Really disappointed. I ordered 4 chicken tacos, and unfortunately the taco shells were a mess. They tasted like store-bought shells rather than fresh, fried tortillas, and several were either cracked, ripped, or completely soggy. And at four dollars taco I think that's pretty sad regardless if their store-bought taco shells or not I live literally around the corner, so it took me less than 3 minutes to get home. Within about 5 minutes of picking up my order, I took one bite and the entire taco basically fell apart all over the place. I picked up another one thinking maybe it was just that taco, but that shell was completely ripped too. I honestly expected the tacos to have fresh, crispy shells, especially from a local Mexican restaurant. Instead, I couldn't even eat them without everything falling apart. Maria's potato salad has been a family favorite for a long time so good you can't stop eating it. Today it was good but something was missing we can't figure it out. Please don't change the recipe we know and have loved for several years. This has always been the best even better than Juan Polo. It's good but we want Maria's potato salad. Considering I come here at least 3-4 times a month, it's sad I won't be returning. When I was handed my burritos they were just on a plate inside a bad so they're already falling apart. I also noticed how small the bean and cheese burrito was, size of a Taco Bell burrito, I've never had this problem here before. I asked the lady and she said it's because it's only bean and cheese, makes no sense since they've always been about the same size as the regular burrito. Then I only received 3 little salsas and when I asked for more she said I need to pay. Usually you get the big salsa per item you order and she gave an attitude when I asked about it. To start, Maria Pollo was a Juan Pollo at one time. The menu looked the same, the prices were similar. Unfortunately, the food, in my opinion was not as good. I really wanted it to be great because it's much closer to me than Juan Pollo. The chicken, while very tasty, was small, dry, and seemingly overlooked. The beans were ok, the potato salad was very good, the rice was a bit bland. We asked for corn tortillas, but found that we had received flour tortillas when we took them out at home. This place is awesome! It's cleaner now that Maria pollo owns it, when it was Juan pollo it was nasty inside. The food is GREAAT!!! The staff are friendly, small family business trying to make it in corporate America and I'm glad they are just down the street. They have daily specials including weekend specials and their whole chickens are the price as stater bros but they will break it down for you so you don't have to. Seriously don't skip this place. Chicken and burritos are great, I really enjoyed the fact that the burritos have cheese. The chicken was tasty and the side dishes were too. I would rather come here than go to a big name franchise that sells mentally unstable chicken. That being said I have to knock it down by a lot because the customer service really needs improvement. When I go out to eat I or my wife don't need to be treated as if we are asking for a favor when I'm opting to spend my money there. I have notice several customers complain about the customer service and mentioned that the young man that works here also gave them an unpleasant experience. I have to agree with them. If you don't mind eating at a place that serves your chicken with a little attitude this is a spot. I rather be treated like a customer than somebody that's just in the way of an employees leisure time. Will I come back? Maybe. Take note, listen to your customers complaints. If several customers have had a terrible customer service experience there's probably many more that haven't expressed it online. Fix the Problem talk to your employees and correct it before you start losing customers over bad experiences. It's a shame because I could have easily given you four stars but when I do reviews of customer service is horrible I automatically knock it off by two points. read more
