I used to like shopping here at lot when it first opened. Friendly and helpful workers, and well stocked fresh produce items. In the past few months, the service quality has declined significantly. I used to get great help from the produce area. Not anymore. Now, they acted like I was a bother when I asked for a simple price check (because the price sign was missing). If they prefer to chitchatting among them, rather than helping a paying customers, then, please go get another job. Do not work in a supermarket. Quality of the produce, especially the fresh vegetable section, has also declined drastically. It used to be on par Whole Foods fresh produce section. Not anymore. I had stopped shopping there in recent months. Mariano's magic is gone at this location. That's a shame. I used to look forward to my grocery shopping there. This location gives you Aldi attitude at Whole Foods price. Y'all remember how Dominick's gone under, not too long ago? read more

I love Marianos. I am thrilled they opened a store in my area. If you have a question or an issue someone is always there to help you. Marianos. Thank you for making my grocery shopping a breeze read more

Third time in a row they left out an entire bag of groceries. The receipt says 5 bags, the label on the bags say 4. They obviously have zero training for employees and few processes. Nobody at Click List bothers to apologize. I even called the store manager and she didn't really care and never apologized nor offered a solution. So I'm off to find another grocery store. Customer service is all the have to offer, and they offer none. This type of apathy starts at the top. read more

Went there on 10.31. Bought asssorted pre cut fruit for 5.99 Cantaloupe and honey dew unripe/inedible. Also bought blue berries that had a white film on them that would not come off from washing. Are they trying to kill me with pesticides? How can they pre package fruit that is awful. These folks are not novices ( or are they?) This is common sense stuff that should never arise. Why are we even having this conversation. It kills me to say but I will go to a place that is much more money like Heinens/ Sunset. At least they care about their service and the health of their customers. I would expect better produce from a third world country read more

The store has spacious parking and I did not have a hard time parking either, choosing where to park. I went to the store and it was so busy, but nonetheless, it was still good since the store is huge and spacious, so there was no real hassle at all even if it was busy, aside from the long lines at the checkout. The tile is also clean, and pretty much all of the selections are either fully stocked or well stocked. Every department has a good selection of goodies. Their produce is fresh and there are a variety of options, including unique ones, which are not really much, but still, it is still a good thing to be able to buy special or unique ones. The bakery and meat department of the store are also fresh and of good quality. I did not buy much, but all in all, I was satisfied with everything I bought. As I said, their checkout has a long line, so there was a little wait. I must say that the experience I had in this grocery store was OK. The prices are reasonable, and the products are good. Service is somehow good too. read more

One of my favorite grocery stores! Love that I can grab a draft beer or a glass of wine from Nob's bar to sip on while I shop after a long day. Todd's BBQ has excellent food, and the gelato and coffee bar has excellent breakfast sandwiches for a very reasonable price. The soup bar has an impressive selection, as does the prepared food bar. My favorite aspect of this store is that you can pick out anything from the meat or seafood counters and they will grill or steam it for you (no charge) to enjoy at the dining tables in the front of the store, or take it home with you. I cook so much less now that I discovered this service they offer, because that means less dishes and the meal is on the table quicker. One thing I don't care for is the frozen section of the store. I'm not exactly sure why, but I just don't like it. read more

The scariest, weirdest, funniest, yummiest, most interesting and... ...pleasant experience. Thank you Dean and Maurice for your 5+ customer service tonight. Our family is complicated. We never agree on what to eat. My hubby is a vegetarian, and we're not, and tonight everyone wanted something different for dinner. It was annoying madness! After searching for a restaurant to go to, I suggested the new Mariano's since we'd been wanting to check it out anyway. We love Mariano's hot prepared foods, so what a great way for us all to pick our own dinner. When we walked in we realized it was 10 minutes to close. Ugh. I dreaded checking out the hot food bar. I imagined it to be filled with the leftover remains from the day and dry. Nope, everything was steaming and full. I scooped up some pot roast and veggies, some fried chicken for the boys, and my hubby even grabbed a pre-packaged slab of Todds BBQ ribs for the boys...because secretly I think he wished he could eat them. Oh, almost forgot the super moist chocolate cupcakes ($2 each). Super excited about the smorgasbord we ended up with, when we got home we dove into the ribs and they were amazing...but then...my son noticed his rib slab was REALLY pink inside, and it was. I don't eat ribs often, and I have to admit I was terrified that we had been eating raw meat and was convinced we were all going to end up in the hospital. I immediately called the store. I first chatted with Dean, and he actually gave me his personal phone number and I texted him a photo of my son's really red ribs. Immediately after he received the text I received a call from Maurice, who assured me that the ribs had been cooked for 2.5 hours and were perfectly safe to eat. By this time though, we were all completely freaked out and scared to eat them. However, Maurice was so confident they were fine (and his favorite) that he wanted to personally deliver more to me, but they just sold the last container. He begged me to come in for a refund on Monday or to give me another slab. Again, he assured me they were fine. After so much convincing and the tempting aroma, we took a few more bites...and then a few more and so on. Bottom line: We didn't get sick. Truth is, Todds BBQ ribs are really tasty! I won't be returning for a refund since we ended up finishing most of them. Service beyond amazing here! read more

Can't go wrong shopping here...The freshest food and best organic variety in the city, not inexpensive place to make groceries. Top notch produce. The meat counter is just beautiful. Organics are a pleasure here, and the whole body toiletries department has a lot of little treasures in skin care. Also go for the salad bar. The prices are very competitive compared to other stores for better products. This is my most favorite location in and around the city! Everything about this place is amazing! This is a MUST for any grocery experience! All of the healthy food is absolutely AMAZING! They deserve 5stars.Yes!I can't wait to go back again! read more

This review is specifically for the WINE BAR at this location. I was anticipating having a great experience based on previous encounters with great customer service at all Mariano's stores. Stopped by for a quick after-work drink with coworkers at the wine bar. I waited for over 10 minutes and finally went to a cash register to ask where the bartender was. The missing bartender finally returned & instead of asking the new customer what they wanted, he asked the group at the bar if he could get them another round of beers. Apparently, pouring beer was also a challenge, because one of the customers on my side of the bar, went behind the bar to draw the beers. Bartender said "you don't see this" to which I replied, "it's not my liquor license to lose." Keep in mind, I STILL have not been asked what I want to drink. Getting really impatient now and level of snarkyness rising... I asked for a glass of white wine which the bartender was initially unable to locate. When he found it, there was not enough for a complete pour. Ok fine. Usually not a big deal when you're at a BAR they just reach open another bottle. However in this case the bartender had to go to the wine department and ask the manager for another bottle of wine. I may be unreasonable, but I would expect that more than one bottle of wine be kept at a WINE bar. Meanwhile, another 5-plus minutes go by during which I am listening to one of the women next to me complain as she's drinking her third beer, that she can't get her Prozac filled for more than 90 days and what a struggle it was. (Although I can understand why working at Astellas would drive you to drink and need Prozac). Bartender finally returns with a WARM bottle of white wine and pours it. My friends arrive one of who wants a glass of white wine and 1 receives another glass of warm white wine.... I just shook my head and said don't ask there are definitely issues here. Mariano's please stock your bar appropriately and train your staff!!! You are only dispensing beer and wine, how difficult can it be? There may be certain hours you need to have two people at the bar not one. You have a gold mine of potential customers there with Astellas being next door. Don't blow it. This experience was definitely not up to Mariano's standards. read more

Mariano's - North Shore problem: Drinking beer & complaining you can't get your Prozac refilled for more than 90 days. - Grocery Near Me - Northbrook, Illinois

This marianos is like WhOAAAAAHHH!! Huge. Amazing service. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help. Now, this location has everything, and I mean everything. Even this really rare candy I had in Rome. They have it in their candy aisle. Pure joy and happiness and 1000 calories for mere $4.99. Now this place has a coffee bar, gelato stand, fried chicken, hot bar (amazing mac and cheese), trail mix bar, olive bar, salad bar, cheese shop, booze shop with a huge walk in cooler, sushi, oyster bar, guacamole bar, make yourself a healthy smoothie bar, veggie bar, pizza, sandwiches and I am probably forgetting a few. Granted if you want it, they probably have it. Very nice deli area, amazing smocked salmon dip, fish, meat, bakery, flowers, etc. Its not much more expensive then jewel, in reality if you are watching for sale items, its probably cheaper. The produce section looks much nicer and fresher. I am a fan. read more

My go to grocery store. With it's proximity to LA Fitness, this grocery is perfect for me to swing by after the gym. They have a great deli and meat department with a good variety of items. Their prices are on par with other stores and most of the time cheaper. Customer service is great and they send you coupons in the mail every few months. This is a Kroger store brand, so if you have shopped at Smiths, it's essentially the same thing. My only complaint is that sometimes the only registers that are open are the self kiosks.. which is a pain to deal with when you have a large amount of groceries, lately they have had 1 register open though. read more

I like a lot about this new location but there are also some negatives I noted. First the likes - the coffee bar is sick with the hardware, the Sci lab beaker brew set is cool to look at. The serious bean roaster. The cheese cellar, the wine bar, the oyster bar, the free samples, the list goes on and on. Pretty overwhelming if you walk in hungry. Now for the negs - location is awkward at best, tucked in with a ton of other new additions behind Astellas. Parking can be tricky. Overall consumer mix seems to be just that, more of a mix from the usual northshore crowd you come to know and expect, a few grumps were noted, along with some me firsts, and some outta my ways, you get the point. No one coming to a cluster of this magnitude should be in a hurry. An additional neg noted was the customer service, at the coffee bar especially, it just seemed a bit distracted and disconnected. I hear this is the newest, the largest and even warranted flying advertisement the kind that trails behind a plane at the beach. Glad to have it but truth be told, I will probably be hitting the one on skokie when it opens because I can walk to it. read more

Cleaner store than other Mariano's locations like Glenview or Harwood Heights. Restrooms are clean and anti bacterial soap is filled outside the doors. This location is how a Mariano's is supposed to look and operate. Unfortunately Kroger will at some point destroy this location just as it has with others. Shippers filled with product make the aisles difficult to navigate through. Too many self checkouts and not enough cashiers. read more

This store is amazing, like most Mariano's. The prices are like Wal-Mart but the quality is like Whole Foods. This Mariano's has the worst service in their meat market. The gentleman that cooks will not give you the time of day. The gentleman with the dark hair just talks on his phone. The other gentleman speaks another language to you that is not English. They are the worst employees I have ever run across. Very disappointed! Where is the meat mgr geo? I've gone to a few stores and I've found them to be very nice, today I finally went to this one to see how it was. Itv was nice and clean in there got what I needed. And when I went to the register is where they get the 5 stars from. I'm disabled and generally bad my own stuff because place make them to heavy or over fill and I can't carry it. Or the leave the milk outside a bag which I than have to make multiple trips. Today I was blown away when the cashier asked if I washed the milk bagged, I told them yes. And thanked them and explained how I'm so used to having to leave a bag in the car to carry it with. Even the person bagging did exceptional work. None of my bags were to heavy, and one thing which drives me crazy is when I buy sushi abs the peyote just toss it in a bag and it gets smashed or gals apart because they put it on its side, or smash your bread. Here everything was perfectly bagged without saying a word I was very impressed. The only thing I wish was that there was a cart corral closer to the handicapped spots read more

Excellent facility, rows of well stocked fresh produces and imported wines & cheeses, what you wouldn't like about this place? The day before Thanksgiving Day, my husband & I decided to apply for Mariano's membership card to take advantage of great sales. Only one person at the customer service counter and he is answering multiple lines of phone calls and customers in queue. Obviously, he wad under stress and needed help but that never came while we are in line for about 5 - 10 minutes. I can hear him quietly swearing while he is in/out of the office and answering multiple phone calls. I was thinking this store has a problem with management and employee training while I was staring at the pictures of store Manger and Dorector proudly smiling. read more

Clearly this place has gone downhill in the last couple years. Shelves are often under stocked, very few people in the store to help find things, produce is often not fresh, much of the produce is mislabeled or un labeled at all , salad bar is not labeled or mislabeled also so you have to guess what is in there. The only reason I go is that it is close to where I live. read more

When Kroger bought out Mariano's, this place fell off a cliff. It used to be a nice grocery store with high-quality prepared items, produce, and meats. Employees were friendly and the food court had lots of great options for lunch. Now, every time I go they're out of multiple items that I'm looking for, I constantly have to pick through expired items on the shelves, and the produce and meats are mediocre on good days. Just look at the reviews, great early on and bad recently. It's not a coincidence. Kroger destroyed the Mariano's brand. read more

This store is absolutely amazing. I always leave extremely happy & satisfied with the experience. This is the new lunch spot for Allstaters... our on-campus cafe is the worst (Sodexo) and we are thrilled we have a fast, convenient, quality option for lunch now! This market just tires me out. First, you have to find it. There is a small sign on Willow, looks like it was hammered into the ground like an "open house" sign. I turned in, but still flew right past the place and had to do a U turn. Once in, the place is more enormous than any of the other Mariano's around. I turned right towards the cafe, which was confusing. There were a bunch of food stands right in front of it, then a man standing about 5 ft in front of where you pick up your coffee. I proceed to tell him I'd like a cold brew coffee, he says he's a cashier for "that area" over on the other side. He directed me to the coffee order taker. I had heard about their "Bella cupcakes". So while I'm waiting for the coffee, I see cupcakes across the aisle. I stop there next, he's never heard of Bella cupcakes. So I purchased a different one from him. I walked about 10 yards away, and there is yet another bakery area which does indeed have the little Bella cupcakes. Geesh! I needed a few regular items, decided it wasn't worth the 5K walk around the store to seek out. read more

Wide array of things. I liked all the food bars. Inefficient check out at the food bar. Unfriendly oyster bar manager. Best Mariano's I've ever been to. Slow check outs, semi-useful Mariano's card, some jacked up prices, and lack of available salespeople give this place a 4 star rating. read more

WOW! Visiting from Los Angeles we found Mariano,s. What a great place. We only wish we had someplace this incredible! read more

Honestly we stopped regularly coming to this Mariano's several months ago. We got tired of seeing expired dairy products and check out staff and managers who are socializing while there's a huge line of people at the only check out lane open. I've sent requests to Mariano's corporate which have gone unanswered, unless it really takes them a year to know if they sell baklava? The last straw is their rude and uncommunicative Pharmacy who closed without filling my husband's prescription. I go out of my way not to shop there. Even though Mariano's is close by, I much prefer Jewel on Pfingsten. I had such high hopes for its success. Shopping at this Mariano's is a hassle and aggravating. Their prices are not current and/or are not displayed for many items, they're overpriced on many items, their "sale" prices are not deep enough, they don't carry a lot of the brans I like, checkout is a long wait as there is generally only one cashier and one lane open at a time, the store is never busy which makes me think that their produce, meat, salad bar, etc. may not be fresh. because of the lack of turnover, and the store is overbuilt and under utilized and takes too long to get around. On the positive side, I do applaud them for hiring mentally challenged young adults. read more

Management went down hill hard when they opened too many stores. Opening the 1st and only mariano in Arlington Heights, we had a collection of the best of the best.... Then 42 other locations opened and they took all the great managers and left arlington to cocka. Thanks Ken szymanski read more

This may be the worst trained Mariano's in the entire company. The cashiers could careless if you are there and express zero sympathy for when their machine breaks or if the items are ringing up at a different price than what is posted on the shelves. Speaking of pricing it's rare to find an item in the meat or pet food section that is marked correctly. I shouldn't have to study the bar code to make sure what's on the shelve is marked correctly. I could complain in the store but clearly those people don't care either and nothing will change. I love going to self check out but not when I have more than 15 items. I'd love it if they hired someone to train everyone in this store. read more

I've been hearing about this store for a long time now. The locals have been raving about it since it opened. When I visited for the first time, I was impressed with the large selection. What a great convenience! I will say though, that the lighting in the store was weird. I found it kind of depressing. I'm not sure why they made that choice. Curse you, Mariano's!! Specifically, this gianormous Mecca of grocery perfection.... With your colossal butchers selection of grass-fed, organic, natural meats. Your maze of magnificent market bounty, all the colors of crisp veggies and ripened fruit, sends me on a kaleidoscopic whirlwind, that ends in a cart full of bliss. How will I ever achieve a visit without spending over one hundred dollars, for (yes) one person?! I don't live next door, though, with that nice new apartment complex beside it, I certainly can't guarantee the permanency of that statement. That means I drive here. Passing multiple grocers along the way, including another Mariano's location. It is worth every mile. This is the Mariano's that all the other Mariano's dream of being. It's the only one in the area truly built from the ground up, and with no expense spared. There's a glass cheese cave, centered between the bakery, the nuttery (I'm not sure what it's actually called, but it's got everything nut/seed/other available bulk style) and the deli. It's to the left of that savory olive bar, which pairs quite nicely with many of the cheeses it houses. All kinds of cheese. AND, provided you're brave enough to face the masses, they have free samples on the weekends. This is actually a well implemented trap. It's disguised as a genuinely kind gesture, but it's that first taste that has you hooked, like a junkie to a bad habit. Then the cheese (all of the cheese) ends up in your cart, and sends you, giddy, through the aisles trying to pair them with appropriately, ridiculously overpriced crackers. But then you remember.... These crackers, that are still overpriced, (but delicious) are a fraction of what Whole Foods would charge for the same damn thing. This flashback often results in you purchasing in quantity, rather than getting one, and actually saving money, We've covered meat and cheese, and produce, now on to the FISH! This location may very well have a helicopter pad located on top of it, that delivers special shipments of fresh caught seafood. Other than specialty seafood joints, I've never seen such an array of options available, in every variety, as fresh as they do here. Chilean Sea Bass is one of my favorites, and they often run specials on it! (See- they lure me in, and I canny help myself!) Of course this means they also have an unparalleled selection of, yes, ice-cream. If you thought I had a cheese problem (I do), then you'll really start to feel sorry for me when you begin to understand my insatiable obsession with organic ice-cream. They have brands and flavors other stores haven't even heard of- and that means you MUST try them. I've slowly been making my way though the varieties, and I'd be lying if I said it was one pint at a time. McConnels Icecream= game changing Their Churros Con Leche flavor = life changing. Worthy of worship. So you see, I really should consider a part time job just to offset the budget deficit I create with each visit. But then I realize, I'd have no time to enjoy all the deliciousness that I bring home. So keep it up, Mariano's. There's so much more I could say, but it's time to eat again! read more
