We waited for about 20 minutes and in that time, the wait staff were scratching their heads and touching their faces and then touching the chips with no gloves and not washing their hands. I grew up going to this place (the Gladstone location). Granted, you're not going to get sophisticated Mexican fare here. You're not going to get incredible flavors, or even a whole lot of authenticity for that matter. However, what you will get is filling, hot American Mexican food. You gotta be smart and know your specials. On Sunday all the specials are good, so that makes it easy for you. Salsa is great, in my opinion. Chips are good. Tacos are simple and (in my opinion) tasty. Enchiladas are a glob of cheese wrapped in tortilla, so be aware that you'll walk away in cheese coma. Some may view the greasiness of the tacos with disgust. However, if you let the grease from your taco drip on the shredded lettuce garnish that comes with many dishes and then spoon some salsa on top--boom, you've got a free side salad with "house" dressing. I'd say go for the tacos on Tuesday, Monday (BOGO chicken tacos) or Sunday. Margarita pitchers (pretty good marg here, I would hope so considering the name of the restaurant) and domestic drafts are also discounted on Sunday. Ask about drink specials. It's an experience. You'll either like it or you won't. But hey, it's worth a try. Our party of six left very full for 31 bucks less tip, and that was with a pitcher. That's Super Sunday for ya. I don't even have the option to give more stars on this restaurant because we never sat down to eat. I have loved Margaritas for 20 years and grew up eating at the Northland location. I buy a jar of their salsa almost once a week and love it. Unfortunately, when we tried to dine in at this location, we weren't even acknowledged for over the 10 minutes while we were standing at the hostess station. The couple ahead of us was sat as soon as we walked in and we waited patiently for quite some time while the 4-5 workers constantly walked past us without acknowledging us. I get that they were busy and we would have been happy to wait had they said "it will be just a few minutes" or "we will get to you as soon as we can". But they ACTIVELY avoided eye contact with us the entire time we were standing there...so eventually we just left. I was sad, I had such a craving for their tacos! read more

Friendly staff. No more food specials, (like most places due to Covid) but they have great happy hour drinks. And now you can order online. We love the Margs and they're pretty strong, too. Definitely the best cheese dip around! We always share the Nachos, the #14 Chicken Argentine, or the #18 Sizzlin Fajitas. It's always plenty to share or take some home. I tried Margaritas for the first time last week. I was absolutely blown away. First, the service was amazing. I was seated right away and my server was extremely attentive, recommended drinks and food, and was prompt on delivering food. I went during happy hour and had a strawberry mango margarita! It was fantastic. They have a cheese dip called the Margarita Dip. Do yourself a favor and make sure you get it! The deep fried chicken taco reminded me of my favorite mom and pop shops back on the west coast. It was so great to finally find food that reminded me of home. Such a great experience. Our first time here and we will not return. Ordered ala cart. Enchilada and a crab enchilada. 7.50 crab enchilada. What I was given was 1/2 an enchilada that had been microwaved. 2 inches of food and a handful of shredded lettuce. The burrito was hard from being nuked in the microwave and they apparently have a ban on knives. As you only get a fork that's so bent from people trying to cut the burrito it's better to tear with your teeth. If the food wasn't bad enough the service was terrible. I had to go get my own refill from the bar tender for a diet Dr Pepper but had to wait for her to get off the phone first. Not sure what she gave me. Went for taco Tuesday at 6pm, wait was about 20 minutes so not too bad. There isn't much of a wait area so that was hard and the staff seemed kinda overwhelmed. The food was okay, best description I can come up with. Deep fried tacos (chicken and beef) were good and not soggy. Surprisingly the chicken tenders my daughter got were very good, the server said they are made there and made to order which impressed me. Overall it was good but nothing extraordinary. read more

This Margarita's Location has closed and relocated to Quivera and 78th or so. The food is always great at Margarita's, and the kitchen is usually willing to make adjustments to ingredients even though a lot of it comes pre-made (eg. no onions in an enchilada). The new location is larger than it's previous one, and is better for larger groups. read more

My husband and I have come here three times in the last few months and keep giving it another try because it is close to soccer practice. Worst service by a bartender ever. Don't ask me if I want chips and a menu, just bring them. Never have we gotten a meal without having to ask for silverware. When I tell you the mango salsa on the meal is still frozen and that it is the worst meal I've had at a restaurant in a long time, don't tell me you'll let someone know so they can fix it next time and still charge me $11.50 for the side Caesar salad with brown avocados. Wow, what has happened to this once great establishment? In the 80s this place was my stomping ground. The food was fantastic, the portions generous, and the value was good. Fast forward 30 years and maybe the original owners (Ron and Dave) are tired or maybe they sold out to their kids as planned but it's not the same place. Not by a long shot. Plenty of parking spaces and a less than half full restaurant at :6:00 on Saturday night should have been a tip off. Upon ordering I noticed while their prices stayed the same the portions of food are smaller. Three tacos vs. two on a platter. Fajitas with rice not rice and beans. No guacamole either. The chicken fajitas I ordered were ok but the plate which looked full had more than half rice, many peppers and onions, few pieces of chicken. Not sure what they have done with their chips but their salsa is still delicious. The margaritas were good but had way too much ice. All in all the presentation reeked of cost cutting and cheap. So my old long time favorite is no more. Replaced by the consistent and continued quality of Mi Ranchito. read more

I tried the steak soft taco tonight & it tasted disgusting. I didn't want to make a big deal about it in front of the friends I went with but I seriously should not have spent 9.00 on the meal. Nothing great but nothing to complain about either. I added some fried jalapeno to it which made it better. Their food is good gringo tex/mex but the refried beans had a rock in them. A 1/4 inch rock that could have chipped a tooth! I took it out of my mouth and waited til the waitress came with the bill. I showed her the tooth and she picked it up, saying nonchalantly the vendor has been giving them the rocks in the beans. I was discrete and didn't want it comped. Although they don't officially take reservations, they were willing to work with me. When our group arrived, we waited less than 5 minutes. Almost every thing costs extra to add including ordering your food with the (free) salsa on top (of a chimichanga)... actual margaritas are okay, very strong with poor quality tequila, tasted like rubbing alcohol. not impressed with quality except the margarita dip which is nothing more than watered down white cheese with onions tomatoes and spinach in it. I love this place! I have been going there for years. They make a few items exceptionally well. They're best items are puffy chicken or regular tacos, chicken enchiladas and margarita (white cheese) dip. I highly recommend the puffy chicken tacos. The puffy tacos are made with flour tortillas instead of corn. I am not a fan of any of their items made with ground beef. Their ground beef is bland. Not impressed with their nachos either. Only bummer was that it got SUPER cold in there (after being pretty warm when we got in), and the staff didn't seem to try to accommodate or acknowledge customers' discomfort. Pretty much meh....something has to be completely inedible before I give less than 3 stars. Margaritas is all advertising and very little actual delivery. One of the blandest menus even in whitebread JoCo and just as bland on the delivery. It took getting their b*tts kicked by newcomers like Jose Pepper etc to even update their menu to include shredded beef or black beans. And what is their standard queso dip....microwaved Velveeta? The espinaca dip is nice, but the norm is perilously close to 2-star land. Lots of food for the dollar but far from memorable. Far better options abound. read more
