Veggie frittata special with hash browns & sourdough
    Alyssa M.

This was my first meal in Madison and it did not disappoint! There were so many delicious options on the menu and in the pastry case, but I went with the veggie frittata special and split a blackberry scone with my friend. The scone was perfectly moist and had whole blackberries inside, with a delicious sweet glaze on top! This may have been the best scone I ever had and I wish I lived close so I could try more flavors! The meal was delicious as well, and I loved that they had fresh jams to use on the toast. I also had a hot mocha latte which was absolutely delicious, and I'm picky with hot coffee! The service was very quick and the inside is adorable, with a very homey vibe. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area for a cute little brunch spot.

Birthday brunch for (1). My portion was absolutely massive and I was absolutely unable to finish it. Phenomenal atmosphere, even better marmalade.

My fiancé really wanted a waffles so we ended up here on Sunday morning! The food was delicious. My eggs were perfectly cooked and the hashbrowns were nice and crispy. He loved the waffle with all the toppings. The gal taking orders was very personable and answered our questions honestly. The restaurant itself is super quaint and cozy, perfect for a Sunday breakfast. There's lots of street parking around if the lot is full! We will definitely be back.

It's been awhile since I've been to Lazy Jane's, but it's still as good as I remember it to be. We stopped in for a late breakfast and of course I had to get a couple of scones for later. I just love the chill vibe here and they take credit cards now (not sure when they started to take them but last time I went they only accepted cash).

I stopped by on a Saturday morning for breakfast. One pays in the counter, gets a buzzer and finds a seat. I got a seat right away. My buzzer didn't work. Not sure if they forgot to buzz or the buzzer itself is faulty. I waited for about half and hour and checked about the situation. My food was sitting in the counter window all that time. So finally I was asked to take the cold food and eat. Then came the next problem. No forks. They are still washing. I waited for a while and got the forks. By then the problem shifted to no knives. Finally I collected the knives after a while. Granola with berries and banana was good. My other items were corned beef hash and taco omelette. Both were cold to appreciate the taste. I think taco omelette was better. Chai latte was fine. Overall, I found food ok. But this place is very disorganized.

Almost a decade and a half in Madison and finally made it to Lazy Janes. Great breakfast! Lots of options. Comfortable dining atmosphere makes you feel like you are in your grandma's kitchen. Will definitely be back. Counter service with buzzers to pick up your food at the counter.

Lazy Jane's is such a staple on Willy Street! It's very unique and eclectic and a fun casual spot. You order at the counter and they call out your order when it's ready. We've ordered many things but this last visit I chose the waffles. They are fluffy and delicious! I will say at times, the service is slow, but they are always busy so it's just something to keep in mind, especially if you're going on a weekend!

Great and not too crowded on a Friday morning. It's nice that the coffee comes with one free refill.

We loved Lazy Jane's as much on our recent visit. A must when in the area! The scones, scrambles and sourdough rye is worth the trip.

Overall it was good. Not much to say - obviously the food isn't amazing but it was right for the moment and we'd go back for another sat or sun breakfast

I love how unique the decor is. It is overstimulating and I love looking at all of the interesting decorations. I stuck with a simple breakfast, and was satisfied with my decision. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon portion was fair, and the morning bun was delicious!! The only bummer is the hash browns have no crunch, and the lighting is a bright white making is less cozy than ideal... other than that I enjoy this restaurant. The food is always served fast and the cooks are always friendly.

Corned beef hash with two perfect eggs every easy.

Extremely nice staff, beautiful and cute atmosphere, and my breakfast was amazing!!! Actually finished my plate. Yum!!!

Lazy Jane's is such a cozy little spot! You order food up front, wait for them to call your name, pick it up at the window, and find a table to sit at. I love taking our meal upstairs, it feels like we're sitting in a little cottage. Anyway, on to the food. I always get the tofu scramble, a scone, and a chai latte. Everything is so flavorful and yummy. It's a little expensive, we usually spend around $40 for two on brunch, but the portions are large. The staff are friendly and helpful. Always happy going here!!

The turkey was a hot sandwich while the classic was a cold. The location itself is small, feels like a hole in the wall bar with great cozy vibes. But if you were open to just having a nice casual dinner in a retro easy place, this is it. My fiance and I went to meet up with some friends from out of town and from a list of places I wanted to try, they chose this one. Between the two of us, we spent about $60 for this meal, which I suppose now adays is on par with what you can get away with. We also left with half a sandwich because honestly, these guys are huge! -Hot Beef Sando with Cheese (extra): this was a massive sandwich, packed with flavor. The ah jus was on the side and needed for dunking. It hit the spot, was a messy affair, but was very good. The meat wasn't melt in your mouth, it was actually quite dry, but the mix of everything together and the dip made it good overall. - Chili Cup: well spiced, super small cup and charging a dollar for each addition of onion, cheese, and sour cream is murder. Pass on the fixings, the soup doesn't need it, but it's not something i'd get again as it wasn't knock out of the park good. -Homemade Orange Soda: this was great. I love the nostalgia of using Tang and it was more earthy because they put some spices in it. Overall, would get again. -Coleslaw was asian inspired and made well, especially with the mint on top. Be warned though, its the same slaw on the pulled chicken...which speaking of: -Pulled chicken sandwich: It's their meat americanized fusion version of a banh mi. I know they have a vegan one on their menu, but this one felt less like a sandwich. The spices weren't quite asian tho and was interesting with the slaw. I wouldn't say it was my favorite but I did eat a whole half. Happy nomming!

I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich, and the gentleman taking my order pointed to a random piece of focaccia on display on the counter and asked if I'd like my sandwich on that. I don't know what kind of bread if normally comes on, but I have since read about the thicker/crustier bread on some reviews. Gosh am I glad he offered the focaccia. The bread made this sandwich, it was sooo good. It was light and fluffy despite being substantial in size, and had this delightful little crunch from the sea salt on it (not in a salty sense, just in a wonderful texture sense). There was a ton of turkey on it and it was a yummy smoked flavor. The other fixings were standard but complimented the sandwich very well. The sandwich was tasty and filling. All this said, because I paid $16 for my sandwich, I wouldn't make it a regular occurrence, maybe a special treat. But if it's on regular bread, particularly a harder crust bread, I think I'd skip it entirely. You do get a lot of sandwich for your money, but I just can't justify it. So, overall, this is definitely worth trying and deciding for yourself - I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The kid's turkey sandwich is really nice and comes on a freshly baked roll with a generous side of fresh fruit-it doesn't come with mayo or another spread, so you might want to ask for. The bread was delicious and I was sad, but not surprised, there were almost no loaves left for purchase. The only negative was the greens served with the sandwich. Staff were very friendly, especially Onah R at the register. And the treats that we took home were fantastic: - Chocolate Chip Cookie. Slight crunch on the rim and then soft on the inside. - Molasses Cookie. The same as chocolate chip, but even better with a thick chewy center that I didn't want to end. Kouign Amman - Not as good as what we had in Paris, but a solid entry! Unfortunately, breakfast was not their strong suit. My Croque Madame was dry, and the bread was just too thick to enjoy as a sandwich, I had to open it up to be able to eat it. The workers here also try to provide table service and bring your sandwich out to you if you do dine-in.
