It was a bit after 8am on a Friday morning and the place was hopping but we were able to grab a booth. The wait staff was hustling and eventually got to us. The service was very good from that point onward despite the fact that the place was packed by the time we left. The menu is on the back wall or via a QR code (never my favorite). They also have menus on the wall from the 50's which are eyeopening given today's prices. We started with a cherry milkshake that was not only delicious but huge so two of us split it. All three of us opted for their breakfast sandwich which you can build with many different variations - way more than most restaurants. All three versions were tasty. The side of yanks (American fry potatoes) were just OK but I didn't order them. Thumbs up and we will need to return sooner rather than later.

I had the american cheese omelet with bacon and toast. My one complaint was that the bottom of my omelet was a lil burnt. Otherwise everything tasted exactly how it looked. We also got a vanilla shake. It came with extra straws and long spoons. I would personally recommend using the long spoons to consume this shake since I tried using the straw and it was difficult. Perhaps someone with stronger lungs would have more success. The shake was very sweet. Overall, had a lovely time. Will be back to try some of the sweet dishes next! Thanks :)

I really wanted to love my experience at Golden Nest, especially because I love the new location…read more The space is beautiful and has a great feel, but unfortunately, the meal just wasn't my favorite. I ordered the Steak & Egg Bowl, and while I was excited to try it, it didn't quite live up to expectations. One of the biggest disappointments was the eggs. I was really hoping for that perfectly runny yolk that would ooze over the bowl, but the eggs were cooked through instead. The service was also slower than expected. It was a busy Sunday, but the restaurant wasn't packed, so I was surprised by how long everything took. I think Golden Nest has a lot of potential, and I really do love the new location. However, based on this experience, there are other places where I can get a more affordable meal with food that I enjoy more. I'd be willing to give it another try because I like the concept and the space, but this particular meal just wasn't a standout for me.

The best and fun part of our breakfast experience was ROSY! She is an actual robot who delivers your food! I'm not joking! See my pictures to see ROSY! I was surprised, and the others at our table were laughing so hard. It made our brunch so much fun! The food was tasty and the portions were just right. If I'm visiting in the area again, I will be stopping by Golden Nest to have another opportunity to see the staff and of course, ROSY!

It was off the highway, so I thought I would give it a go. Walked in and it was what you would expect from a Wisconsin diner -- old carpeting, waitresses who are lifers, and signage from the bygone era. I sat at the bar, with barstools that came about 4 feet off the ground, and asked the cordially waitress what was good. She rattled off about 3/4 of the breakfast menu so I needed a few minutes. A few minutes passed and I went with the Krab Cakes Benedict (why the K?) and the Cottage Platter. The crab cakes were decent (definitely better than the Cottage Platter), but very crisp on the outside, straddling the line of burnt, and somewhat cooked on the inside. Light on the seasoning. As they say on the cooking shows, it was screaming for some acidity...or in this case some Old Bay. Then the Cottage Platter, which I was very much looking forward to, fell flat for me. The hashbrowns had a funky taste to them, which I couldn't quite place. And again, overall, the dish was lacking in flavor. Would I go out of my way to hit this place up again? Most likely not. If I was in the area and wanted to try something else, I probably would.

There is a see a shadow appeared by the order counter, no smile no greetings, just an annoyed look of discontent. In my thoughts, is this a ghost? In such an old house, it must be. I looked at the board menu. I ordered the. corn beef, sunny side eggs, and toast. After ordering, I paid for the breakfast meals. To my surprise, I was asked to tip 18%, 20% and 25%. In my mind, does a ghostly figure did she deserve a tip. Even though, I didn't receive good customer service but I tipped. I was given a mechanical box to alarm me when my order is ready. I started walking inside the narrow corridor. I looked at the decorations on the wall. It seems like the decor and images inside the frames moving around with prying eyes. Finally, a place to sit. A buzzing sound alerted me, ah the breakfast meals are ready. I walked back to the order counter. I was confused, I have to get my own order from a small window and serve myself. Jinkies! Mystery has been solved. That's why the restaurant is named 'Lazy Janes', there is no customer service. It's the patron's job to get the food and clean up. Does this eating experience deserve a tip?

The sourdough "toast" was one piece of sourdough, folded in half, completely untoasted, and there was no jam/jelly included. I CANNOT BELIEVE they sent that slop out to a customer! If I owned that restaurant, I would definitely check every single order before it went to a customer, whether dine in or carryout, and hire all new cooks. Do not waste your money.
