She didn't put anything between my toes to avoid the polish rubbing off and onto another toe, she didn't put on a base coat before applying gel polish, and she very vigorously buffed away the sides of my feet (not the heel or ball of my foot- she was distracted talking to her friend). Then when it came to doing a 5 minute foot massage, she decided half way through that she was over it and just put pressure on my toes, bending them toward the floor to stretch them and continued talking to the tech next to her. I'd like to say that was the end of the experience, but it wasn't. The guy that did my manicure was probably new. He filed off the topcoat with his machine on high speed and burned my nail plate, then didn't really know what steps to do the service in. By the time he had me soak my nails in water, the bowl was already cold. He was friendly and tried to make sure I was happy at each step but honestly i was so disappointed with how my pedicure was going, i just wanted to leave. I told the person at check out that I was unhappy with the service and explained to him why. The guy wanted me to sit down so that someone could redo it - which is crazy to ask someone to do when they just spent an hour and a half to leave with half-assed nails. No discount offered, so I had to pay $110 for nails that I wasn't even happy with. Which reminds me, i guess they raised the prices on some of their services. A woman who left before me asked why her bill was more than before and they explained that the service she usually got was raised in price (they didn't tell her that before she sat down for her service). And to top it all off, the new guy at the front desk wearing the top that said ___ Atelier thought it was funny to joke around and pretend to spray the disinfectant spray into one of the tech's drinks when she was asking him to leave her alone. What a horrible time. If you still choose to go here after this review, please only go to see Nancy or Jenna. They are the only two techs have given me a beautiful set of nails.

I had one complimentary new customer wax and after it was done I gave them my credit card and attempted to sign up for a membership. I cancelled this membership as soon as I was told they couldn't provide me with a receipt. Since then they have charged me $180 on my credit card without my consent. I have called consistently to rectify this with the company directly but there is never a manager available and the call centers can only email someone to call you back. After 36 days of calling the marina del rey locations phone , I have finally spoken with their manager or owner Ashely. She is a dense woman who does not understand business or the basics of a vendor providing a customer with a receipt of payment. (I now understand where their hapless business acumen is coming from as I have just spoken with the head dummy and boy is she terrible.) I have had to call my credit card to have my money refunded and block them from using my credit card. If you do need to go here, pay cash and do not give them your credit card, as they will use it arbitrary without your consent.
