Disappointed with Margaritas, I really wanted to like this place but food, drinks, and service were all sad. My table ended up ordering two jumbo frozen margaritas and they showed up on the rocks both times. Chips & salsa- 2/5 stars Chips are weak and thin, salsa didn't taste fresh. My friend and I thought it had a weird taste. Like maybe it was made from canned tomatoes? Margaritas- 2/5 stars Aside from getting the margs wrong twice, it tasted like it was made with really cheap margarita mix, not very alcoholic. Glad we got the jumbo on the special day for $8.99. Decent price if you get it cheap. Food- 2/5 stars I got the enchiladas rancheras which was okay, the carnitas that topped the enchiladas were better than the actual enchiladas. Ended up just picking off the meat. The guacamole on the side was kinda brown when it came out. My friend got the vegetarian chimichanga and was only given a tiny half spoonful of really brown guacamole. He also described it as covered in "plastic cheese". The pico also just felt like it had been sitting out for a while and a little dried out. TLDR: food didn't seem fresh, margs were ok if you get them cheap, got our order a little wrong but we didn't care too much. Music was weird. They were certainly not very Crude and nasty. The non alcoholic pina colada and burrito dinner that I had was well prepared and very delicious. We came in drawn to the colors and live music, but regretted not checking the reviews first. The queso was watery, as was the salsa, and the rest of the food was just ok--except the garlic shrimp which basically had no flavor. I would have given 3 stars but the service was also frustrating. The waitress was polite but never took the initiative to ask if we needed something. We asked for water for the table and she brought a single glass. Our dinners were brought out separately and several minutes apart. I would not recommend this place. read more

I found this place on maps. We went during happy hour. He served showed us the different sizes of the small and jumbo margaritas and the jumbo is completely worth it! The chips and salsa were really good! The server was super nice, she gave us her opinion on the food. I got the dirty tacos, with steak and chicken, which comes with queso, black beans, chipotle sauce and tortilla chips. The flour tortillas are better than the hard tacos. On the menu it states if you want a side of sour cream/tomatoes/etc. they're $2.00! Completely worth the $2.00! We asked for a side of lettuce as well and the server came out with a full plate of lettuce. Tacos were the bomb! The beef & chicken enchiladas were really good! Wow...I wish I read the reviews about this place BEFORE I sat down to eat here. So they automatically add 15% gratuity whether you have good service or not and let me tell you, the service was TRASH! My girlfriend and I sat down to eat and asked for cheese dip, they never brought it out. I had to get up and get our menus lol. Finally I guess one of the managers came over and said he'll take care of us and he did, he took our orders and brought our drinks and our food out quickly but...the food was horrible. I didn't touch the vegetables cause they looked old and soggy, the beans were cold, he checked on us one time and that was it. Staff that doesn't care. The hostess just sat and played on her phone the whole time. Tables needed busted and cleaned and no one would clean them. The restaurant was not even packed. Took about an hour to get my food and once I got it and took a bite it was cold. Warning to future guests wanting to get the pollo borracho just know I was unable to eat the rice because it was soaked in tequila and inedible. Thought it was supposed be cooked in with the chicken and mushrooms but it was an eye opener as I gasped for air while taking that first bite. How I would describe this restaurant? The perfect storm of shitty food, shitty service, and shitty experience resulting in the ultimate cluster fuck of regret. The service was incompetent, uninterested, and understaffed. A group comes in and is immediately greeted by a stiff and pissed greeting making the customers feel like a nuisance. The food was over priced, undercooked, and will ultimately leave you sitting on a toilet feeling enough self pity and regret to last a month. Not a good time. Would not recommend. read more

Our first day in Memphis we decided to stop here, as the giant Margaritas sign was just what we had been looking for, drinks! Service was fast and friendly, orders came out right, and the drinks were delicious! Chips were thin and crispy, but thick enough to not break when scooping salsa or queso, which we ordered and loved! My tacos were fantastic, the meat was savory and the cheese was melted in just right. I got a jumbo peach margarita. It came beautifully swirled, but needed to be mixed before drinking. After that it was great. We asked for a side of sour cream and got an entire bowl of it! The only reason I am giving it 4/5 stars is because one in our group got a burrito that tasted a little funny and she ended up not eating it. Me and my family decided to take a detour from Beale St, and stumbled upon what we thought was a nice establishment. WRONG!!! The waiters literally went back and forth about who would wait on us for about 10 minutes. Once seated, the waiter didn't speak to us for another 10 minutes. When he decided to speak to us, we received no greeting or introduction. I could go on and on about the poor customer service he provided, but I'll wrap up here by saying that our food was cold and when told to our waiter, he proposed to "reheat" it... needless to say, he put it in the microwave. My first time trying this restaurant was September 9, 2018. It's a fairly small place with a nice charm to it. The music was WAY too loud, I could barely hear. I order the grill fajita chicken salad and it was very flavorful and delicious. The service was fair. The premium margarita was the best!! I'm comparing this quality margarita to Frida's. Happy Mexican, and Maria's Cantina, this premium is hands down the Best!! I would try this again for sure. I was in a party of 5 and gratuity was billed... i didnt see a post on gratuity for a small group posted, so i hope the restaurant looks into posting. We were the only white couple at 9:30 on a Saturday night. Less than 20% of the restaurant was eating - most were just enjoying the free chips and salsa and single drink. The music was WAAAY too loud. The volume needed to be reduced by half. I'm not sure if anyone was even enjoying it. The "DJ" didn't match a single beat all night - just scratched into a new song. He played okay music but he spent 45 minutes screaming over the music for birthday shout-outs (There were maybe 100 African American people in the room; I'm still not sure how it was half the room's birthday...) and drink specials "$4 shots, $5 shots, $6 shots. $14.99.99.99.99 margaritas." It was terrible. It didn't look like a single customer was even talking. You had to scream to say anything; we finally gave up on talking. At one point, I was choking on the spices from the meat. My partner - to my immediate right - didn't even notice because he couldn't hear my 1-minute-long coughing fit. This seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. The guacamole was disgusting - store bought and expired. The other food was decent but the loud music / DJ screaming made it taste unpleasant. The regular house margaritas seemed small and overpriced; this was one of the worst drinks I've ever had. The service could improve - but you'd have to be pretty desperate to work here. I had to wave down our waitress each time we needed anything; then shout and point to our order. We never received water. She (undeservingly) automatically added 18% gratuity for our party of 2. To top it all off, a short security guard wouldn't get out of my face / let us exit until I showed him an initialed receipt that we paid. How degrading! read more

Never had a chance to try the place - party of 6, 2-children & 4-adults - stood waiting to be seated, waitress came to the area twice, looked our way and never acknowledged us. Decided we would wait a little longer but if we were ignored a third time, we would leave. Needless to say we left. And, as we were walking out, we were not acknowledged. Had out of state company with us and two of us worked in the food service industry. Based on this, we have more patience and understanding and almost always tip 25% or more. I don't know if all the Memphis Margarita restaurants are affiliated but this review is for the location at 4128 Elvis Presley BLVD. a coworker and I ate here for lunch at the end of August. I should have know that there would be a problem when the waitress didn't write down anything. The first time that my food came the tacos were hard shell and had lettuce when I ordered soft shell and no lettuce and the enchilada was cold. The waitress took the food back and came back with more tacos with lettuce again so I told her that I didn't want lettuce so at this point I canceled the order. Ten minutes later she brings out the food that I canceled and the bill. The food was alright because I was hungry and I left a five dollar tip because I always tip but when I got my credit card bill someone at the restaurant added $10 extra dollars to my bill. I called the restaurant and texted the manager a pick of my statement and she did nothing. I would not recommend this restaurant or location to anyone. read more

This place is a dump. The food is stale and mass-produced. The margaritas, aka the namesake of the restaurant, taste like lemon lime kool-aid with liquor. We got a pitcher. It had silverfish in it. My favorite dish is the Margarita baked potato. I have probably had it more than a half-dozen times since I discovered this place. I like it because it is loaded with steak, chicken and shrimp, along with vegetables. They top it off with your choice of nacho cheese or white cheese, which is what I get. Now, I have had this dish both dine in and personally carried out by me and the food was good! So one night, I don't feel like going out and I decide to implement doordash to bring me my food. I order my usual and wait. Upon opening the container, I noticed that it is about half the size that it normally is, then I poked around and notice that there is no shrimp in it, and after finally taking a bite I noticed it's not very hot. I don't live but maybe five minutes from the restaurant, and it took the delivery driver forever to get to my apartment. Today, I decide to go pick up my food after having ordered it through doordash as a pickup. Again, it doesn't take me long to get there so I pick it up and take a quick glance at it, thinking I saw a shrimp or two, but when I got it home I realized there were none! Both times, I did contact doordash customer service who issued credits or partial credits but I am quite convinced that this restaurant purposely short changes orders that are not directly through them. Why do I think this you ask? Well, in between these two incidents, I personally went into the restaurant and ordered takeout, waited and the food that I got was perfect. Not only that, but any other time I have ordered this dish, nothing has been missing from it. The portions are always big and I can never finish it in one sitting. Another reason I think they do this on purpose is because the people that pick up the food for you through doordash or Ubereats or whoever, don't check your food, so if something's wrong with it when it gets to you, the restaurant is not liable for it. On the other hand, if you pick up your food personally and something is wrong with it then they are liable. If you're looking for a quiet place to eat and talk, I don't think Jess this location on the weekends. It is super loud and even just making a simple to-go order is annoying because you have to yell. I do recommend eating the food here, but I don't recommend using a delivery service to acquire it. read more

I really like this place, here are a few reasons why. First, the decor inside. Very unique lights plus the tables and chairs look wonderful. It was also very festive all over which is fun for everyone! It really gives off a Authentic Mexican Restaurant vibe. Next, the waiters/waitresses are very efficient! They are always there to refill your drink/drinks, and always ready to give you the check or to order your food! Next comes the food. The guacamole is delicious!! The Tortilla Soup has a great variety of Vegetables in it. My friend liked the food too. They said they were generous about giving Shrimp, and Black Beans on their meals! Plus the beer there was AWESOME, and has a great variety of different flavors. HORRIBLE. First they have roaches crawling up on the walls near the tables. Their white queso was tasteless, had no flavoring what so ever! When it was delivered to the table it was already in the process of thickening, meaning it had been sitting and was not fresh. We placed our order at 815 and my friend did not receive her food until 9:20 (we were talking, lost track of time and did not realize it took an hour for nachos). Our waiter did not communicate with us. We asked her twice for water she didn't bring us water at all. When it was brought to the managers attention about the roach he made it seem like it was okay, they've sprayed and also having roaches was okay. He stated " Yeah the guys came to spray...y'all never grew up with roaches? We did in Texas" that's FILTHY! We pointed the roach out many times that at this point crawled behind the tv, he acted as if he couldn't see it so I showed him the pics I have attached to this review and then he offered to take a percentage off our meals. Getting your table, ordering drinks, then waiting 10 minutes to order food isn't uncommon. Bad food, bad service (by Jason), good manager! I'm in town visiting and someone recommended Margarita's. We went around 9:30p to dine in, I saw that they closed at 10p so I called first to make sure we would have enough time, they told us to come on in. Our waiter was Jason, at first he was fine, then when he brought out our food, most of the order was wrong, I informed him of what was wrong and then he told me that there was nothing he could do because the kitchen closed 10 min after we got there, then the waiter got real emotional on me and started freaking out, literally. To that, I responded and said that I no longer wanted to communicate with him, only the manager. The manager, Adrian, was very nice and professional and apologized about the service and the food. So the night was already not going so well and then I got home and ended up being sick the rest of the night, not sure what exactly it was that got me sick, but I only ate the chicken taco, the chips and salsa and guacamole. We were actually headed to Texas de Brazil for lunch but apparently they were closed. It was nasty cool rainy weather and had already paid for parking so we just headed down to Margaritas. I had no idea what to expect, looked at 0 reviews and had never heard of it. However, it turned out fine. I liked the chips and salsa. The chips were thinner than most from non-TexMex restaurants which is the way I like them. I ordered the enchiladas supreme plate. There was plenty of food with 4 enchiladas covered with red sauce and lettuce cheese and a tomato slice. I enjoyed it. Also, my wife was looking for food that was gluten free. Our waiter (I wish I could remember his name) was very patient and helpful. She ended up getting a tamale plate with 3 tamales covered in green sauce which she said was too much for her and should have only ordered 2. She enjoyed her plate as well. The total for our bill was about $26. We had water to drink so that was just for the food. I give it 4 stars because it was just what I would expect from a typical Mexican restaurant with better than average service. read more

When I received the food there were no flour tortillas for our fajitas included with the meal after it specifically asks if you want flour or corn. We received none. My Chicken Parrillo (grilled chicken and grilled pineapple) was cooked to perfection. The chips and salsa were as good as my favorite TexMex restaurants I enjoy. My sister in law's fajitas were dry and tasteless. Our orders came out wrong and our waiter "Houston" was very apologetic and corrected them immediately.
