. read more

We had such a great experience with FI Flooring! From the start, their team responded super quickly and made the whole process easy. Monica is wonderful. She really listened and made sure every one of my needs was addressed while helping us select the perfect carpeting. The installation crew was professional, efficient, and delivered beautiful results. We're thrilled with how everything turned out and wouldn't hesitate to recommend FI Flooring to anyone. I can't wait to have them come back to redo our hardwood floors! read more

Monica, Hikmet & team have been so wonderful we can't recommend them enough. We recently bought a bit of a fixer upper and were hoping to do a lot of the work ourselves but we knew the flooring we had to invest in. With so many projects though we had a tight budget. Through Nextdoor we found F1Flooring & Design. They refinished our hardwood, put new flooring in the kitchen, guest bathroom and entryway, new baseboards throughout plus some repair work for subfloor. Monica is extremely communicative (which has been such a breath of fresh air in this fixer upper journey of ours) and Hikmet literally just handles everything. He even dealt with our Costco appliance delivery unexpectedly! If you are looking for a trustworthy company to handle your flooring needs I highly recommend them. read more

I Enthusiastically Recommend FI Flooring! Monica and Hikmet are wonderful to work with and are a fine example of local business at its best. From the very first moment I met them in their store, I was impressed with their professional and approachable demeanor. My project took much longer than anticipated due to no issue on their part, and Monica was great at following up during the delay. Izrael and Celso did a terrific job on the installation, and they, together with Hikmet found quick solutions to previously unknown issues that cropped up during the process. I am incredibly pleased with how everything has turned out. This is a wonderful, family-owned business with people who know what they do and take pride in what they do. Jen C. read more

We couldn't be more pleased with the FI Flooring team of Monica and Hikmet. They were very responsive, helpful in our design, and did high quality work. Every day they showed up on time, worked hard and cleaned up thoroughly. I cannot recommend the FI Flooring team highly enough! read more

Excellent service! We went back to FI Flooring many times to test different flooring options for our finished garage space, and are very happy with our floor now that it is installed. The installation was done very well, especially the transitions to outside. The room is very usable as a place to play games and hang out and looks great. Monica and Hikmet are easy to work with, without any pressure to buy. We are now planning to use them to install flooring in a large room in our house as well. read more

We made the mistake of hiring a different, cheaper contractor instead of FI Flooring -- and we wish we'd gone with them from the start. After a frustrating experience with delays, poor communication, and subpar results, we reached out to FI Flooring for help. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and clearly a cut above the rest. Even just speaking with them made it clear they knew what they were doing and cared about quality and customer service. Both Hikmet and Monica are extremely kind and helped us figure out next steps. If you're on the fence or trying to decide between companies, do yourself a favor and hire FI Flooring. We learned the hard way that not all contractors are created equal -- and FI flooring stands out in all the right ways, in particular they are very detail oriented. Next time we have a flooring project we will hire them from the start. read more

Monica and Hikmet were awesome to work with! Super organized and very responsive. They installed over 2500SF of wide plank wood flooring for us. Great quality and great to work with. Highly recommend for any flooring project. Will upload photos once our project is complete in 30 days! read more

Three weeks ago, the FI team replaced the carpet on the second floor of our house. The whole process was incredibly smooth, from the choosing of the carpet to the installation. Monica made sure that we had many samples to bring home and made sure that we found a product that we liked and suited our budget. The crew was fantastic. They moved all the furniture very neatly and the installation was impeccable. After they were done, they put everything back where they found it and cleaned the area. Hikmet even took the time to open up the rolls of carpet a few days before in their store, so we wouldn't have to breathe as many fumes after the installation. We love our new carpet. I'm glad we were inspired to see different options than the traditional Home Depot style carpet that we were used to. Thanks FI! read more

FI Flooring laid down new hardwood in my downstairs living spaces. Hikmet, the owner, was super nice and worked with me to sort out my hardwood flooring decisions. Crew was efficient, respectful and clean -- easy to have them working in my home despite the obvious upheaval of our downstairs. Clear communication and support from office staff. And the floor looks beautiful, no squeaks, no gaps, nice job on caulking. Haven't had any punch list items! I would easily hire them again. You can tell they are a local family business and take pride in what they do -- they've earned it in my book. A solid business. read more

They did a carpet install. Amazing service. Helped with picking out carpet. Very responsive to questions and very helpful. Came to the house and gave estimate and talked about quality. Started looking for carpet and within a week had samples, estimate and continous communication. They ordered everything and was able to have installed within a week before company arrived. Very responsive and polite and courteous. Cleaned and moved furniture in and out. I was so impressed. Beat any estimate we had been given. Highly recommend this company to anyone needing flooring. Which now my son is getting his whole house done. Quality was exceptional quality and service! read more

FI Flooring and Design - They did a carpet install. Amazing service. - Flooring Near Me - San Rafael, California

We checked with three places, and found FI Flooring to have the best quality, professionalism and price. Monica and Hikmet are an amazing team. Monica manages the scheduling and admin side of things. She's extremely responsive and warm. Hikmet does the actual work, occasionally with some help. I am impressed by Hikmet's depth of knowledge about flooring. We had oak hardwood flooring installed to match the rest of the house. The floor is a perfect match (you can see the original flooring in the hallway section of the photo, and the new flooring in the room with the desk). Hikmet also carefully removed a heavy desk that required removing a door, and he put that plus other furnishings back in place. He also went above and beyond in some of the clean up details. Highly recommend FI Flooring. read more

My wife and I had FI Flooring install a new SPC vinyl plank floor in our Novato home last week. It was a fantastic experience and the floor looks stunning. FI Flooring is a local business. Monica and Hikmet, the husband and wife owners, were an absolute pleasure to work with. Monica runs the front office and is friendly, patient and incredibly knowledgeable. Hikmet is in charge of installation and has 20+ years of experience. He's a true expert craftsman and all around good guy. The installation crew was punctual, professional and left our home in pristine condition. FI Flooring's showroom is in San Rafael (Terra Linda). It's easy to get to with parking right out front. And they have a huge selection of quality flooring options. Monica let us borrow multiple samples to "try out" at home. What really impressed me about FI Flooring was their complete honesty and excellent communication throughout the process. Both Monica and Hikmet paid careful attention to our specific needs. A very rare quality these days. They deserve a solid 5-star rating. I won't hesitate to refer friends and family to them. read more

Excellent service and communication. Monica was very efficient with scheduling, follow up and payments. Hikmet came out personally to our home with a wide variety of samples so we could see how the carpet would look and feel in our hone. The installers were professional, courteous and very efficient. They removed and replaced all the furniture in the two bedrooms and cleaned up all the old carpet and underlay and left the areas they traversed through the home tidy. Monica even sent us a thank you note!! Highly recommend. read more

Monica and Hikmet were incredible. They did a great job helping us select new wood flooring. They provided very fair pricing compared to other Marin companies we considered. And they did an amazing job doing the installation. They worked hard every day and had a large job completed in a matter of days, including taking on some extra work to fix some rotted sub-flooring and replacing the molding in one room. Hikmet and his crew have years of experience doing this work and it showed through in the quality of the result. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. read more

Top-Notch Flooring by a Trusted Local Family Business I recently had the pleasure of working with FI Flooring, a fantastic local family-owned company. Monica expertly advised on the best options for our specific needs. Hikmet's highly experienced team did an exceptional job installing gorgeous engineered wood floors, fluffy stain-proof carpets, and durable LVP for high traffic areas, all of which are of superior quality (these new carpets with waterproof underlay are cleaner and softer feeling than anything I had seen before). Because they're so experienced they finished quickly without compromising quality. What stood out to me was the team's dedication to customer care - they carefully moved furniture, took great care to protect the surroundings during installation, and tidied up beautifully afterwards. They were flexible to my specific requests during the installation process. I wholeheartedly recommend their services for anyone in need of reliable and high-quality flooring solutions. read more

FI Floorind did an awesome job from begining to end replacing the old bamboo flooring and carpet in our house with beautiful new engineered wood floors. We walked into their showroom on a Friday afternoon, took samples home, and Hikmet came over the same day to look at the house, give his advice, and create the quote. We were on a really tight schedule to complete the install before we moved in, and Hikmet and Monica committed to the dates and met it with a day to spare. They sent daily updates and photos of the work progress. Hikmet even removed the original asbestos VCT that was under the carpet. They also installed new baseboards throughout the house. Hikmet and his team are really talented with an attention to detail. It's been a month and overall the workmanship is great, the whole process was really quick and simple. I would definitly use them again in the future! read more

Highly recommend Monica and Hikmet at FI Flooring and Design. Fantastic work and customer service throughout. Our project was for new hard wood floors for 2 floors and 2 stair cases in an old home. The home had multiple complications including different types of existing flooring (carpet, old wood floors, old parquet floors) and uneven subfloor due to age and warping. A few highlights: - worked with us to find materials that fit our picky requirements (low VOC, natural finish) from the wood to the glue - provided multiple options without prompting for this like custom stairs, custom heating vents, and fireplace hearth transitions in an old house - worked with and around multiple other contractors. This included us changing dates around on them multiple times, asking them to share the work space during ongoing construction with painters, carpenters, and electricians. They were incredibly accommodating and well regarded by all the other professionals on the site. - Coming back to address some minor items quickly and without trying to place blame or negotiate changes (fill some nails holes that we missed that we noticed a few days later, that sort of thing) We will come back to FI Flooring for any future projects we have. read more

This is my second review for FI Flooring & Design. After the company did my hardwood floor installation, I contracted with them to install luxury vinyl in my kitchen and bathroom which turned out beautifully, and just a few days ago, I had them install wall-to-wall carpeting in my master bedroom which also looks beautiful. Their business on Redwood Highway in San Rafael is easy to get to and you can park right outside the door which makes it a simple job to load and unload the samples you take home! Dealing with Hikmet and Monica, who own the company, has been a pleasure indeed and I recommend them completely. read more

FI Flooring & Design - Highly Recommend!!! Cannot say enough good things about the professionalism and care they took in helping me with my carpet selection, installation, moving of furniture, etc. Monica, the owner, is absolutely fantastic and so easy to work with. She listens to what you are looking for and then shows you samples. I wanted larger samples to get a better idea. She ordered them for me and had them shipped directly to me. I recently had such a good experience with a flooring company, that I want to spread the word. The business is named FI Flooring & Design in San Rafael, and is owned by Hikmet and Monica Ozbek. Both of them were extremely responsive and easy to work with on my project. They offered many choices, and were very willing to bring numerous samples to my home and leave them so that I could see them in different lights and at different times of day.. Hikmet helped me make the right choice to blend with existing flooring that I wasn't replacing. They both answered all my questions with sincerity. Not only was I allowed to keep samples for a few days but the installation appointment was set up quickly.
