    Gnocchi

Stopped by two nights in a row as we were in the area visiting Ohiopyle State Park. A local spot open late with menus for various dietary restrictions. Large cocktail and beer menu with several local offerings. Open late. Friday night there was great acoustic music from a duo on piano and guitar. We were lucky to get a table in the middle of the dining area with a great view. Huge servings. While it wasn't my favorite style of classic red sauce, the gnocchi was clearly homemade and fresh. The barramundi was served with delicious green beans and well seasoned potatoes. Really enjoyed my boulevardier and the screech owl brew was great. Finished the night with a huge heaping slice of chocolate cake - enough to serve 4! The next night was a Halloween party in a Saturday night. Another local band. Lively and much younger crowd. We stopped by for a quick bite. I had the fried mozzarella, think seasoned mozzarella sticks in rounds. Gooey stretchy cheese of dreams. The burger was served with shoestring fries. Except to sit a while. Enjoy the local food scene and come with an empty stomach because you're sure to fill up.

Stopped here for dinner as we were in the area. The old building the restaurant is in was cool to look at. Lots of old stone and wood for the restaurant decor. We had a party of 4 and were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress Lexi was nice and took care of us throughout our time there. We started out with the buffalo chicken and spinach dip for an appetizer. It was absolutely delicious the combination of the two dips was amazing! We all wished that they served more naans with the dip. For my entree I ordered the white chicken parmesan. The risotto was good nice and cheesy. The chicken didn't seem to be the best quality of meat and was a little burnt from the broiler I'm assuming. Two of the other guests in our group weren't too happy with what they ordered either. One ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and he said "it's a pile of pasta with sauce that taste like ketchup" I had a good chuckle at his critique. My niece ordered the gnocchi with meatballs and said it was mediocre at best. She mentioned that the meatballs were good, but it was hard to tell if the gnocchi was stuffed with anything. I would come back just for that dip! Maybe we just hit this place on an off day?

This was the only restaurant open on a Sunday evening near the Fayette County Fair, so me and my friends decided to stop by to grab a bite to eat. When we walked in, we were told that since we did not have a reservation, we would have to wait 30 minutes before we would be able to order. The restaurant wasn't even full at all, so this was very confusing for all of us. We sat down and were given waters and menus, so we could order as soon as we could. After about 45 minutes of waiting, we then had to ask the hostess if we were able to order or not. The waitresses were messing around with some of the guys at the bar, so this was very aggravating as they could have been helping us. However, after all the wait, the food was mediocre. Of the images photoed, the burger was the best by far! It was properly cooked, but wasn't anything special. The Jimmy's Cheesesteak was average, it didn't seem super fresh, and there was a lot more bread than meat. The shoe-string fries that came with were kinda cold and they were oily and soft, as if they were a few days old. My girlfriend and I split the a side of the parmesan risotto, which was okay as it was very very salty.

Service was ok. Not much ambiance, felt as though I was in a sports bar with all the screens. Food appearance was great as well as the portions however, the taste just not that great. Hub had the prosciutto/cheese lasagna. A very rich dish that was too salty. Myself, had the seafood pot pie. No scallops or crab from what I could tell as stated in the menu description The shrimp were tiny salad shrimp. Very disappointed in the quality of my dish. My mother had the turkey dinner, she didn't have much to say about her meal.

This is our first time here. We grew up in the area but live an hour north of here. I've been wanting to try this place out for sometime. We came here for my 46th Birthday with my parents and in-laws. As soon as I arrived I told them we had reservations and they seated us. Our parents who live locally were already here and sitting. Our waitress comes out and asks what we want to drink. She provided a menu. I ordered a water and glass of the Malbec. My wife wanted the Riesling. Turned they only had a single bottle of white wine available. Like it's 6 pm, how are you out of white wine already. They ordered the last bottle and it wasn't that great. We ordered two appetizers, as we had 10 in our party. Both appetizers were good but they had way too much salt in the meals Everyone at the table complained about that. I ordered the New York strip steak well done or as close as you can get it. The waitress said medium? I said no well. I said I know they will not and she insisted they will. She was wrong it was or had some pink. But no complaints. It was delicious. I got this over the other steak because it came with mash potatoes. They may have been some of the worst that I've tried. They had no flavor at all. Someone else tried them and same result 0 flavor. Now dessert. The desert that three of us wanted, they only had a single piece remaining. Overall this place is trying to be upscale but at the end of the day you're in Uniontown not Pittsburgh. It's possible, but do a better job with the preparation of your food, ensure that you're not out of items before you open. Especially white wine.

Liked that you could make reservations and they have their own mini parking lot available so you don't always need to street park. Portions are so huge that I couldn't stop laughing when my main dish arrived. Holy!!! We both got the baked pasta dishes and they looked like family size portions. They specify in their menu that you can't share dishes which I didn't like. I normally love leftovers but we were visiting the area and our hotel didn't have a fridge so it wasn't ideal. I enjoyed getting a half size salad from their dinner salad features. Everything was super delicious!

    I need this wine glass!

Holy moly, way to go Uniontown! Our dining experience was one to remember for sure. First; let me start by saying our reservations for after a graduation we're at 9:15. unfortunately, we didn't make it to Marilyns until 10PM. The hostess explained that the kitchen closed at 10, which we almost expected (because 10 is late) but explained that she would ask the kitchen if they minded. To our surprise, the kitchen was willing to let our table of four order. I'm so glad they did! Sadly enough, because we were being mindful of the time, I couldn't really scope out the menu too too much. I just picked an item I saw right away, (gnocchi Florentine) and I don't regret my decision at all! It was awesome. Take always: Not only did the kitchen stay open for us... they took their time with preparing the food. And it was noticeable! It would have been easy for our service to be slow or inconsistent, or the kitchen to throw food on a plate because they were done serving food at ten, but they didn't! They really took pride in their service and food and we were extremely grateful. The handmade pasta, huge portions, and quality taste can't be compared to any other restaurant in Uniontown. With that being said, I live in Pittsburgh and can't tell you the last time I've been so happy eating at a restaurant near the city. The decor is beautiful; the bar is stocked; oh... and they had outside seating with a reggae band on a Friday night! I can't wait to come back here, and I suggest that you check it out! Would be great for out towners to check out if you're staying at Nemacolin Note: not very many vegetarian/options but they did remove the ham from my pasta (still had cream and cheese though, so not vegan)

Your classic amazing service, homemade local restaurant. Josh, our waiter, knew what he was doing. His first priority was the customer

We have tried many times over the years to get to the new location, but it is so difficult. Especially when you have kids and family events, and have to plan two weeks ahead in order to get them to give a reservation. Be forewarned, make a reservation! You cannot just decide to go to dinner one night and choose Caporella's....at least we've never been able to. For our visit this time, we really liked the location. It is definitely beautiful. Our service was good, as well, while we were there. It was just the wife and I with our youngest, since she was a last minute add-on to our planned date night, and the server was great with her. Food wise, some things impressed, some did not. I do not feel the quality of what I had this time matched the stellar experiences I used to have at the old location. The price tag on few things, as well, didn't measure up. Let me explain. For appetizers: The Beans and Greens were still literally the BEST I have ever had in my life. Their version still stands for what I measure all others against. The Cheese Logs were good albeit crazy for the price, and breading was super heavy on them. For Soups: We had to try the French Onion Soup, as we always do anywhere. It was..eh. Reminded me of a beef vegetable soup with some onions thrown in. There was no depth to it like a stellar FOS would have. It reminded me of something that was just thrown together really quickly. For Dinners: I had the Chicken Parm. Chicken was good, but I really did not like the spaghetti sauce. I'm picky, and it probably is just "me". I don't like tomato-y canned tasting acidic marinara. The wife had their version of a Chicken Piccata, her usual go to, and hated it. She took it home, and I ate it for lunch the next day. It was very sour. Daughter had gnocchi, and liked it. For Desserts: A spumoni, which was great, and a Tiramisu. HATED THAT. I was under the impression it was going to be Tiramisu....not a dry as a bone tiramisu-flavored cake. Was the first time you would hear me say I was very thankful for getting such a small piece. Would NOT get again. Overall, I am not sure if I will be going out of my way to go back again for anything other than those Beans n' Greens. They really are amazing. But, for anything else, the price tag and what we received this time was not going to draw us back again vs. other options in the area, compounded with how difficult it is for us to get there with the reservation-must-have. It's good, but not THAT good.

It's always great finding hidden gems whenever we make our roadtrips. Here we are in our hotel amongst so many chain restaurants and we do not do chains. Following Yelp reviews we made a list and then checked it twice, yup for real with a local who works at the Hilton in Uniontown. When went with low to medium expectations and had that blown away as soon as Kameron made his intro never saying no to anything we were asking about. For our dinner we started with the crab special, gorgeous chunks of finished in a balsamic reduction. For my main, I had the walleye special and the fish was cooked to perfection very lightly breaded lightly fried, extremely moist, tender, and very tasty and beautifully plated against the side of vegetables. My wife had grilled chicken penne à la vodka that she absolutely loved. We were on such a good role and enjoying ourselves with our bottle of wine as well that we decided to order coffee sides with espresso and a lemon Raspberry cake that our surprise was so amazing. We actually did finish it. Please see photographs of our beautiful meal and since we were in the area for a couple days, we are going again during this trip .
