Stopped in 3 days ago and wow worst service ever. Moody waitress, cranky customers and lots of screaming children. 30 minutes to get two Bloody Caesars. Took a full hour to get our one breakfast skillet. Once we got our skillet it had obviously been sitting out forever. Eggs were all hard potatoes not even remotely warm. It was a huge letdown because the menu made it sound great however it was super disappointing. $63 was a total waste. read more

We've patronized this place since its opening and I applaud them for being consistent on one thing. The service! It's amazingly terrible. Long wait times on food, moody bartenders and just last week NO bartender. We sat at the bar and nobody came our way to serve. It was seat yourself around 1pm on a Sunday, roughly 3 tables occupied. We waited and waited and eventually walked out. They saw us leave too. This place needs new management. We ate outside on the patio great view, great waitress. Five of us went to eat. 2 salads 3 burgers. All the burgers were over cooked to the point of dryness. Which means you need condiments to help get it down. At $18 for a burger I would first expect it to be done right. But even more annoying was the off brand ketchup. High Fructose Corn Syrup is the 2nd Ingredient on the label. If Willy's is willing to use cheap ketchup at customers tables what cheep ingredients are they using in the kitchen. read more

We have been coming here for 8+ years. Six years ago, I left a poor review based on service, food, ingredients, and overall experience. Today, they won me back! Tegan was a really great server. Food was great, beer was cold, service was wonderful, ambiance was incredible, and live music. I think they worked out some kinks and under-staffing issues. Definitely a fave when we are in the area. Went early at 5 pm to have Prime Rib, we both ordered it rare, it came medium, looks like they just cut it from the end of the roast instead from the center where the rare meat is, flavor was only fair, it was tender though. Should have sent it back but we were in a hurry to meet friends . Oh the vegetables it came with were very good, the mashed potato's were bland. Still in the area if you want great Prime Rib the places to go to are, Stevellies and Stubs, both in Battle Lake. read more

Lunch during week of July 9, 2019: 3 Stars for good service, BUT 2 Stars for quality of food. I understand there was a fire in their kitchen during the last week of June and they were now cooking in a "mobile kitchen" out back. The lovely sunny day was wonderful for patio seating. Server was great! I ordered the Walleye Egg Rolls. When delivered, there were 3 large deep-fried (unevenly so) egg rolls in a paper-lined plastic basket. All the ingredients in the filling were tasty and creative (there were even ingredients inside that were not mentioned on the menu). However, 'walleye' was non-existent. Read this again: the Walleye Egg Roll appetizer proved to have (in just 1 of the egg rolls) only one, small thin sliver of a piece of fish in it. Overpriced given quality of food. read more

We gave Willy T's the benefit of the doubt, but the other reviews are spot-on: it took us close to two hours, and I'm seriously questioning just what they had our waitress doing (other than taking orders and running food). After we arrived, the waitress promptly took our order. However, it took almost 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive, another 15 for the app, and then another 15 to get food. Eating took about 20 minutes, and about 25 minutes after we were done we finally walked out the door. As for the food, we all had the walleye which came with a sauce that didn't really complement the fish and made it soggy - but without which, left the fish extremely bland. I also had the kale salad which while fresh, had dressing that was less poppyseed and more floral hand lotion. We were so disappointed with the food at this restaurant. There were 7 of us and the restaurant was not busy. I ordered bone-in wings with blue cheese and they brought me boneless wings with ranch. The little girl at our table ordered a grill cheese sandwich and the cheese wasn't melted. They took it back and when they return with the sandwich the cheese still wasn't melted. It still had the wrapping marks on the cheese. Someone else order the salmon with risotto. She said the salmon tasted fine. The risotto was made with white rice and milk. It looked like watery rice. Risotto is made with Arborio Italian-style rice. Other people's meals were blah. They did comp the grill cheese. I was expecting a higher standard since the hotel was amazing! read more

This restaurant is part of the Thumper Pond Resort (golf, water park). The menu consists mostly of sandwiches, but does include a selection of other entrees - pizza, steak, fish, etc. I decided on a sandwich and had a difficult time choosing between one of the 8 or so burgers and a good dozen others. I went with the Skillet burger which has onions, peppers, and pepperjack. What surprised me was that it actually arrived on a sizzling skillet much like you would see when ordering fajitas. Nice touch. The burger was good and the fries were average. Some other sandwich options were Walleye, Sicilian, steak, BBQ brisket/pork/sausage, plus many more. The service was friendly and fast. The beer selection was good. The decor is a lodge look with log/brick and fireplaces. read more

We were here for the first time in August. I'm giving it a 4/5 just because the waitstaff can be slow. The food was great! I ordered the Walleye sandwich. It was huge! I ordered it fried and my in-law ordered it sautéed. I never have had fresh Walleye before and I loved it. The portions are so big I ended up eating the fish but not the bread. Sides were good. I had the sweet potato waffle fries. Will return next time I'm on Ottertail! read more

Wow ok have you been there Lately??? Well my family has had a lake home we visit now for over 20+ years. All the Ottertail eatablishments have had their highs and lows! Right now WillyTs which is connected to beautiful Thumper Pond golf course and water park*~ is Amazing! Great Food and Vast Menu! Great pricing and huge portions! Up north log atmosphere inside with Ample seating and huge bar with TVs! (Oh and the air is ON ... just saying) ... also Great patios facing the golf course just beautiful AND get this LIVE music! So a clean huge spacious setting and awesome food and live music what?! Yes and a 9:00 pm happy hour with half price apps! Good Apps too! And discounted drinks! Nowhere else on that side of the lake has this! And music! And a newly opened pulltab booth! The staff is awesome quick and friendly! So yes this is the place to go and we will be spending our valuable time and money at Willy Ts! read more

Worst lunch I have ever had!! Ordered a burger and fries, fries came out like they where never cooked. Burger was also cold like everything was waiting to be served to long. Also asked if the they had fresh brewed iced tea, I was told yes. What I received was instant nest tea. Tasted bad and switched to a Diet Coke. Had to wait to get served as I believe I was only the third person in the place. Never checked back to see how everything was, never even had a chance to get a refill on the drink. Even had to wait to get check. Wanted to complain to a manger but no one ever stayed at the table for more than a sec to ask. Poor poor service and food!!! Do yourself a favor, close the doors!! Super slow service. The waitress brought out a complimentary teaser from the kitchen and when asked if it was gluten free her response was 'I have no idea.' She didn't even offer to find out, so we couldn't eat it. It took over 30 minutes to get our food, and with 2 kids, that was not ok. At least the ambience of the golf course and weather was good! Would not have eaten here if we weren't staying at the resort. We then tried to eat breakfast there the next morning as it is the only place to get food and they only had a buffet. When asked about any gluten free options we were told he could only have the fruit and yogurt, even though my husband had called before we came to ensure there would be options for him. This place is awful. We were traveling through and decided to come in for a quick lunch. First thing we noticed was a chicken sandwich and an order of Fried mushrooms and drink was $19!!!!. My daughters shrimp Po boy was supposed to come with fries and a drink but they tried to charge her extra saying that it didn't come that way. The advertisement on the blackboard out front showed otherwise. So she argued with them and finally got her fries and a drink for the advertised price that was on the board. None of the people there knew what were they were doing. I asked if the fried mushrooms came with any kind of sauce? They said "no" so I ordered sweet-and-sour sauce on the side. She charged me extra but then sent out ranch dressing with it. WTF! Y'all need to get your shit together and figure out what you serve at your restaurant and at what price..... we will never be back. read more

I went here for food and drinks with my sister and some friends last night and was super impressed with the service. The bartender, Trent, was awesome and kept our drink situation on point, and when we had a couple of issues with our food, he was quick to take care of it for us. The food was really good, though. We ordered the cheese curds, the sweet chili wings, the rueben, and the Italiano burger. Their ranch is incredible, the fries were crispy and fresh, and everything was tasty. The cook came out and apologized for the issues we had, which was really appreciated. I highly recommend stopping in for a few cold drinks, good food, and amazing service. read more

We had a table of six. The ahi tuna sandwich was overcooked; the peach barbecue chicken seemed baked, but tasted great. Two plates had the handmashed taters; they were meh, no worse-too much onion, too little milk, too little butter-butter was served on the side-oddly. Ribs were very good. Meatloaf was more like 8 buk meatloaf at a local cafe and not worth 15 buks. My eldest finished only half the meatloaf and he is not too fussy. My wife scored them a 2; I gave them a 3, but really I was being kind. The dessert tray looked yummy, but we had all been disappointed to a degree and passed. read more

In the past we have had many very good experiences eating @ Willy T's and so when we had family up for Father's Day weekend from the twin cities, we decided to dine out @ Willy T's last Saturday evening, 6/15/19. That was really a mistake! It was the worst experience that I have ever had there! After waiting some time to get seated we finally ended up in the high chair area. The hostess, if that was what she was, didn't seem to know if she could find seating for six people at all until we asked about the high table in view in front of us. After about a 15 min wait, a server came by and asked if he could get us some drinks. He also announced that they were really busy that night and that it would be a long wait to get a food order. We thought that a long wait might be a half hour or so but the long wait stretched into more than three times that long. During that long waiting time the server completely ignored us and could be seen running around like crazy doing other things other than assuring us that we would get our food soon. No apologies, whatsoever! When the food finally arrived(2-Walleye Sandwiches, 1 Bison Meatloaf dinner, 1 Prime Rib/way over cooked, 1 chicken & Pasta dinner) all the food was just barely warm like it had sat somewhere too long. Oh, I almost forgot. The last item that had been ordered was one of Willy T's famous Burgers and it did not arrive at all and a girl that was helping deliver the food said that she would check to see what the problem might be. The burger arrived about 10-15 minutes later and we can only assume that that item was forgotten completely. Lest I forget, the Tater Tots that people ordered, did not arrive at all & without saying anything other than they ran out of Tater Tots everyone was given a little cup of French Fries that had been sitting around some where too long. I believe that it is purely a management problem. Sheep don't know what to do unless the shepherd tells & trains them properly! In the past this would not have happened and until we hear that management has changed and that people get some guidance from the management I won't go back there or recommend that anyone I know go there either. Everybody keeps telling me how great the food is at Willy T's. I have been there three times and have not been impressed. The first time, our orders were all messed up and one person did not even get her meal until we were all done. The second trip my veggie burger was horribly burned. (BTW if you are a vegetarian, the veggie burgers are frozen, black bean burgers available at your local Walmart.) Gave it another shot last night, our party of six was not impressed. Seafood was overcooked. Several people were served the wrong food. Everyone agrees that the food is average at best. On the upside, the patio is fantastic. They have a nice view. We went to Willy T's while on vacation with friends. The food was good but our waiter was slow when we had to get going I decided to bring my 70 dollar prepaid credit card to the hostess. Our bill was 47 dollars but the hostess ran the card for the full 70 taking all the money on the card. When I called the manager to report it, there was no answer. So I left a message and got no response. I would Sunkist going only if you plan to pay cash. Any other way and you're putting yourself at risk. read more

We attended a wedding last weekend and decided to have breakfast with friends in the area. The only thing available was the buffet. We had to wait for one of the two servers to bring plates to the buffet table. When we finally went to get our food, there was a small amount of some type of potatoes, 2 pieces of French toast, cheesy eggs, fruit and an empty tray of what appeared to be pastries. I think the place was staffed with just the servers who doubled as the chef. Shame on management ... Your standards are in the dumper. Gorgeous golf course and great golf staff. RESTAURANT - NOT SO MUCH! I have been deeply disappointed with the food this season. I avoid some wait staff due to rudeness, and food is mostly a miss for me this summer. A few weeks ago was the worst, ordered chicken strips and artichoke dip. I received chicken patties (mystery meat at best), was told they changed the menu, good dip with Blackened pita chips and rotten lettuce. I only wish I had taken photos. Our entire table was disgusted. Writing this review hoping the management will read and take some action! We love this place but something really needs to be done about food quality and attitude of staff. read more

Unless you want a sandwich, don't waste your time here. Our group had reservations for 12. They only had a table for 10 and squeezed in chairs. Waitress announced they were out (since Monday) of roast beef dinner, lemon chicken, prime rib, and steak fillet. Only left a few entrees remaining to choose from. Took a long time for our food to arrive and there were less than 15 other people there. Barbecue ribs were tender but had been reheated so they were dry. I had a pasta dish that was ok.
