A good bar and grill restaurant with a friendly staff. We stopped here on our way to Glacier Park, Montana. I had the Walleye fish and chips, which had a garlic batter with house made tartar sauce. Everything was perfectly seasoned. I did not take a picture. I am writing this review, because it is the best fish fry I have ever had and I have had a lot of them being from Wisconsin. This is a must try for my fish fry lovers out there.

The service was awful. How many times does a waiter need to ask for your order?!?! In addition her whole section was full of dirty tables. People would leave and the table would just stay that way... The food is awful!!! I got the Buffalo chicken salad and the chicken was raw! I got extremely sick ! I told the waitress and she took it and never came back. She came back 30 minutes later to our group to let us know that the salad was taken off so we wouldn't pay for it. I said I hope so you never asked how to even make it better or if you could get me anything. Instead the waitresses wanted to tell me that all the chicken wings where fully cooked!!!! I didn't have chicken winds I had fried chicken!!! We were a group of 5 and non of us will be back!!! It was so bad!!! Also the guy running the grill has a pubic beard!!! Yuck all in your ground up meat!! I give this place 6-8 months left and it will soon be shutting there doors it's so dirty.

The serving sizes here are very generous so don't let the prices scare you off. If you're a mortal with a typical appetite, you may need to share a dish with your bestie or partner else you'll definitely have leftovers! We had the cup of turkey with wild rice soup. It was flavorful and perfectly balanced with a heaping scoop of ingredients with every spoonful. The Willy Melt was a legend of a sandwich. I was blown away by the layers of action found with this item. Its a good beef patty with a perfect sear some melty cheese, thousand island, sauteed onions, and crumbled bacon all built between delightfully toasted slices of pumpernickel bread. Our waitress was attentive, proactive, and always checking to see if we needed anything - something that seems to disappearing in restaurants these days. We came hungry, left busting at the seams. It was a great experience.

We came in around 5:30 on a Friday and had no wait at all. Our server was excellent! They were very quick, attentive, and genuinely kind. Service was definitely the highlight. Food was more hit-or-miss. I had the Prime Rib Cheesesteak sandwich and it was just okay. The bread was pretty underwhelming, toppings were light, and there was barely any prime rib in there. The jalapeño cream cheese ended up being the saving grace flavor-wise. The fresh fruit on the side was disappointing too because they were tiny pieces and all kind of wilted. Overall, it's a nice place with great service and a fun interior, but the food didn't quite live up to the rest.

Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointing experience at what is normally a stellar restaurant. We called ahead and made a reservation for five people. When we arrived, we were told they could "squeeze us" into a four-person booth and place a chair at the end. It immediately brought to mind the famous Seinfeld joke about knowing how to take a reservation, but not how to actually hold one. Mother's Day was the entire reason we chose to dine out, making it a special occasion for our family. Once we received the menus, we realized the restaurant had significantly limited the offerings, and our mother's favorite dish had been removed. When we asked if it was still available, the server responded, "We didn't want to burden the kitchen tonight." That answer was especially disappointing given the occasion and the expectations we've come to have for this restaurant. To make matters worse, the service -- which is usually one of the highlights of dining here -- felt awkward, inattentive, and well below the standard we've experienced in the past. As we were leaving, our mother quietly commented that it might be time for our family to find a new regular dinner spot. That was honestly the most disappointing part of the evening.

We were traveling and our anniversary was while we were in Alexandria. We wanted something special, and a french dinner seemed cool. But wait. They had a "chef's table" as well. Not an everyday thing, and not inexpensive, but - a chef's table in Alexandria Minnesota? We were totally there. A five course meal, wines accompanying, and it was totally delightful. We often blog our travels, and we wrote pages about this meal. Kudos to Matthew and Amber!
