Solid food, professional service, and a comfortable room. No standout friction, no fireworks either. Nice neighborhood spot, would go back. Made a reservation for dinner with friends, though we probably would have been fine walking in. The place filled up fast after we sat down, so the reservation gave us peace of mind either way. Got the chicken marsala. Chicken was tender, well cooked, no complaints. We split the kale salad and the kitchen plated it on two dishes without us asking, which was a nice touch. Finished with key lime pie. Good way to end the meal. The dining room is bigger than you would expect to stay quiet, but it does. We held a normal conversation the whole time without anyone raising their voice. Worth knowing if you want to actually talk to the people you came with. Service was professional and friendly. Team approach, not one server hovering. Nobody overdid the small talk, but we were checked on when we needed it. Menu has range, so it works for a group with different preferences. They do breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there is a bakery location too. Going back to try breakfast soon. Super disappointed... frequent traveler to the Springs. Like to try difft restaurants when I'm on the road. This was the second of three restaurants within 50 feet of each other that were open per their website, but closed the kitchen early and turned me away. Particularly upsetting is that I am inside the restaurant, waiting for service at the host desk, and a staff member walks by me to close the door, and comes back to ask if I've been helped. I asked if I could be seated... And he said I'm sorry we just closed. He did indicate that there were several large parties that night, one that had just literally left as I was walking in. Eight of us had dinner here while staying at the Broadmoor. I had the lobster and shrimp ravioli with extra shrimp and it was delicious. It didn't need the extra shrimp and frankly, they were a bit overcooked. I also shared the escargot with Hubs and that's always a treat. Their rolls are yummy too. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. My MIL said the lobster bites were amazing. I tried several desserts but didn't love any of them. I might have been too full! Favorites at the table were the key lime and red velvet. I was partial to the carrot cake, but I'm more of a chocolate person and no one ordered that! This came recommended by a local. It must be popular- both tables next to us seemed to be regulars. Servers were earnest and sweet. Since it was our first time, we were comped a small capes platter. Hubs lobster bisque and chicken eggrolls were good. But it went downhill with our entrees. The squash ravioli w/ duck confit was in a broth, not a sauce- and it had almost no brown butter taste, as described on the menu. My mushroom ravioli were drowned in an overly heavy cheese sauce that completely overpowered the mushroom. Sigh! On the way out, they offer you a bag of treats from their bakery. We had a very nice brunch here yesterday! It's a lovely place- it was our first time at this Bistro location and it was a week after they started breakfast/brunch service. It was cool seeing former servers from the original Marigold here- they said they love working at this new location. We were struck by the camaraderie among the staff and also among the staff and guests- we must have seen 30 hugs during our time there- it was sweet. I believe our server was Riley but we had several people visit our table to help. Riley was warm and friendly. We had to ask for cream and sugar for the coffee from three different people before they remembered to bring it, and there were no spoons with the silverware to help stir the coffee. Otherwise service was very good. The menu is great and I love the option of adding one of their delicious baked goods like their cinnamon twists, scones etc. I had to get a chocolate chip scone- they are so good! The biscuits and gravy were good- not super creamy gravy as you might expect and not a ton of it like you get other places, but it was tasty and enough. The potatoes were really good too. My husband enjoyed his breakfast bowl. Our friend thought the lemon blueberry pancakes were delicious and also appreciated the thoughtful addition of blueberry compote when she asked for extra blueberries. It's exciting to have the option of the delicious Marigold experience and food finally at breakfast/brunch time! We will come again. read more

Our first time at this delightful bistro was last night, and our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. The atmosphere is lovely and it's quiet enough (even though it was filled to capacity) to have a conversation and not have to raise our voices. The food was impeccable and our server, Riley, was outstanding. He was kind, friendly, helpful, engaging, professional, and also far exceeded our expectations. My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary at Marigold Bistro, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed, and the host even complimented my wife--a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening. The chef absolutely delivered on every dish. We were surprised with a complimentary champagne toast and a caprese salad to start, which was a delightful and unexpected gesture. I was really really looking forward to this restaurant. I heard the desserts were amazing and I also heard their food was great as well. Maybe I had high expectations coming in, but I was a bit disappointed with the food. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. The salad was typical, but the NY Steak was a bit disappointing. The fat was not burnt so I'm guessing their oven isn't very hot. I didn't finish the steak and that spike volume. I didn't like the vegetable choices either. However, service was excellent and it's a beautiful restaurant. I would come back but I may order something else. For Thinsulin fans, there's green light options, but there could be more opportunities to make more green light dishes. read more

I had the cauliflower Asiago soup as my appetizer. It was delicious. Creamy and cheesy. I then had the ravioli in a butter sage sauce topped with duck confit. The sauce was too watery, it should have had a more pronounced butter flavor. I could barely taste the butter. The duck crispy and very good. The waiter was very friendly, too friendly and attentive for my taste. The dining area was comfortable and not too loud. read more

What a special place to have in Colorado Springs. We had the most delightful and delicious breakfast here this morning. My husband had an omelette with goat cheese, mushroom and spinach. Yum! I had the classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, potatoes O'Brien and sausage. And what's visit to Marigold's without some of their marvelous baked goods. The service was attentive and warm. I always appreciate the white table cloths and cloth napkins. It adds a bit of elegance to the meal! From the minute we walked in, the entire staff was attentive and on point. We were there to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our waiter, Riley, was amazing. He brought out complimentary champagne and a caprese salad to help us celebrate. We then ordered the lobster bites, followed by the filet mignon with the mushroom Marsala sauce (I had my sauce on the side), garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, and topped off our meal with a piece of double chocolate mousse cake. Last year we went to marigolds for our 40th. I had the Tuesday special of prime rib. It was so tough I kept chewing and chewing. Finally gave up and took it home to the pups. Last week we had our 41st and decided to go to a happy hour at marigolds. It was loud, expensive - $10 for two egg rolls, $10 for 5 small meatballs etc. then to add insult to injury they charge a hospitality fee. Seriously? We won't be back read more

The food was delicious, and the service was very good. I had a salad. I think they called it Julie's salad. Basically a spinach salad with apples and pears and some kind of cheese. Delicious. I was disappointed by my recent visit to this restaurant. Despite arriving before another couple, I was overlooked while they were promptly served. The lack of acknowledgement made me feel invisible, which is not something I've experienced at the other location. However, I want to commend the waiter-possibly a trainee or trainer-who noticed the situation and stepped in to assist me (I was picking up some croissants). His professionalism and attentiveness were appreciated and helped salvage an otherwise disheartening experience. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and ensures all guest are treated with equal respect and attention regardless of gender or ethnicity.
