Nice little pizza spot in Marfa (currently not alot open). I think this would be a nice spot to hang out if it wasn't for COVID. They have cornhole and a pool table in the back, but no one was playing. We ordered the chicken pesto pizza and one of the specialty pizzas. Overall I liked the crust but both were a little too creamy on top for me. I did like the chicken pesto pizza quite a bit and would reorder. they have a variety of drinks and beverages you can buy as well. read more

We drove 1.5 hours to check out and support this small business. I checked the hours online on their IG page and according to that we had plenty of time as it is advertised to be open untill 8 pm. We arrived at 430 PM, to a paper sign on the door stating they close at 5 pm. A not so friendly lady with thinning hair and an ill fitting blue jump suit was at the counter taking orders. We placed the order and shortly after decided we might add another pizza for our group of 6. I approached the lady at the counter and asked her if I could add another pizza to our order. She took a deep sigh, seems like i annoyed her by asking. She went to the kitchen and spoke to whomever was cooking i assume. She returned to the counter and said "It will be tought....but i guess." Again with visible annoyance to my request. I noticed it and said im sorry is it that much trouble? She states "honestly yes." I responded ok nevermind cancel it then. That made the rest of our time there very uncomfortable. The pizza is ok, the customer service horrible. read more

This came recommended to me by a dear friend and Marfa frequenter. They said it was the best grill cheese in the world and considering they have traveled the world I had to take the claim as true. The hours said open at 11, which in Marfa time means 11:27-11:48. No one is in a hurry in Marfa. The bodega side was stocked with dulce and bee balm, sauces and dog beer, yes you read that right, I said dog beer. The owners were so kind and warm rang us up and cooked our food, my kind of business. So I waited 48 minutes for this grilled cheese and do believe it was worth the wait. I didn't weigh the sandwich but feel like it was probably close to a full block of grated provolone, that was just oozing outside it's toasted sourdough perimeter. Delicious wood fired pizza in a small town. Ordered at the walk up window and 2 pizzas took about 20 minutes. Perfect after a long day at Big Bend National Park with nothing else for hours. This is the best place we've eaten in West Texas! The pizza is incredible because somehow they make the bread thin, but fluffy with the right amount of crisp. The chef is from a fine dining background, but Para Llevar, translated to "to go", fits in with the laid back vibes of Marfa. Get fine dining food with out the high price. The meatball sub is amazing, with fresh ingredients of basil, giant meat balls, white cheese, pickled veggies, and homemade marinara sauce. It is sandwiched with amazing bread, different from the pizza dough, but thicker, crispier, and just as amazing and taste. I also enjoyed the pimento cheese, served with a pizza-sized buttery garlic herb bread. The frozen drinks are recommended. The cucumber lemonade is very refreshing! read more

Para Llevar really hits the spot. I wish I could give it 5 stars since the crust, sauce and cheese were all on point but they put these giant inedible pieces of basil on the pizza. It must be an anomaly since everything else was so perfect. Overall, if I am in Marfa again, I would definitely come back. Are there one night - food was delicious. However, we attempted to eat there a second night but and sadly could not. Don't count on them to be open all the time, even though they have posted hours. Staff seemed to not care that they closed an hour early the second night despite a steady stream of patrons coming in after they closed (before their advertised hours were finished). This is an amazing place. Its a bodega of special treats, homemade pizzas & paninis. Very ultra cool hangout spot in the back with a Marfa style seating area, fire pits, water station, under roof billiards table and corn hole. Next door is an Airbnb/hotel called Corte del Norte walking distance to shops and galleries. Hints of Chihuahua desert sotol drifting down from Marfa Spirits Distillery seem to mysteriously flavor the air. On a 9 day stay in Marfa, on some days Para Llevar was the only restaurant option with the exception of Dairy Queen. I dined here multiple times. Each time was magnificent. The Mexican club sandwich, the chicken salad sandwich, the grilled cheese, and the BLT with pimento cheese were all spectacular! Washing it down with a prickly pear margarita ensures a great vacation! The service was great. The cactus garden made for wonderful outdoor dining. Highly recommend! read more

Visiting Marfa for a few days and we had a mixed experience at Marfa Para Llevar. I'll start with the good - the chocolate cake was absolutely amazing - probably one of the moistest chocolate cakes I've ever had. Absolutely incredible! The tomato sauce and sourdough crust on the pizza were also great - both had a really good flavor. The gift shop is also really cute and there are drinks you can buy to eat with your pizza. The reason I'm giving this three stars though Is because both of our pizzas had missing or poor toppings. I ordered a cheese pizza and added feta and pepperoncini for $4 extra. The feta was missing and the peppers were all stems. My boyfriend ordered the arugula and prociutto pizza and unfortunately it was missing the gorganzola and the mozzarella which made for a very very dry pizza. While we understand supply may be limited out here (I'm assuming that's why we had missing toppings) we didn't get any communication or notice of this and I was dissappointed at having paid extra for toppings that we didn't get. I'd recommend this place but maybe order in person and not online to make sure you're getting what you think you're ordering. read more

I don't know what people are talking about in these reviews. I ordered the Arugula Prosciutto Pizza, the panini, a Michelada, and the Froze. Froze was fine. Michelada's beer pairing options were Bud Light or Michelob Ultra. Not a Mexican beer in sight. The Panini was a comically tall and greasy block of unevenly spread ingredients--a giant slab of melted cheese on 1/4 of it, a bunch of meats on another 1/4, a barren 1/4, and then a 1/4 with olives. The Pizza consisted of a cooked crust with a little melted cheese on it, with giant hunks of room temp. prosciutto piled on, with some dry arugula placed on top of it all. It was all so far from good it felt pointless to even complain and we just left feeling ripped off. I imagine the people who cited this as "the best pizza they've ever had" have only had Dominos. read more

Just like the Houston Astros, I was tipped off by a local about this place. They ensured me exactly what I should expect. Thus, after everyone in town recommend it with such praise. I just had to give it a shot. And like Jose Altuve, they hit it out of the park. I had the margarita pizza and it was upper deck quality. The pizza was a perfect mix of crispy and flavors. Unlike the Astros though, no trash can were used, because it was so good none of it went to waste. We loved this place!! All of the other restaurants are iffy since so many require reservations or are closed post-COVID or just on their own schedule. We landed here after discovering Pizza foundation and Jeb's weren't open and we were pleasantly surprised! After coming from Marfa Wine Co. (Also an amazing and cute wine stop in Marfa) they let us drink the rest of our bottle on their outside patio while we waited for our pizza. The service was amazing and super friendly and they're shop was cute to look around during our wait. The pizza was oven baked and cooked so well it was exactly what we were looking for. Don't expect a fully loaded, double stuffed, toppings galore pizza. This is a traditional, wood-fired pizza. And it was amazing! I ask the waitress only to find out they're "out of basil". Would have been nice to know before I ordered, I may prob would have gotten something else. Really really really good food here. This is like a standalone taco stand. But it has the most outstanding pizza you have ever had for a side of building café. It's got limited seating so it's a little bit of a challenge to eat there, but it's absolutely worth your time and effort! The staff/ owners are fantastic with great personalities', you don't get to see much of them because they're behind a wall, but it's a really really charming place with high quality food. I highly recommend this place as a go to for just a quick bite to eat. You have to remember in Marfa the restaurants are hit and miss. Sometimes they're open sometimes they're closed so you do need to take advantage of some really good quality food when you get to. This is one of those places don't hesitate to stop there and grab a quick bite! A plus!!!
