Water carafe had hair floating in it (bottom), French toast and oe eggs had grease pooled in the middle of the plate. Sausage gravy was like milk with small chunks of Sausage in it. No apologizing for the service or food quality. This was the 3rd time I have been there and had nothing but bad food and service every time! Do yourself a favor and find a different place to eat! read more

Really good breakfast and they were able to quickly accommodate our group of 12. The food was fresh very tasty and hot. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. My family stopped here thinking that it would be a nice restaurant to have breakfast at on Saturday morning. Walking in they would not seat us till every member of the family was in the restaurant. We were seated and it took them 20 min to get us water and coffee. The waitress was a very rude and seemed annoyed by us. After ordering food we waited another 45 min. Food was ok but services was terrible. read more

There was a change in ownership December 2024 and it is now called Marge's Diner. Service was great and food hot and tasty. We would definitely go back. read more

If you want a typical Midwest diner for breakfast and lunch with decent, rib-sticking food, not fancy but homey atmosphere and friendly service, then stop at Betty's when you are near Ottertail Lake. We stopped on a hellaciously rainy Monday in June, so we're seated right away and our food came within 5 minutes. We had the special of the day roast beef manhattan sandwich with perfectly soft white bread and mashed potatoes. A tad salty but beef was tender and nice thick slices. The chicken salad with grapes and dill sauce with toasted cranberry wild rice bread (not sweet) was excellent. Finished it off with not-to-be missed pies: strawberry rhubarb and county fair (a chocolate chip toll house like concoction with butterscotch chips; very rich but tasty. Came to $22 without drinks, so pretty reasonable prices. read more

We came to Bettys Pantry while on vacation with our two boys and we loved every minute of this restaurant. The portions are huge, the price is right, and the flavor is DELICIOUS! We loved it so much we came back a second time the very next day. Biscuits and gravy were so good and the bacon is on another level! I had the avocado eggs Benedict and it was so delicious read more

Great food, great service, a must visit for breakfasts! You will be happy you chose Betty's!!

Food is good with very fair prices. Little has changed at Betty's since we first discovered it 20+ years ago. Many options on the menu, we particularly like breakfast. Open daily in the summer months. The wait staff is excellent, and service is quick. Don't be discouraged by the line of people on a Sunday morning, take it as a sign that you've found a great spot. read more

I stopped in for lunch while taking a break from fishing . There were a total of 3 people in the diner and the service was terrible. I ordered the monster burger and fries I figured it's hard to mess up a burger. I was wrong the meat had a bad taste to it and my fries were mushy and undercooked. I would have complained but I didn't see the surly waitress again until she brought my check without a thank you or how was your food ( uneaten ). I will pack a lunch next summer when I go on my annual fishing trip to Minnesota. read more

Best breakfast around. All of the staff are very helpful, friendly people. Vanassa is the owner and a true community supporter!

So thankful we found this gem of a breakfast place, just wished we would have found it sooner, we would have gone there each day we were up in the area. I was up there with my family for a golf weekend; we had a party of 8 which could have been a long wait but we got lucky that there was a table available. The waitress we had was absolutely wonderful; talked to everyone even the kids which they appreciated. She was genuinely excited about the menu and her recommendations did not disappoint! We shared a ginormous caramel roll and all I have to say about that was WOW! Totally recommend that! The many flavors of French toast were the big hit of the table. The portions were huge and our plans to have pie for dessert were thwarted because everything else was so tasty and filling. Looking forward to when we can visit again! read more

No modifications allowed for any items. I wanted chocolate chips added to pancakes and they told me that would only happen if I was 5 years old. (Seriously?) Isn't it their job to make me food that I order, and then I pay them for it? Bad customer service Betty, and mediocre food. read more

Good food and they were flexible with my Requests. Clean and very small town traditional cafe!

Updating my review after 2nd visit. Less than stellar experience. Waited an hour for food and got the most unfriendly service. We were sat in a corner and couldn't even move our chairs with tables all around us. Very claustrophobic. Was met with a harsh stare when I asked how big the biscuits were in response to being asked how many I wanted. Food was just ok- got biscuits and gravy- was refrigerated canned grands- not what I expect at a local diner. read more

Great service, great pastries and its cute as well! I'd come back tomorrow if I wasn't driving through.

Huge portions, fun Mom and Pop place for a small town. No good gluten free options, but they tried to accommodate us as best they could. read more

Everything was perfect! We were seated immediately, and got our coffee right away. Our server was very pleasant as well! We had 5 for breakfast, 3 ordered the Awesome Breakfast, and the other 2 had one egg, hash browns and toast. The food was awesome. Everything came out at the same time, hot and delicious. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and hash browns crisp and super hot. Would recommend to anyone, worth the drive to Ottertail any day! read more

Family owned and operated for multiple generations. This local diner is a must when visiting the Ottertail Lake area. The food is very good, service is efficient and kind, and prices are more than reasonable. Many have said the potato pancakes are the best, but i have not tried them. Make sure to bring cash or a check book as they do not accept debit or credit cards. read more

The best breakfast place to go to, friendly staff, great service, old school restaurant which is worth the tri

I gave Betty's a second shot this morning and I was just as disappointed. Three weeks ago I stopped by with some of my family and ordered the eggs Benedict. It was just ok. The coffee was watered down and disgusting. All in all not terribly impressed for my first visit in three years. Today our waitress was rather rude and snippy. The kitchen doesn't take requests (I like my hashbrowns extra crunchy) and our waitress just said "they are only fried one one side" then turned and left. The coffee was still watered down and disgusting. The place was packed and we waited quite a while for our omelets. The hasbrowns and omelet tasted pretty good but it doesn't really make up for the rest. Next time I head to the lake I won't be stopping back. read more

Betty's Pantry in Ottertail is a wonderful surprise! Good food and unbelievable prices. An old-fashioned eatery that one rarely finds amidst all the chains. Friendly help, a family atmosphere, homemade baked goods. A real gem in Minnesota's glacial lakes region. Should be on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." (Note: Betty doesn't accept credit cards to keep her prices low, but she does have an ATM machine just outside the front door.) read more
